We came here for a surprised birthday party and had an amazing time. We booked a table for 20 people around lunch time and to our surprise the restaurant was completely empty. It was fun having the place to ourselves. The food was pretty delicious. We got the brunch special for everyone which was 8 cold appetizers, 4 hot appetizers, kebab(chicken and pork), fruit and dessert. Come to think of it, it was a ton of food, so definitely come hungry! The place is BYOB and they even let you bring your own cake at no extra charge. I highly recommend this place for private parties. They even let you alter the brunch menu depending on what you like. Here are a couple of my favorites: — Eggplant roll gets a solid 5 star, it was eggplant filled with some type of nuts. Absolutely delicious! — Potato salad — this is a Russian type of special salad which is amazing. I think it’s all the mayo added on. I really believe mayo makes everything takes better. — Fried potatoes are an absolute must. They were hands down the best appetizer and were accompanied by fried mushrooms. If i had unlimited room in my stomach this is all i would eat 24⁄7! Here are a couple of items you can avoid on the menu(remember they let you alter it) — The chicken turnover tasted a little bit funny — I couldn’t tell what meat it was, which is a usual sign for it is probably not even meat. This one gets a solid one star. Avoid it if you can. — The escargot was a bit slimy and weird, but I think this might be an acquired taste type of food. Since it was the first time I had it I wasn’t sure if it was the restaurant or the dish itself. Overall, the food was delicious and what you don’t finish up you can take home with you. Trust me, if you come here for brunch you will be full come dinner time!

I went there last weekend to celebrate my partners birthday. We were going to do a tour of the culinary world. I was very excited about trying Russian food. As we enter this very unattractively decorated restaurant, I was getting nervous. So we go through the double doors and I was greeted by a very nice waiter and asked for a table for 2. Then he told me to wait for a few mins. From the back, the owner of the restaurant walks and tells us that we are underdressed for the restaurant. And I am quoting: «this is not a diner» he says. He was dressed with dirty jeans and a t-shirt which was not suitable to his high standards. So we were basically kicked out because we did not meet the dress code. It was in the middle of the summer, we both had nice shorts and shirts and in the city you can go to any nice restaurant with shorts and a nice shirt. I called 2 times to check on different things to make sure that we did not need reservations and they took credit cards and it was not mentioned to me that we need to be «dressed up». So this review is not about the food but about the behavior of one person. I am never going back!

As other have said, this is a great Russian restaurant. We did a big weekend lunch here and the staff did everything that the they could have done to make it an excellent time. The food was actually really good — I really meant that. I don’t know what it’s like here when it’s crowded because we were one of just two groups here that day, but like I said, service is excellent. If I had to do that again, I would book with Paris for sure. Prices totally reasonable.

Very nice Russian restaurant. Excellent food, attractively presented, reasonably priced, and very attentive staff. They also have fun, live entertainment on Saturday night. Seems like it would be great for a large group or party, although we just went with a couple of friends. Wish there was something like this closer in to Center City!

Having grown up in NE Philly, seeing this restaurant where I used to hang out(a strip mall) was truly amazing. My sisters could not figure out why my husband and I would want to have Russian food, but after a few cheese steak and pizza meals, you kind of want something interesting and new. Food did not disappoint. And they were having some kind of teen-age girl’s party that night, so the singers and dancing were fun to watch. Enjoyed ourselves, good dumplings, etc.

It’s just like Russian communities to theme a restaurant off an amazing world city like Paris, but offer Russian cuisine instead of French! I think it’s funny. Anyway, don’t be fooled by the name– come here for Russian food. They offer some French stuff but trust me, this is a Russian restaurant. I came here for a house catered party, and in that same night there were two other parties, but the elegant, long dining room was perfect accomdoating for all three LARGE parties. There’s also a stage/dance floor for russian singers and dancing(of COURSE!) This has been my best expereince with Russian food. The attentive and ploite wait staff were up on Russian etiquette and spoke little, appeared sophisticatedly, and left the groups to enjoy their many many talks. They served TONS and TONS of the traditional cold fish, smoked fish, caviar, mussels, and then a bit of l’escargot for balance. The man across the table asked me what it was. Adorable. There were plenty of beet dishes and traditional desserts to keep the night fresh after all that freshwater fishiness. For the parties, at least, it was Bring Your Own, and there appeared to be no limit on how much you could bring. No seriously. The atmosphere was perfect for my most memorable Russian celebration, from the food to the crowds to the music and dancing. Recommended, though maybe pricey.
