I go to Temple and this is my favorite coffee shop around campus. The staff is awesome and always smiling. They have a wide variety of drinks and syrup to choose from to add to your coffee and latte. I always get one of those flavored coffee, which is sweet, creamy and delicious… when made right. The only bad thing about Saxby’s is that their are not completely consistent with their latte. Occasionally, there’s going to be too much milk, or too much coffee. Their apple and cheese danish, and muffins are delicious too. Definitely try it out.

Fast, friendly service. The chalkboards have colorful latte options. The bakery display is always filled with fresh muffins and croissants. Highly recommend!

The iced black eye is really rich and tasty. Even with room for cream, it doesn’t take away from the bold taste.

Die hard fan of theirs for years. Great friendly staff and wonderful coffee every time! Blows Starbucks away. Wish they had more seating but it’s a small place. Some say it’s pricey, I say it’s worth it.

The staff are definitely very nice but all their syrups taste very artificial. My first drink was one of their specialty lattes and it tasted fake and very sweet. The second time I got a vanilla latte and it was also very sweet and fake. On top of that, my milk wasn’t steamed properly. It was lukewarm when I got it and the foam was nonexistent. I also didn’t taste the espresso and the drink was watered down in general. Good customer service doesn’t make up for bad lattes

Had the grossest latte of my life today. I almost gagged after I drank it. The color was also really weird I have no idea what they did to it. 5 $ for a coffee and it tasted like shit.

I love the British Islander! Nice cozy place though I don’t usually sit down because I just use the place for a quick pick me up before class. They have a lot of cool combinations of coffee that I still haven’t tried yet. Great place for coffee

Possibly the best coffee on campus. The only REAL alternative is cloud coffee, but cloud doesn’t have a place to sit and the hours aren’t as good. Everybody that works here is incredibly nice and the coffee is great.

As someone who works next door, I frequent this Saxby’s. But the convenience wouldn’t matter if the place was terrible — and this is the opposite. The staff is SUPER hard-working and friendly. The drinks always come out correct, there’s plenty of seating, and it fits in perfectly with the Temple scene. Great job!

Went in to grab some free iced coffee during their promotions and the idea of it is cool but the execution was horrible, it was so bitter that 95% of it was sugar packets and that couldnt even do the trick, threw it out after a couple of sips

Stopped by with some co-workers to grab an iced coffee during their free iced coffee promo. It was so bitter and watered down that I should’ve dumped at least three packets of sugar and more cream into that 12oz cup. I know Saxbys is trying to draw customers away from Starbucks, but they failed on this one. I’m glad that the Starbucks is located on the bottom floor of my building because I’d definitely choose Starbucks over Saxbys.

There’s a limited number of places to get your caffeine fix on Temple’s campus– this is probably my favorite one. Saxby’s is generally less crowded than the Starbuck’s in the Tech Center, yet is right on campus as opposed to the Barnes & Noble café at Broad & Cecil B. Moore. Staff here are consistently friendly and you can usually find a table to get some work done. On nicer days you can sit in one of the tables outside. If you don’t have access to Temple’s wireless, I believe they have their own wireless here too. +1 for having soy milk(unlike the Dunkin Donuts on Cecil B.). My only gripe is that I find it pretty cold in there most days.

Cloud Coffee beats it. The monopoly is over. You don’t need their decent music or their vibe because campus has plenty of places for that. Time to improve, Saxby’s.

This place is all about the coffee, and that’s what I expect at a coffee shop. The staff are very friendly and patient, usually more so than the customers who are jostling for position in line and walking into each other smacking their backpack into your face. It’s a tiny location, especially on the ordering/counter side, so enter with caution. Sometimes the bathroom and the prep counter for sugar/cream/straws gets a little messy but I’ve only noticed that at times when the customer population is swollen inside, all the seats are taken, and there’s a line… so it’s completely understandable that’s not a priority. I like that you can just step outside to the tables on Liacouras Walk if you don’t want to stand around with the undergrads«doing homework» at tables inside. Think they have free wifi too, but then, the entire Temple campus has wifi… so…I couldn’t really tell you. They also seem to go out of their way lately to add on sugar-free flavors and advertise a low-fat and/or sugar-free variety of whatever the seasonal special drinks are. Best place on campus for a caffeine fix.

This is my favorite coffee place by far and i had to hunt this one down after they closed the boarders on chestnut(their café was basically saxbys), but the best part is they offer level up, the new way to pay with your phone! Its(Finally!)completely free and totally safe to use. You just hook your card up to your phone and pay through an encrypted bar code. No one ever gets your card info so you’re safe from identity theft. Plus level up acts as a loyalty club so as you spend money at the places you normally shop you get money back. This location is offering $ 5 for every $ 50 spent, which if you’re like me is basically your monthly morning coffee fund. If you haven’t gotten level up yet use this code to get a bonus $ 5 global credit to use at any level up carrying location!!! 9WHRC2 and no worries the code never expires! come enjoy philly with a few extra bucks!!! ^.^

When I was a student at Temple, I would spend hours here doing homework. They have a tremendous coffee(and general beverage) selection, and they play great music. They have their own WIFI. Also, it’s warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Hit it up.

This is a typical Saxbys, with a billion drink and flavor options. However, the one thing that sets it apart is the super duper awesome staff! They’re always nice and don’t even blink an eye when your order is ridiculously complicated. I come here sometimes just to avoid the terrible service at Starbucks. That being said, I wouldn’t be upset if they lowered the volume on the indie music just a notch…

This is the on campus antidote to the anti-starbucks coffee drinker. Decent coffee, good teas, and generally peaceful and quiet during the school day so it’s an excellent pit stop for a study break.

The coffee its not the best around campus. There are just too many flavors and I haven’t enjoyed any that I have tried. Plus, the hot chocolate is not worth getting, as it tastes like a cheap mix. Why is it so difficult to find a good hot chocolate? Now they have frozen yogurt. I tried the tart with strawberries and liked it a lot. I would definitely return here for frozen yogurt, but not any coffee.

It’s one of the better places to get coffee on Temple’s campus. It’s an average coffee shop, a good place to hang out between classes. They take payment with LevelUp, so they get my vote.
