To call Power Catering Events just a caterer would be a HUGE understatement. Ashley and her team were more like the glue that held all of my wedding puzzles pieces together to make one big beautiful wedding day! I found Ashley going down the rabbit hole of wedding reviews. We planned our wedding in December and were hoping to find a caterer who could provide a fun and seasonal menu and not the typical fish or steak wedding options. After emailing with Ashley I immediately felt comfortable with her style, prices and loved her suggested menu options. We scheduled a tasting with her soon after that. Ashley offers a really unique tasting option. She comes to your house and cooks for you! After the tasting Ashley worked closely with all of my vendors, made helpful suggestions to improve my ideas and agenda and ensured all of my décor and extra touches were executed. On our wedding day, there wasn’t one thing that was out of place or forgotten. Everything was exactly (probably even better) than we had hoped an imagined. Her staff was extremely attentive to us and all of our guests. I never had to go to the bar or look for an hors d’œuvre all night. Before I noticed my drink was even empty or that I was even hungry, one of her staff members would appear with my drink of choice in hand and a sampling of food. We also had a few older guests with mobility issues and her staff went out of their way to check on them and get them food and drinks throughout the night. When the wedding was over, I could not even count how many people raved about the food and complimented on how nice, attentive and fun the staff was to them. We can’t thank Ashley and her team enough for making our wedding day so perfect and unforgettable.

Ashley and her team were excellent with our corporate cocktail party. The communication is great and she always replied timely. She took the time to understand her client and offered suggestions in areas we were unsure about. We will be repeat customers for sure. You are in great hands with Power Events Catering.

My husband and I planned a large backyard wedding focusing on BBQ & Bourbon. We enlisted Kate at Love & Lollipops to help us coordinate so nothing turned into Father of the Bride mayhem, and Power Catering was their first recommendation. We spoke with Ashley and immediately knew she was a great fit after she sent over a sample menu, which catered to our theme. She also worked within our budget, dietary restraints, incorporating my collection of second hand silver display platter, and our desire to serve homemade brownies and Penn State ice cream for dessert. We also went through her for rentals, which was SO worth it, especially as things did become hectic the week of the wedding with a hurricane forecast. She was able to get an extra tent for our ceremony at an extremely reasonable cost.
I felt great working with someone who was friendly, realistic, and in control. Her staff were wonderful, including our site director, Asia. Normally, I don’t remember the food at a wedding I’ve been to, but I’m so surprised at how many compliments we’ve received (and recipe requests for Sweet Corn Risotto!).
This is a really great business to support and I’m so grateful to have made this easy decision to use Power Catering.

Ashley and her team made our wedding absolutely perfect! From the start Ashley was super easy to talk to and get in touch with, she met us at our non-​traditional wedding site and helped us figure out how to put it all together. Ashley understood exactly what we were going for! She gave great suggestions for table set up, bars, lighting etc. Ashley’s team served appetizers and manned the bars and we had food trucks for the dinner. Ashley was enthusiastic and willing to work with the unusual set up of the venue and was excited to do an additional bar on the Playgound (far from the mansion) For the tasting, Ashley came out to our house and whipped up tons of food for us and our family in minutes and in the midst of a winter ice storm! Ashley made us feel calm and confident that we did not have to worry about a thing with her in charge!
Leading up to the reception Ashley was consistently in touch asking if we needed anything or had questions. Day of, the team was fabulous! The food was amazing, the staff could not have been friendlier, the event coordinator James kindly helped us keep to our timeframe. The tables and bar set ups were better than we could have imagined. We even had a whole plate of appetizers saved for us to eat when we sat down in case we missed something when they were being passed. If any problems arose during the evening we didn’t know about it, which was great! Everything ran perfectly, we could not have asked for a better evening!
If you are looking for a caterer for your event, choose Power Catering, they are simply the best!

I planned a small retirement party for one of my staff. The event was held in Philly although I live in Los Angeles. Ashley was so east to work with. Incredibly responsive (she responded to my initial email the first day), easy to communicate with either by phone or email, and incredibly helpful when it came to planning a menu and making sure we had the necessary dishes, glasses, etc.
I consider myself a foodie and did pretty well with the menu but Ashely did make one suggestion to switch out a dish and the replacement she suggested (wild mushroom arancini) was my favorite dish of the night.
Food was beautifully presented, Ashley and James were fabulous on site and, most importantly, everything was DELICIOUS.
Please, don’t look any further — this is who you are looking for.
My only complaint? I don’t live in Philadelphia. So I won’t be able to work with Ashely as often as I’d like to !!

Post-​wedding update! Ashley (chef & owner), Asia (our event coordinator), and the rest of the Power Catering Events crew were absolutely fabulous for our October 2014 wedding! We had an intimate ~60 person wedding, and the day after our wedding all our friends and family were still raving about the delicious food and the friendly service they received from Ashley’s overly-​accommodating team.
Ashley put up with me through countless emails (easily 75+), an in-​home tasting, and two site walk-​thrus before my wedding. She is approachable, knowledgeable, confident, and professional. Power Catering Events’ multitasking team handled last minute allergy notifications, vegetarian, and vegan dietary restriction requests with ease.
Working within our budget,* Ashley created a personalized selection of tapas that represents our multicultural family. We had an Italian dish for my mother, a Venezuelan dish for my husband, and a Korean dish for me. Somehow Ashley and her team of chefs were able to replicate authentic flavors while ensuring none of the dishes clashed with one another.
In addition to creating phenomenal food, the front-​of-​house team from Power Catering Events went above and beyond to make our wedding a memorable event for all of our family and friends. Asia, our event coordinator, served as a day-​of wedding planner. She had my day-​of gantt chart (it was color coordinated if you must know) memorized and paced our event from ceremony processional to reception cake cutting. Asia was also able to read my mind — making sure my husband and I always had a drink in hand during the cocktail hour, bringing me a large dish of vegetarian hors d’oeuvres just as I started to look around the room for a server, and keeping our tapas warm while we walked around our reception greeting our guests.
Power Catering Events played a critical role in our wedding, and my husband and I will forever remember Ashley and her outstanding team. We look forward to working with Ashley on future special occasion events.

Ashley has done the catering for two of my friend’s weddings, and for a baby shower that I hosted. The service is phenomenal, and her food is unbelievably good. At weddings, you often feel like the catering staff really doesn’t care about you or understand what a big deal your wedding day is. And so many wedding caterers put out a spread that has hits and misses. Things are often overcooked, or cold, or bland, or boring. Ashley is the exception. I have eaten myself into a coma at every event she’s worked! It’s obvious that she loves and takes pride in what she does, and her staff follows her lead. Plus, she’s a small business so when you work with her, you really feel heard. She is a wonderful person, as well as a talented chef. I can’t say enough good things! Just hire her… I know me and everyone in my circle will be hiring her for every event we have from now until she hangs up her apron!

Absolutely perfect. Ashley catered the social event for an academic meeting I chaired. The food was divine, my favorite being watermelon with black sea salt for dipping. Every dish had the perfect blend of flavors. Her staff were impeccable in their interactions: perfect timing, gracious, they were a pleasure to be around. Ashley took charge of the event early on, making my life a thousand times easier. She was responsive, on top of things, and a pleasure to deal with. You would be wise to use her for your next catering event!

Ashley’s service and food was PHENOMENAL.
Every step of the way, from November when we chose her hands down over at least 30 other caterers that we contacted, to the big day, she was quick to respond, had amazing suggestions for our menu and our wedding in general, and worked within our budget.
Not only was the preparation and planning spectacular, but when they big day arrived, everything was delicious. I told myself that I was going to eat my wedding food on my wedding day no matter what anyone said, and I’m so glad that I did. We did a summer kabobs menu complete with the best shrimp I ever had, sweet and scrumptious corn risotto, juicy chicken, and all the fixin’s. I’m also incredibly thankful that they were able to make such a spectacular desert: a tiered strawberry shortcake. The only thing that I didn’t get to eat (photos needed to be taken!) was the amazing passed hor d’oeuvres and cheese display. Boy, it sure did look good. And I was told (when I attempted to live vicariously through those who did get to enjoy it) that it was spectacular.
Her staff were also so helpful and sweet. James, the event manager, did a flawless job ironing out all the kinks: from ensuring that guests found their seats to making sure that everything was on schedule. On top of that, the whole team worked with my day of planner (Kate Herron: also AMAZING) to ensure that all the décor looked perfect.
Ashley also coordinated all of our rentals: from the perfect silverware to a beautiful tent.
Seriously guys: I can’t sing her praises enough. Call her: best caterer in the area, by far.

I hired Ashley to provide some catered hors d’oeuvres, arrange for some rented items (tables, chairs, linens, etc.), and provide serving/​clean-​up help during our family Thanksgiving dinner this past week. She is nothing short of amazing. If you’re looking for a caterer, look no further!
I have had several experiences with caterers in my professional career for large-​scale events, but never for a smaller, family, in-​home holiday. I was a little unsure of having a caterer in my home for such an event but due to various circumstances, I needed the help and got lucky to find Ashley available.
First of all, Ashley is a very sweet, articulate, extremely efficient professional who walks in the door with a sense of purpose and confidence. She asked me to show her what I had set up at that point and a little around the kitchen. In less than 4 minutes she said «ok, got it» and politely took over my kitchen. With a sense of relief and shear joy that someone competent was there to help, I walked out of my kitchen for the remainder of the afternoon/​evening.
I don’t think anyone got two steps closer to the kitchen with an empty glass or a dirty dish in their hands without Ashley instantly appearing, taking the item and disappearing as quickly back into the kitchen. She was very careful to not let anyone «help» do her job.
Ashley was friendly to all of our guests but never lost focus on what she was there to do. I was a little worried about having a stranger in our home to help on a holiday, but she is very likable and has a way of immediately making people comfortable.
I asked Ashley to provide several appetizers. All were mouth-​watering and she arranged everything in a very appealing manner on my dining room table.
The food was so good no one wanted to be too far away from it and hung around the dining room for quite a while.
After we had all finished our dinner, I thought I had better help Ashley in the kitchen just for a few minutes. After all, she was no doubt up to her elbows in dirty dishes, glasses and baking pans like I am when the dinner is over, right? Wrong. I walked in shocked to see my kitchen practically spotless and everything stacked neatly where I had suggested.
I don’t know how this beautiful, delightful professional does it! She makes it all seem effortless. My dinner was small but there is no question that Ashley is extremely capable with any size event you may have. She is responsive, organized, quick-​thinking, creative, and very service-​oriented. On top of all that her food is «to die for».
Ashley will be my «go to» caterer going forward. I can’t wait to work with her again!

Ashley catered my wedding at one of the boathouses on Boathouse Row. She was responsive, professional, and just all around fantastic from start to finish. We got proposals from a number of caterers, and Ashley was the only one who didn’t nickel-​and-​dime us. She considered everything we wanted and gave us an honest, comprehensive, and reasonable estimate. She also had a ton of creative ideas for our event, and great recommendations for other vendors. We went with the photographer and music options she suggested, and were thrilled with both. She was enormously patient and accommodating throughout. Our boathouse venue, while beautiful, was not easy to work with, and Ashley went totally out of her way and picked up the slack — she simply made everything work. Any concern we had or request we made, her response was always, «It’s taken care of, don’t worry about it!»
And the food! Did I mention the food?! We planned our wedding on short notice, so we did not have time to do a tasting. But Ashley inspired such confidence, and her menus were so beautiful, tasteful and varied, that we weren’t worried. The food ended up being spectacular. Our guests raved about it for days after the event. Our venue did not have a kitchen, and she and her staff built one from scratch on the balcony. I wowed our guests with this fact all night … the food was so good and so beautifully presented and served, no one could believe it was prepared outside of a kitchen.
I could not recommend Ashley highly enough! I want to plan another party just to have a chance to work with her again (and a second helping of her short rib!).

We were so lucky to find Ashley to cater our wedding! My husband is a strict vegan and I am a lover of all food including meat and dairy. As soon as we began planning our wedding we knew we wanted a mixed menu of both vegan and non-​vegan fare. After a few disappointing meetings with caterers who presented boring, run of the mill menus or insisted that it would be easier to just have a complete non-​vegan wedding with just a separate meal for my husband (really? it’s his wedding!) we got a recommendation from a friend for Ashley.
From my first communication with her I felt at ease, she totally understood what we wanted and was eager to help us. We were able to put together an amazing tapas menu that was 75% vegan and 100% delicious! She is extremely professional, I emailed her probably a dozen times leading up to the event and she always responded quickly (within 24 hours). Ashley is so confident and prepared she is exactly what any bride needs, I really don’t think our wedding would’ve been the same without her. We had an outdoor wedding in a very unique space (The Magic Gardens) and she had some great ideas on how to make the space work for us. The day of the event was amazing, the food was beautiful and delicious and so many guests commented on how friendly the staff was! I can’t recommend Ashley enough, if you are considering hiring her for your event do yourself a favor and hire her immediately!

I never write Unilocal reviews but I am writing a review for Ashley because she is so great! I used Power Events for a very complicated «potato pizza grilling seminar» event for 50+ food bloggers at a Philadelphia hotel. She was so prepared, so helpful and so on top of it. She made my job so much easier and I could not have done it without her! I highly recommend!

I used Power Catering for a work event – a 200 person work cocktail hour. I could not have been happier with Ashley, her food, and her staff. From the beginning she was extremely helpful, professional and accommodating of our needs and special requests. The team she brought with her on the date of the event were also fantastic. I have never had so many positive comments about a caterer and I’ve used more than a handful before. People were coming up to me all night talking about the delicious food, the incredible service, and the friendly, professional, gracious waitstaff and bartender. I would use Power Catering again in a second, and we gave their cards out to a ton of people who want to use them as well. This is the company you want to work with – believe me!

Ashley has been AMAZING to work with, beginning to end. Not only is she completely reachable and responsive (always called or e-​mailed back within 24 hours) but her food is outstanding. We planned a small, outdoor wedding, and had some very specific ideas. (no sit-​down… but passed tapas, and lots of them… plus passed desserts) Ashley listened carefully and worked with us to stay within our budget, and to create something true to our vision. She made suggestions that were really helpful that we would never have thought to ask for.
The food itself is not what people think of as «wedding food» but actually prepared to perfection with flavor that will leave you wanting more of whatever you just ate. All of the ingredients are fresh, and the combinations of flavor that she suggests are exceptional. Our joke has been that we need her to come live with us so she can cook for us every day.
After the wedding we have continued to hear how amazing the food was from all of our guests. Compliments have also been received on the friendliness and professionalism of her staff.
All in all, we are simply blown away by her work. Anyone planning an event, large or small, would be fortunate to work with Power Events Catering. Her professionalism, creativity, and delicious flavor set her apart from her competition.

We could not have chosen a better catering company for our intimate wedding reception of 17 guests. During the planning Ashley was very responsive to our e-​mails and our many requests and specifications. We have very strict diets and she did research to make sure we could eat from the menu. All the food was absolutely delicious and gorgeously presented. The Power Catering staff decorated our apartment beautifully and was very professional and responsive to anyone who made a request and they cleaned up so nicely at the end. I would recommend the following menu items: the short ribs with aged cheddar, mini crab cakes, agnolotti with brown butter and sage, seared scallops, and pan seared salmon.

Power Catering Events catered and coordinated our outdoor wedding of close to 200 guests, and I can’t say enough about how wonderful Ashley and her staff are. All through the planning process, Ashley was flexible and organized, and really helped create our dream wedding reception in a somewhat challenging location. When we arrived, everything looked stunning, and her staff was exceptional. Our guests can’t stop talking about how delicious the food was, and how great the service was. Ashley and her staff were friendly and professional, and handled all requests efficiently and graciously.
Ashley handles unpredicted problems better than anybody I’ve ever met or worked with. Between hurricanes, last minute flooding that destroyed our food, an intoxicated guest taking out a bar’s worth of glassware, it would be understandable if things were less than perfect for our party. But Ashley solved everything quickly and with apparent ease. She called some friends and worked OVERNIGHT to re-​do our food, and was still energetic and completely together during set-​up and our event. None of our guests were aware of any of it, and we didn’t even have time to stress since she resolved things before we found out!

Power Events catered my wedding in 2009 and it was wonderful! With out going into too much detail, there was a venue change the day of my wedding, but that didn’t stop the Power Events staff, everything was moved I time and they even crated specialty drinks we were afraid it wasn’t allowed. Our family and friends still talk about the food and how wonderful the chicken dinner was! I’m using Power Events now for our babies Christening luncheon!

Ashley Power of Power Catering events is a true professional. She recently catered a «heavy hors d’ouvres» reception for about 50 people at my cousin’s home.
The food was delicious and elegantly presented. The lamb chops with pesto and duck ‘n onion crêpe were highlights. Standards like shrimp shumai and asparagus tempura disappeared along with delectable mini-​mugs of home-​made creamy tomato soup served with grilled cheese triangles.
Her staff of server and bar tenders were on point in both serving and clearing.
The blueberry-​mint lemonade was refreshing and perfect for the event. (The open bar was also great.)
Stationary displays of fruit were as beautiful to look at as they were tasty to eat.
For dessert? Butlered mini desserts like freshly torched crème brûlée and petit lemon tartes.
I am considering hiring her for my own events and would urge Unilocalers to do the same! She does Philly area, suburbs and South Jersey.
