I just moved to Chestnut Hill and was looking to get my nails done for my birthday. I started my search on Unilocal and read all of the most recent reviews for the nail salons in the area. This place was certainly not the best in comparison. I decided I was going to try on of the nail salons on Germantown ave since they had better reviews but did not realize they closed at 6pm, which is what time I got in my car to go unfortunately. I decided to give this place a try since it was a block away and they were open until 7. I walked in and they sat me right away for my pedicure. The water was a little too hot for me without them asking if they should adjust it but it really wasn’t a big deal to me. I had a technician start my pedicure a few minutes later I had another technician start my manicure during my pedicure. I understood they were closing soon and I was also in a bit of a rush so this did not bother me at all. I normally would have gotten a gel manicure but the reviews for their gel manicures were so awful I just went with a regular polish manicure. I was very pleased with how my nails turned out. My nail polish did not chip or peel for a week and a half! And that was regular polish. I will definitely be back. Only cons for me, it was not very spa like and it smelled very strongly of acetone(more than usual). I am giving 3 out of 5 stars because this is certainly not the nicest salon, but they did a great job and were friendly.

Awful. Waited over an hour after being told it would only be 20 minutes. Dirty salon. I asked her not to cut my cuticles, because I hardly ever get them cut(I don’t need it often and I didn’t feel that things were sanitary enough at this place.) She seemed annoyed. She got gel polish all over my skin… Not just the cuticle, but on my actual skin around my nail! I asked her to fix it before applying the top coat, but it was too late. She then blamed me for not having my cuticles trimmed! So now, barely 3 days later, they’re almost all peeling off. Do not go here!!!

I have been supporting this nail salon for over two years and I have to personally say, that I definitely see a difference in not only customer service but also technique. I am unfortunately not impressed at all by the services of this nail salon. I routinely would say that I get my nails and feet done every two weeks and I have become increasingly disappointed. I get the gel nail polish and for this salon the nail color selection is very limited and some colors the run out without replenishing. The customer service is horrible with not being acknowledged when you enter the nail salon to doing a horrible job to your nail and toes. The application of how the polish is applied is sloppy and at times can be a rush job, especially if there are others customers who are waiting. The staff used to be friendly, but seemed to have forgotten what customer service is all about. I’ve seen their«favorite» customers go before other customers who have arrived before them go first. Overall this place I will not be going to anymore and I feel like they need to be more friendlier especially when you have a paying customer. The service needs to be more consistent. I’m not asking for a handout or free service, but I am asking for friendly service, more colors, better application of polish and maintenance of nail service because honestly my money can spend anywhere and I honestly will take my money else where. It’s all about experience not just getting your nails done and leaving, you want to feel like a valued customer and unfortunately I don’t feel this way here.

Clean and friendly spot. I recommend them for pedicures and waxing. Pedicures are pretty long lasting. Their gel nails chip very quickly though — after a 3 – 4 days.

I am sorry to have to write a negative review. This place is in my neighborhood and I certainly would like to be able to return. I went in for a manicure and pedicure. I was quoted a price of $ 40.00 for a mani/pedi. It is normally $ 25.00 for the special but, I need gel polish on my nails as I use my hands a lot. I went in with healthy long nicely shaped nails and smooth cuticles and exited without. I do believe that the young man tried due to the length of time that I spent there(2 hours) but, was just not capable. I asked that my nails remain oval and they were filed down to rectangles of uneven proportions. I asked for a certain color gel polish and asked that they pick a color for my toes to match. The gel colors were limited and some unavailable and when I questioned the color chosen, a woman came over and treated me as if I were taking up too much time. My nails were put under a gel hardening light that kept turning off, my cuticles were cut ragged and had pieces sticking out, the gel Polish was applied unevenly and onto my newly ragged cuticles, my hands weren’t moisturized. I will stop here. I’m sure the reader gets the idea. The pedicure was a little better though the water was barely tepid and the chair was broken and would not recline. I can only say that I was happy that they used a bag of sealed sterilized tools. At least I am not overly concerned that I will get an infection from this procedure. I attempted to discuss the fact that I was unhappy with the same women who was short with me about the color choice. I am not very aggressive at complaining. I merely said that I was unhappy and showed her my uneven nails with polish on my newly ragged cuticles. She responded snippily that they looked fine and offered no recourse of satisfaction. I then paid the quoted price. I will not be returning.

I have found my new favorite nail spot. Clean, polite and extremely thorough. I had a half leg wax and a pedicure. I can tell the quality if a leg wax by how thou rough they are. The cheap places wax your legs and if you are lucky they will oil them to get the residual wax off. Not only did she oil my legs, she went back with tweezers and got any hairs that had eluded the wax. The only thing I would wanted added would be a talc powder rub to begin the wax. This helps to clean the legs of the natural oils so the wax works better. The pedicure was nice, typical. The technician was thorough, gave a message to my legs and exfoliated my callouses. All together, I’ll definitely be back.

This place is okay. I came here 2months ago for a mani and pedi. While seated I was able to read through the Unilocal review. I liked my pedicure(really like the color I chose). My Mani was a gel manicure and I think I had the lady someone else referenced as doing 1 finger at time. She did do a finger at a time and had you place it under UV light but it was with alternating hands. So you will do your left pinkie, then while you put that in UV light, she will do the right pinkie. then left ring finger.etc. The gel manicure didn’t last too long but I’ve had that happen at a couple of places as well. I think I will return for pedi but still searching for a good mani place.

I wanted to like this place since it was clean, resonable priced and low-key but I don’t plan to return. I went for a gel manicure on a Friday at around 6pm. There was a tech available right away and she was fast and efficient. However, by the following Monday morning(only a two days later), I already had a chipped nail. I returned to the salon during my lunch break and they fixed the nail free of charge. However, the next morning another nail had chipped. I’m not sure if the original tech did a bad job, or if the supplies were old. I choose one of the shellac brand colors, since in my experience it seems to last longer than the other brands. I’ve gone to a variety of random salons for gel manicures and the earliest I’ve ever had a chip was only after at least a week and a half.

Great service. Kept pretty clean for the most part. I always get a simple mani or mani/pedi. You can’t beat the price around this area. There is usually someone available to help you as soon as you arrive, or shortly thereafter. My nails always look great(except when I get home and impatiently mess them up…). They have a decent selection of nail polishes(including OPI& Essie). It’s not a fancy spa, but we don’t always needs that for a quick mani/pedi, do we? They do accept credit cards, but not for tips. This seems a little sketchy, but I try to roll with it and bring some cash.

Get there a little before they open if going on a Saturday when the weather starts to get warm. Quick service, and for a $ 30 mani-pedi not bad.

Great, speedy service. Nice and clean as well. I came here for a quick polish change but I discovered it was much nicer than other area salons they had plenty of friendly, capable nail techs on hand. I watched someone get a pedicure done and it seemed delightful. I’m giving them five stars bc as far as manis and pedis go, I liked what I saw and there was a great selection of nail polish which can be hard to find. I’ll definitely be back here soon.

Excellent service. Clean, nice environment. Careful yet efficient techs. I watched them clean the spa tubs while there — thorough job. I got a french shellac mani for $ 30. Looks great, is wearing well. Be advised, they will remove your old gel/shellac by soaking in acetone, however they did oil my nails well afterward. They take credit and debit, but only take cash for tips, so come prepared. Weeknights M-Thu are the best nights to go. They’re doing it right.

This is a no frills salon, but always efficient and a great price, plus the manicures last. They handle large volume and have great massage chairs. They use sterile packs of tools each time and clean tubs well between customers. $ 10 manicure, $ 20 pedicure. No appointment needed.
