Smak Parlour

This place is the coolest. The cutest clothes and I scored with accessories. Customer service was spot-​on. Very laid back. Fun atmosphere.

Such a great little boutique with such bold and unique clothing and accessories. Always look forward to holiday shopping her for the woman on my list. Great jewelry selection too.

Really cute store! Nice selection of dresses and tops. I only left with one item, but that’s pretty good considering I had absolutely no intention of shopping. I was in the area for a conference and decided to pop in while i was out exploring. The salesgirl was SO personable and sweet too. Definitely check this spot out if you are in the area.

Such a cute little place! I came in here just to browse their selection of maxi dresses– the girl at the counter greeted me and gave me my space– not in a rude way though– she was very friendly and was working on something with the merchandise. I picked up a few dresses that were cute and very reasonably priced which is when she came over to ask if I wanted to start a fitting room, put the clothes in a room and went back to her work and struck up a conversation –I just came from another store where the sales people were in my face from the moment I walked in, so this was a really nice experience! She even threw a few other dresses in the fitting room which was really nice because they were super cute just too short:(Although I didn’t buy anything this time, I will definitely be back. She said they get new inventory every few days.

Had a clothing issue. So I went to their truck on Callowhill Street. Lots of great tops and dresses to puck from. Found a really cute dress and it was on sale too! Will definitely be visiting the store in Old City.

If Modcloth were to open a store, this is exactly what it would be like. So if you like Modcloth, you’re going to LOVE this store! They sell a lot of the same brands and even specific items that Modcloth carries. It’s actually nice to try on things first, instead of ordering it from the website and trying it on and sending it back, etc.
I tried on maybe 15 things and the salesgirl was so nice, even though I knew it was so many clothes for her to put back! She was nice enough to help me decide between things and give her honest opinion, and I love that in a salesgirl!
I ended up buying a red polka dot dress I’d been eyeing up on Modcloth for a while and a cute polka dot scarf (you see a theme here?). The prices are pretty comparable to Modcloth, if not a little less potentially.
If I lived in Philly I’d definitely be stopping in here often (like every week!), so it’s a good thing I don’t! But every time I’m in Philly you better know I’m stopping here!

Really cute place with a lot of pin up girl type dresses. Kind of overpriced though, but not crazy expensive like some other pin up boutiques I’ve encountered. I actually have a dress they had on the rack already, which I found brand new on eBay 20 bucks less online. Same exact print, just slightly different cut. Style is totally up my ally though, couldn’t help but go in to browse. If you are looking for something cute, quirky, and don’t mind paying a bit more than what you can find online, this is a good place to shop!

Lots of fashionable and cute things at this shop which of course has more items than the pop-​up truck. I didn’t even know where this shop was until I walked past for first Friday. All types of clothing for warm and cool weather, right now. Jewelry and accessories, too. Prices are reasonable for a boutique. Sizes run small and are challenging for my curvy frame. But it won’t stop me from returning and checking out the latest.

Loved this shop! It’s affordable and has a range of styles. What impressed me most was their great selection of size large items. (This is my problem with most boutiques — lots of cute things in small sizes, next to nothing in large.) The store displays were impeccably arranged — they clearly put a lot of thought into their look. Katie was very friendly & helpful without being overbearing. Overall, it was a fun place to shop!

Bear with me, this will be a long one.
I usually don’t shop at boutiques — or anywhere in Old City, really – because the word «boutique» immediately makes me think «too expensive for me.» However, since I was looking for a dress for a job interview, I declared today a «treat yo’self» day and decided I’d break the bank a little. I turned to Unilocal and made Smak Parlour my first stop on treat yo’self day based entirely on the positive reviews by the rest of you Unilocalers.
As it turns out, I didn’t have to break the bank. Katie greeted me from behind the counter as I walked in, but wasn’t pushy in the least. I asked for her help in selecting a job interview outfit because I can barely dress myself, and I knew I needed something that looked nice and professional, but could also be on the stylish side (as in, I am interviewing somewhere that isn’t very formal). I told her what style of dresses work best with my body, and she went out of her way to find at least eight pieces that might work for me. Even as I was trying on the dresses, she kept walking around the store and found even more things for me to try on.
The dress I ended up buying was affordable and stylish, and something I could see myself wearing for fun as well, not just for an interview. Katie and Abbie gave me suggestions as to how I could wear the dress in different ways (different belt, shoe, tights possibilities).
The rest of the items in the store are all pretty affordable, and they have tons of cute and original accessories, sunglasses, and items that work well as gifts (if you can manage to not keep them for yourself!).
I will be returning to this store in the future, and I recommend you try it out if you haven’t already.

Smak is a great place to find some unique and well priced clothing and jewelry in old city. The staff is always super helpful and very nice. They have quite the selection of clothing as opposed to many of the other local boutiques. Definitely check it out if you’re in the area and looking for something cute.

Smak Parlour is, by far, my favorite boutique in the city. Abby and Katie, the duo who run the store, have impeccable taste! I’ve purchased a couple things from their spin-​off fashion truck, but as of today, I made my first in-​store purchase at their Old City location. I had been eyeing a faux-​fur collared, fitted coat with an A-​line bottom for months, and I finally broke down and bought it. I couldn’t be happier as it is adorable. Although this is an independent boutique, and not a chain store, I find that the prices are reasonable here. I’ve purchased a blouse for $ 30 and my very swanky coat was $ 110.

What a great store! It had been on my bookmarked list for quite a while but i finally stepped foot in there on my Philly staycation this week. Instantly I began pulling clothes to try on, the staff were extremely helpful and I also enjoyed the knickknacks and jewelry. I ended up a very satisfied customer with multiple dresses and some great jewelry. Can’t wait to come back!

That I haven’t written a review of Smak Parlour is sacrilege. This Old-​City boutique carries everything from vintage dresses (my current favorite is a 1950s style halter (or not) frock) to modern off-​the-​shoulder angora sweaters.
The accessories range from catty ‘60s feminist flasks to 4 finger rings to dainty domino earrings. There are purses and scarves and shoes and fascinators galore. The sales boxes contain items so loved that only a few stragglers remain… only, presumably to make room for new inventory.
Apologies that this review is nothing more than a few lines… if you’re a girl, and you like neat clothing, and you relish plowing through mall racks with children interweaving between aisles, then Smak is your place.
Briefly: Smak is so awesome-​sauce that I willingly go there… instead of buying all my things online.

I don’t know why I haven’t written a review for Smak Parlour already; it is my favorite boutique in Philadelphia and I receive the most great comments and questions on where I shop on everything I buy here.
I first started shopping at Smak a little over six years ago and bought this gorgeous, backless, romper that I could wear with any heel. An addict was born!
This is the type of store you buy that heel you always wanted, but have no idea what you would wear with it and need that perfect dress. A store where you want to buy the perfect gift for any holiday (I have bought my friend a bracelet from Smak for the last four years. I love how pieces of jewelry are unique and Abby and Katie support local Philadelphia artists).
This is the place where all of your summer dresses live and where your sarcasm flourishes in card form in the back.
Where being a girl is celebrated and being a woman is cherished.
But more specifically for me, this is where my boyfriend can shop, receive help from Abby on what to buy until finally he figured out how to shop on his own and he feels comfortable enough to keep coming.
Smak Parlour has something for everyone at great prices (from jewelry under $ 20, lunch bags in the shape of purses, Dresses that last forever AND are timeless or the perfect mix of hard and soft), but a place that makes everyone feel welcome no matter what you buy.
If Smak were a person, They wouldn’t only be your best friend– they would be that one particular cousin that happens to be your best friend. Automatically a part of every season — they just fit that way and always will.

What a supremely awesome little shop! Stopped in here on a quickie weekend trip with my hubby to celebrate our anniversary, and Smak was on my list of boutiques I wanted visit. All the girls that work here are so friendly and sweet– I picked up a shirt I loved and tried in on, and the girls told me it had just come in that morning and they were stoked to see someone try it on because they really liked it too. It was so unique and cute I bought it (obvi) and they were excited I found something I really liked. Love the friendly atmosphere.
The store is so cute and has a ton of great stuff for the ladies– and lots of fun accessories and home items too, which I’m a sucker for. A little on the spendy side but you’ll get that with small boutiques, and it’s worth it to support small business :) I’m a fan!

this store is like mod cloth but in real life. i LOVE everything they sell here!
the buyers have great taste and the prices are a little higher than the quality but its always nice to support a small business.
they have stuff here at smak that you will not find anywhere else!

Let me start off by saying that I am a dude and I first went into the Smak to find something fabulous for my lovely wife. I was a bit overwhelmed at first, I mean with all of that pink, it was like my testosterone was being sucked out of me. I had no idea about the sizes other than «she’s is about this tall and this big» (using hand gestures like an idiot). The girls at the store were so attentive, helpful and extremely friendly. I was able to get a couple of dresses with guarantees to take them back to exchange if the sizes were not right. Not only did my wife like the dresses, they actually fit great!!! (Hi-​five girls at Smak Parlour!!!)
Since then, my wife and I have frequently returned for their first Friday events and to take our out-​of-​town niece there to shop. *I can ONLY give 5 stars?

Smak Parlour is a cute boutique but I never have any luck finding something that works for me. Yesterday was my second visit and I once again took an armful of clothing into the dressing room. Dress after dress was just too short and almost all of them had cinched waists which is all wrong for my body type. It was a sad shopping day.
The sales girls were sweet and were happy to run downstairs to check for other sizes when I couldn’t find mine on the floor. After talking with a friend today who swears by the place, we’ve decided to return and focus only on tops, which will hopefully end in success. To be continued!

I can’t believe that it has taken me so long to go into this store… The style is that super cute vintage styled clothing, with a super cute modern flare. They have an amazing staff and totally fabulous clothes! It is amazing that they only get 6 of each style and that is it! They get 2-​Small, 2-​Medium, and 2-​Large in each style (which is what prompted me to get one of my shirts) and their stock continually rotates.
I don’t think that there is anything that could make this store any better. The girls in there were so nice, they helped me the whole time, started a fitting room for me, just made the experience amazing!
They also have super cute gift type items in the back of the store. They have purses, jewelry, home wares, lingerie, and some shoes. If you are ever close or passing by, do yourself a favor and go in this store!!!
I can’t wait to go back!!! :D
