That Flower Guy

His flowers — sad and pitiful. But the dude himself? A mystery wrapped in a riddle. Emily is right… he is always out on the median at Stenton Avenue and Bethlehem Pike no matter what it’s like outside. I don’t know how in the world he makes any money selling those poor roses. There was a week that he had a substitute out there and I was afraid that maybe he had died or something. He’s just that darn reliable. When I am sitting at the traffic light I try to figure out what his name might be. I’m going with Rumplestilskin because nothing else seems right.

I love this guy! You know who I am talking about– this guy stands on the median between Stenton Ave and Bethlehem Pike day in day out. He is there when it is sunny and hot, there when it is freezing cold, and there when it rains, sleets or snows… always with a smile selling his tiny terrible flower arrangements.
He pees in the woods across the street.
Sometimes I get to talk to him when I am stuck at that long light– and he is always nice. He reminds me of Idi Amin– but MUCH, MUCH nicer.
Tonight I bought 3 small dying roses from him.
