This place is awesome, and Lou is fantastic! I called inquiring about gift for friends and he interrupted his schedule to put together some fantastic and unique items! Took all the«guesswork» out for me and made it soooo easy for me. Thanks Lou! You rock!

OMG! This place has the most outstanding selection of guitars, amps, pedals and accessories I have ever seen. They seem to carry everything from really nice inexpensive guitars to ultra high end guitars, affordable amps to peer level stuff and more pedals than I’ve ever seen. The folks assisting you are very nice. They take their gear very seriously and when you ask questions they seem to have all the answers. They have a policy of not letting you play the instruments unless you are really planning on buying one and I respect this. I have picked up too many«beat to death» guitars at the chain stores that were supposed to be new but looked well used. At Roxy they make sure their gear is fresh. I buy my strings, picks, cables and accessories there now as I want to support the local establishment that is there to help me when I need them. I love those guys!!!

Owner is a nice guy… though made me a little uncomfortable asking me if I had«accepted Jesus into my life yet«…im atheist so no but Gotta give it to him the owner packs ALOT of equipment into that little place… good higher end boutique style amps, nice selection of some really really gorgeous guitars ‚ However many of them are lesser known oddball makes, like«Warrior»??? with REALLY hefty pricetags to bring you back to reality, like smelling salts SO If anything its more like a Gallery than a store Heres where reality hits a bit though The majority of instruments they sell are just not practical Now Im sure all those pretty works of art are worth what theyre selling them for, some are so nice id be afraid to play the damn thing. especially if I didnt have insurance on it However to me if youre gonna shell out 2 grand on lets say, a Heritage Les Paul, which the owner praised very highly, and which isnt Gibson,(its founded by former Gibson employees like G&L and Fender) you might as well just spend it on the real deal. The original retains its value very well… and if need be you can sell a real deal Gibson a hell of alot easier. and unless youre some kind of collector, I cant see spending money on something lesser known that isnt any better than your mainstream companies . For example, Ive played Heritage LP’s before and honestly… IMO not worth the pricetag compared to the original, and I can name about 4 other companies, that Id choose over them . just my .02 Now as for AMPS the place has some kick ass stuff… This was the 1st place I ever tried Orange amps years ago… I now love them, but dont use them Same with ENGL. If youre a collector or looking for a high end piece to add to your colection then this is a good stop for you If youre an everyday working class stiff like most of us, I think theres better options for us out there

This place is absolutely outstanding J.C. is tripping. If he had asked around he would have realized that Lou(who I presume is the owner) will actually price match most things in the store(at least has for me; I bought a Pedal Pro board here and he actually gave me a cheaper price that guitar center). I buy strings here all the time and stop at the shop at least once every couple of weeks. This place is guitar and boutique pedal heaven. Literally they have such an amazing selection of guitars, but be forewarned this is not guitar center-type low quality stuff. This gear here is all top of the line, and it is expensive, but then again it’s the same price you’d pay anywhere else. I’m also pretty certain that you could negotiate expensive products here as long as you are reasonable. I just had my bass, and two guitars set-up here. It was actually pretty expensive(Bluebond I’ve heard is cheaper, but I can’t attest to quality), and I was a bit set-back until I got there and was shown what was actually done to my guitars — not only was intonation and so-forth perfect, but the minor electrical issues, bridge cracking, strap holder looseness etc., was fixed completely. It was the best set-up I’ve ever seen done on guitars and after having them back for a day and playing through them all… damn they sound completely amazing. This place is definitely going to be my go-to spot for getting my gear serviced and picking up boutique pedal gear. Also, the guy who I presume is the owner Lou is a wealth of knowledge on everything related to guitars and very willing to stay late to help you out and share his knowledge, which I’ve never gotten from any other guitar shop(hello wannabe rockstars working at Guitar Center I’m talking to you…). If you are looking for a high-end new guitar, amp, or boutique pedals go to this store and talk to Lou personally — not only will you end up with something either cheaper or pretty close to price you will get anywhere else for the same product, but you have someone who really cares about guitars that will service/set-up/ensure your satisfied with your purchase. I’m so happy I found this place after recently moving to Roxborough this is literally the guitar shop I’ve always wanted to have around.

Overpriced. The store was a wreck, couldn’t find a thing. Definitely did NOT find any service there, either. What I did find was a a clerk too busy talking on the phone to be bothered with making a sale. Don’t waste your time.

The Short Version: This place is an amp lovers heaven. The Long Version: I decided to take a short trip up to Roxy Guitars. When you first walk in, it looks like a small average guitar shop, but if you look closer, you’ll see it is anything but ordinary. They have pretty much ever pedal every made, nicely displayed in a huge set of cases. But the real magic happens when you venture upstairs. Never before in any guitar shop have I seen such a collection of amplifiers. Matchless, Buddha, Suhr, Engl, Marshall, Fender, Orange, Vox, Diveded by 13 and many many more. It was like I had died and gone to amp heaven. There were so many I was actually a little overwhelmed with where to start. Lou, the owner, and his associate were amazing. I spent about 2 hours playing about 5 amps with there help, then had him draw up a quote to order me a custom one. They were amazing. In addition to the unbelievable assortment of amps, they have dozens of high end guitars. Many boutique and custom shop one of a kind guitarswith exotic woods. They have a ton of a guitar called a Warrior, which is a brand I have never heard of until today, but they seem amazing. The inlay work was remarkable. I feel lucky to have discovered this gem and look forward to doing business with them. I will be back soon!
