Philadelphia Guitar Instruction

By way of update:
I signed up for lessons with Billy’s company Philadelphia Guitar Instruction on 9÷29÷2013. I e-​mailed him immediately after purchasing the lessons last September. Despite a total of 45 e-​mails since then, with frequent requests to Billy for updates, I was never able to arrange a single lesson. I was put into contact with multiple «instructors» by Billy, who subsequently decided not to provide the lessons on the terms Billy was offering them to teach. This resulted in an extremely frustrating experience, and the initial excitement I had regarding these lessons quickly gave way to a frank inability to get anything arranged. I have had enough, and am asking for a refund.
While this company frequently offers deals on daily deal websites (and continues to do so!) they do not seem to have the ability or capacity to actually provide the promised lessons.

Review — zero stars. This guy is a criminal! He does not contact you to schedule. May mention a waiting list but then never replies to you. It has been 8 months and no word. He has the gall to be selling more deals even though he has not fulfilled his present orders. I called Amazon Local to get my money back — so embarrassing bc it was a Christmas gift! — but how many people said oh well its only $ 25. Enough to make him try to sell deals again without fulfillment and make enough money not to care. Call Amazon people and get your money back!!! And better yet DO NOT PURCHASE this deal. Billy Redfield, you are a disgrace.

If I could give them less than one star, I would. I too got an Amazon Local deal for this company. It was a Christmas gift and I emailed them in the beginning of January to set up my lessons. They told me I would hear back within 2 – 3 weeks to schedule my lessons. After 4 weeks I emailed them and they told me I was on a waiting list. Then no response for 2 months. They emailed me saying they found me an instructor and to coordinate with him. I emailed him last week and they finally just emailed me 2 days ago saying they’re too busy and can’t find any instructors for my area. Maybe this company should re-​assess their business plan, because their customer service stinks and they obviously are lying about their availability on their website.

I purchased an Amazon Local for guitar lessons from Philadelphia Guitar Instruction. I emailed before purchasing to confirm that they serve our area. It has been 3+ months of sporadic emails back and forth (always prompted by us). We are «waiting» to be put on a list for lessons. Very poor customer service.

Much like John M.‘s review, my wife purchased for me the same «groupon» style deal from Amazon as a gift. After contacting Billy by email through his website and waiting almost a week for a response, I was told that «because you got such a good deal on the lessons they are subject to availability. I’ll contact you when there is an opening.» When I asked about the possibility of a refund if the opening may not be until after the certificate expired, he wouldn’t respond. The fact that he has an identical website for NY offering the same thing he offers in Philly just seemed shady. Sometimes too good to be true offers are just that.
