Waited 4 hours for tire rotation and plug. Had to fight with them to rotate my tires because they screwed up my mileage and claimed I drove 40k in 9 months and wouldnt rotate after more than 6k. They used impact gun on my wheel lock and when mechanic was asked about it he said «do it yourself then».

Stay out of the service department and you’ll be ok. If you can find a cashier to ring you up you’re in luck. They usually have what I need and the prices are fine. The overall experience is pretty terrible. They did once help me out of a jam by cutting a key on a Sunday for a buck.

I had an oil change scheduled for 8 am yesterday, I was there at exactly 8am, dropped the car off. Roy, the Service Desk associate, told me it will be about 30 to 45 minutes, and he will call me when they are done. I figured I can do a little shopping at Target next door. 5 minutes later I get a call that their technician has recommendations for my car. This and that, and I know that none of it is necessary. So I decline politely, and we hang up. Fast forward to 10am. Still no phone call. I go in, I see my car sitting in the parking lot. I go in, Roy seems to be unaware that the oil change has already been done. This is not how I wanted to spend 2 hours of my birthday. And this is a weekday special and appointment. 2 hours? This is completely disrespectful to a working person who cannot afford to waste 2 hours of a workday.

I recently visited Pep Boys for the first time to have my oil changed, inspection/​emission test, and a set of new tires. My vehicle is about 15 years old. The upfront estimate was about $ 1000 for all the services. I received a phone call stating that I needed a new part for my car to pass inspection. The end all total was about $ 1300 for everything. I got the cheaper tires and lower grade oil. The new part took two days to come in so that was not fun. The flip side is that I scheduled my appointment online and they were ready when I got there. If my car didn’t need the part my car would have been done in a few hours. Overall not bad. I don’t know much about cars so this seems to be a place to go when you don’t have a local mechanic. I didn’t feel that I got ripped off. If you think I did please let me know! HAHA!

Even with a 1pm appointment I waited over TWO HOURS to get a tire changed!!! These guys are either understaffed or grossly mismanaged. I understand things come up on other customers cars but when you specialize in tires, tell the customer 45 minutes, they have an appointment, AND your slogan is «TRUST THE BOYS» this is totally unacceptable. I had to get a manager who then got another manager and I’m now STILL waiting for them to put on my new TIRE. A TIRE! We’re not rebuilding a transmission here, its a fucking tire.

I stopped in yesterday to get my oil changed in my ’07 Saturn. This is the first time I took it to this Pep Boys. I was very pleased with the service. I was told upfront that I would have to wait an hour (which I did not mind at the time). But what really pleased me was that when I asked the difference between a high mileage oil change and a conventional the employee was able to answer my question. Don’t laugh but I did not know the difference.
The reason why I asked was because I went to a different place to get my oil changed the time before and the person told me that I needed a high mileage oil change because I was at 100,000 miles. I didn’t think anything of it and spent a lot more money. The employee at Pep Boys informed me that I did not need to do that. He did not pressure me into getting anything extra done to the car. And told me when I was going to start needing a high mileage oil change.
I wish I could remember his name but everyone I spoke to yesterday was fantastic. I really appreciate the time he took with me to educate me on what I needed to done to my car and what was best and what wasn’t needed. Definitely going back

So I just had to change my windshield wiper and arm on my car, IN THE RAIN, and the customer service here is INCREDIBLE (especially ED!) this guy let me borrow the tools I needed, and helped me install the wiper/​arm! Did I mention it was raining? For all my car’s needs I know exactly where I’ll be going from now on! Thanks again Ed!

Great service. Took my car in and had a painless quick repair for a very reasonable price. I’m totally recommending this store

I was at the point where I had to have a lot of work performed on my 2006 Taurus. It wasn’t cheap, but Pep Boys was fair, warned me when I was planning to have unnecessary work done, and even fixed some small problems that I had mended with duct tape for free.
