The Paley is a good fit for Temple’s campus, with an emphasis on relevant research materials for students, like the library reserve for classes and the constantly filled computer area. There’s a decent mixture of academic reference material and casual reading to be found here. From my experiences the help has always been helpful. The floors and bathrooms aren’t the cleanest. But overall Paley has the resources one would expect to find at any college library, plus more. The neatest part of the Paley is the downstairs collections center, home to many rare books and early printings dating back to the Renaissance.

I should first preface this review by saying that I love books and libraries. it’s rare for me to meet a library that I haven’t liked. As a Temple grad student I use Paley sparingly but for the times when one needs to reference good ol’ hardcopy, vintage 5lb + copies of some theoretical perspective that you may, or may not find useful in your research. well this is the place to go. the little coffee/tea stand is a nice plus when you need to get caffeinated before hunkering down with some desperately old volume :)
