Am I really the first reviewer for Samuels?
If you’re willing to deal with the inconvenience of having to drive to the stadium complex, enter a cold room with ice littering the floor, and order your seafood from a guy in a white coat with no price list in sight and no seafood that you can check out before you buy it… this is the place for you!
Because if you’re willing to deal with the nuisance factor, you’ll get the freshest and best quality seafood you can buy. It’s coming into the port of Philadelphia and then going into Samuels and Son warehouse.
The prices are great and I’ve never been less than ecstatically happy with the quality of the seafood here as compared to what you can get at Whole Foods or my local fish monger.
Granted, I only shop here when I’m going to entertain or make a special meal, but I never regret making the trip and standing in the cold waiting for the fish to magically appear from the back room.
