An absolutely fabulous nail salon! I have been a customer of the Polish Nail Lounge for some time, dating back to the time of its official opening as a new business. The owner, Leona, is such a welcoming and personable individual. All of the staff there are friendly and appear clean and professional upon all of my visits. The salon is extremely clean and well-​maintained. The space inside this wonderful little corner salon has a cozy and inviting atmosphere that is both relaxing and fun at the same time. In addition, the salon offers a range of services at good prices when compared to other salons in the area.
What sets this salon apart from others is the quality of service. The staff attends close attention to detail and it shows. The gel manicures I receive at this salon do not compare to those of other salons. I notice that my gel manicures last longer, experience less chipping, and that the overall health of my natural nails underneath the gel polish is improved compared to other gel manicures I have received in the past. Another thing I love about visiting this salon is the fact that they only offer natural nail services. Because of this, there are no chemical odors or particulate dust from the removal and filing of false nails. While I realize this is not of great importance to everyone, its important to mention because it can be difficult to locate a salon that avoids these services and so its sets it apart from many other nail salons.

This place is great! The owner somehow remembers me even though I only come about every 2 months. They have done so many awesome nail designs on me, which is something that’s really hard to come by these days! Most places don’t want to take the time to make a cool nail design for $ 5 or whatever they charge — most places want you in and then they want you out– fast turnover so they can maximize their time and make more money. I can understand wanting to make more money, but I want good service too, especially if I’m paying for it! Designs are fun! Ok, end rant on designs. :-) Other things to know about Polish. they have a great nail polish selection and are always updating what they have. They do not have massage chairs if that kind of thing matters to you, but they do give a nice, complimentary back massage at the end while your nails are drying. This is the best place to get your nails done in NoLibs. The people work hard and they set high standards for their work.

This is the best nail salon I’ve been to in Philly. The ladies who work here take their time, pay attention to detail and are friendly.
It’s so frustrating to go get a gel manicure, only to have it start to chip and peel a couple days after. I’ve been to polish several times, and my manicure has always lasted!

I won’t get my eyebrows done anywhere else!
Leona, the owner, is amazing. I’ve had my eyebrows done at a lot of different salons over the years and Leona’s work is by far the best. She shapes them so well. I also have sensitive skin and the wax she uses is quality. It doesn’t leave my skin broken out the next day.
You will be in good hands and I recommend this place to everyone!

I love this place! Have always been very happy whenever I get my mani/​pedi. Usually they do both at the same time. So it’s very efficient. The pedicure is unlike any I’ve ever had! So relaxing! Highly recommend Polish!

I tried this nail salon based on the high Unilocal ratings and feel compelled to leave a review. I have never had such a terrible pedicure in my life. The polish is smeared, doesn’t go to the edge of some toe nails and she left polish on my toes as well. I also had a gel manicure from a different person there which is dreadful as well — the polish started getting scratched within 24 hours. I will never ever come back here and recommend you don’t either!

I’m no-​nonsense with my nail needs. Getting a thorough arm/​hand massage, neck & temple massage, and a leg massage with hot stones was just icing on the cake. The girls at Polish were friendly and the prices are super affordable for the services rendered. This won’t be my last visit!

Nice service. Nails looked good — got the gel polish. Not an amazing spot that will wow you as if they were doing things you’ve never seen before, but They are doing simple things well in a simple facility.

I tried Polish Nail Lounge last week after finding it on Unilocal and I must admit I’m impressed by the quality of work! My gel manicure usually starts peeling off by the 10^th day because I wash my hands a lot, however, I’m on day 10 now and they look like new! I was very impressed by the process too because I’ve never had a similar experience where they don’t really do the manicure stuff until the end and until after they put on the gel color.
They also have a huge selection of gel colors and matching regular colors (for pedicure) and their prices are on the lower end, so I’m already thinking about when my next visit will be :)

Loved this place. I’m a nurse and always do my own nails because hand sanitizer and constant washing always takes off polish and gel way before salons say it will, but I splurged and got a gel mani. 2 weeks later and it still looks great (other than my nails growing out).
I also had a pedicure which was amazing with a leg and foot massage. I was a walk in and they welcomed me and got me in a chair right away. They also give an amazing back massage while you sit with your nails drying. Not your typical shoulder rub most places do, but a full massage. Bring tip for the massage! It’s so worth it!

Well my nails came out nice. However cleanliness was so poor. Girl who did my pedicure did someone before me and after me without washing her hands and didn’t wear gloves. Also, never changed tools and i could see other peoples skin on the pumice stone. yuck. Stupid me for not opening my mouth.
They were tired, I guess that was the bad mood. But professionalism needs to always be up especially with a la cart pricing. I didn’t see prices posted anywhere. I was told to pay as soon as I sat down on the pedicure chair. Didn’t even get my feet wet and I had to pay?! What tha?! They had a tacky sign begging for tips.
I was charged for silver polish??? Yea, I’ll stick to my nail shop, Queens nails and just wait because they’re always crowded. Ally was kind and sweet. She took pride in her work.

There are a ton of nail salon options in the city. So many, that it overwhelmed me and I couldn’t find a place I absolutely loved until I tried Polish Nail Lounge.
Yesterday was my second visit. This super cute place specializes in natural nail care. You won’t find fake or acrylic nails here. The women who work here all seem to really enjoy their job and are easy to talk to. They also give you a shoulder and neck massage while you wait for your nails to dry. Let me tell you, it was nothing short of amazing! You won’t find those big clunky massage chairs at this place — but let’s be real, are they really all that in the first place? And at Polish, you don’t need them. The women massage your arms after a manicure and massage your legs with hot stones after pedicures. It’s WAY better than the stupid chairs as far as I’m concerned. I brought two friends with me yesterday and we all had a great time!
I also get my eyebrows waxed here and I’m pretty particular about how they look. The owner knew exactly what I wanted and she even corrected them after the last place I had gone had gotten a little carried away.
The attention to detail, the cleanliness, friendliness, the quality! All of this makes this place my new favorite nail spot. I would recommend making an appointment. I was taken right on time with my appointment but I did notice a lot of people walking in without them.

Went to Polish on a whim while visiting a friend in Philadelphia after a really, really trying month. We picked it after a very thorough investigation and much deliberation («My feet are disgusting and my life is a mess. I need a pedicure.» «Look, there’s a place across the street. Let’s check it out.» «Sold.»).
Let me preface this by clarifying that despite the fact that 80 percent of my Unilocal reviews are about hair and nail salons (not really sure how that happened, but I digress), I’m not really into fancy salon stuff. I am a utilitarian when it comes to pedicures. I just want a good leg massage and someone to deal with my feet so I don’t have to. I’m a former ballet dancer and a current roller derby player — my feet have issues and nothing grosses me out more than toenails. Well, okay, bananas do, but I don’t have bananas attached to my body, so toenails are the more pressing issue. I will gladly pay someone to deal with my toes for me so I don’t have to think about them. Ambiance and additional pampering are way down on my list of necessities.
But they sure don’t hurt. The pedicure chairs are comfy armchairs, not the standard pseudo-​fancy-​but-​actually-​terribly-​uncomfortable massage chairs. The pedicure basin had cucumber and lemon in it – my feet got a more nutritious diet than my stomach has had in ages. I was handed delicious cucumber lemonade when I sat down. They gave me an additional shoulder and back massage while I waited for my toes to dry. I felt thoroughly spoiled.
None of that would have mattered a bit had the pedicure not been good, but it was legit. They got us in pretty quickly even though we were walk-​ins and they were busy. They dealt with my calluses and ridiculous ticklishness without mocking me, which was much appreciated. And the leg massage was super solid! I also liked that although I certainly didn’t feel rushed, it wasn’t dragged out in an attempt to make it feel «luxurious.»
I am totally willing to pay $ 25 for a pedicure that covers the stuff I find important — and getting the other stuff thrown in is just an added bonus!

I went here for my wedding manicure after reading all of the excellent reviews. I take full responsibility for being an idiot and trying a new place the night before my wedding. Shame on me!!! I had been traveling and didn’t have time to make an appointment at my regular place.
I asked for a gel manicure and pedicure, and as is the tradition in these salons — they asked me to pay before getting the service.
The girl who did my nails did not soak them at all, she went right in with the cutical cutters and cut my cutical so bad that it started bleeding all over. The manager or owner came over and said she was sorry and that she would give me a refund. Then she mentioned that my cuticals must be sensitive (after a week of having a huge gash/​scab this is NOT the case… she clearly– accidentally– cut me very badly– it’s not my cutical it’s the actual skin on my finger that was cut off). Then the manager took my card again and refunded me for the manicure. She took over the manicure after about 10 more minutes, as it was clear that I was getting upset (I was getting married in 24 hours) and the blood was not stopping. She finished my nails, did an OK job. When I left my finger was bleeding all over. It bled for the next few hours and I had a scab for over a week. I know what a hang nail or sensitive cutical looks like– it does not form a scab for over a week and throb in pain.
Other people seemed happy here so I would just say to take caution if you want to try this place. And never try a new place the night before your wedding :)

How can you beat personable customer service, a comfortable chic environment, and decent prices?!
I have only been here two times to get my eyebrows done, but once this semester ends, I’m planning to get a head-​to-​toe make-​over at this beautiful place.
It’s important to go to a nail salon and know you’re in great hands. For example, I need to know my eyebrows will be taken care of and whenever I come here, the results are always great. Plus, the waxing is harmless. I almost fell asleep when my last technician did my eyebrows!
So, if you want a place to seriously relax and be pampered, check out this lounge. They have my loyalty!

I stopped in for a pedicure as a walk-​in on a Tuesday afternoon. They were pretty slow so they set me up right away. It’s a cozy little boutique so there are only about 3 chairs for manicures and 4 for pedicures, so make an appointment, if possible. They said it is generally ok to take walk-​ins on weekdays but they can’t always accommodate walk-​ins on the busier days.
I told them I was getting married in a few days and wanted something neutral and they picked out a perfect color for me right away (Opi: Bossa Nova). It was beautiful, neutral, and opaque. I loved it. I was told that if it chips at all before the wedding they would fix it for free (that’s some grade A customer service/​quality assurance). The service was amazing and the shop was clean and cute.
There is a flip-​flop policy (to try to be sustainable), so bring your own flip-​flops or they can provide you with some for $ 1. I was set up in a cute, comfy little armchair and my nail tech (I wish I would have gotten her name because she was SO sweet) did such a wonderful job. For $ 25 (not gel) you get an awesome muscle melting leg massage, exfoliating lotion, oil, hot stone massage, and an awesome pedicure. You CANNOT beat that! She took her time and took care in everything she did.
Bonus: Back massage while you wait for your nails to dry.
All in all it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend them to anyone that lives in the area. I will definitely be a return customer.

I think I’ve finally found a good nail salon in Northern Liberties! Fed up with French Nail Bar & Genesis, I decided to give Polish Nail Lounge a try. They just opened a few months ago but already had good reviews so I gave it a shot. I picked a color, paid and was given a points card and a $ 5 coupon for my next visit. The nail tech took her time with my nails. My nails were properly buffed to provide a good surface for the gel to adhere to and my cuticles were pushed back with care. I was even asked if there were any colors that I liked that they didn’t have, and they’d be happy to order them (Malaga Wine by OPI please!). I was also told that if my gel peels or chips within 2 weeks, I can come in and they’ll fix it for free. Based on the good job they did, I doubt I’ll have to take them up on the offer but it’s nice to have that kind of guarantee.
I made an appointment but you can also walk in. The price was reasonable ($ 25 for a gel manicure). They accept credit cards. Everyone was friendly and they took the time to learn my name and converse with me.
You can tell that they care about doing a good job and building a loyal client base. I will absolutely be back.
