Platt and Platt Optometrists

Excellent service and exceptionally friendly staff. Would recommend Dr. Platt to anyone, extremely knowledgable and spends the time with you to make things just right. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience at this office!

Had a great experience there recently. Platt was thorough, never rushed, answered all my questions and I felt very satisfied. I was unprepared for the cost of the contact fitting, which he stated was something he did with all new patients, but it was worth it. The office staff was great on the phone and in person and I’m glad to have a new eye doctor!

After moving to the city I needed a new eye doctor. I tried one and felt rushed and that my perscription given to me was wrong so I went to Dr. Platt out of pocket and it was a wonderful experience. I appreciate how much time he took to find the perfect prescription for me and get me the proper eyecare products. My eyesight is poor, and unlike the first doctor I tried, he didn’t make me feel bad about my vision but saw it as a challenge to give me the best vision he could. A great experience overall!

Went to see Dr. Ronald A. Platt, O. D today for an exam and contact fitting. I’m not sure why the practice is called Platt and Platt Drs, and who the other Dr. Platt is. Anyway, I would have to agree with the previous reviewer that this eye doctor is great! I’ve had glasses since kindergarden so I’ve been to several eye doctors myself.
First, I was able to get an appointment the same day on a Monday. I had lost my glasses the weekend before, and my previously scheduled appointment with another doctor wasn’t until Thursday. I showed up at 1pm for my appointment, and his waiting room was empty. I was surprised because the other doctor I had intended to see originally in the same area was booked up all week. I’m glad his office had the availability to see me the same day.
Second, Dr. Platt is very thorough and takes the care to answer your questions and lets you know exactily what he is doing for the exam and what aspects of your eye he is looking at. My visit took a little longer than an hour! That is not including the 5 minutes to fill out paperwork and the 5 minutes I waited in the waiting room to get my eyes dialated. My actual contact fitting was maybe 15 minutes. So the rest of the time was spent with the doctor actually looking at my eyes.-
Dr. Platt took his time tuning the phoropter for me (that black metal lens machine thing with a bunch of dials on it). It seems like he went and tuned several more settings than I have experienced in the past, very carefully, too, by making the lens go blurry, clear, and blurry again and asking me where the clear spot was. I’ve never had a doctor go into such detail. He even made me look through both eyes and did adjustments for both eyes at the same time, too, to make sure the prescriptions worked out together. For all the other doctor’s Ive been to in the past, it’s just flip, flip, flip (no fine tuning of the lens) and 3 minutes for each eye separately, and done. The amount of time Dr. Platt spent, really made me feel like I was getting the right prescription especially since i have really bad astigmatism in both eyes.
One last thing, Dr. Platt’s sense of humor is a bit sarcatistic. He teased me about losing my glasses among other things. Sarcasm is not my kind of humor and I find it somewhat awkward so just warning others who absolutely cannot stand sarcasm. Overall Dr. Platt is very nice and competent if you look past his sense of humor. I highly recommend his practice!

This eye doctor rocks. Like, best one I’ve ever had, and I’ve probably had at least 6 or 7. He takes the time to explain things to you, find you the right prescription, discuss your habits and eye health. He even noticed that I had a pattern of redness that indicates an allergy to contact solution preservatives and had me switch solution types. What a difference! I feel like it takes a doctor who really cares about what he/​she is doing to make observations like that.
P. s. they have moved to the Land Title building. The new offices are much nicer than the old ones.
