The Rhawnhurst

Was in there on a saturday night recently and it suxd. The two bartenders were bothered when asked to to their job. Was a hint of urine in the air too. Bartenders seemed conceited like they were good looking. One was tall, not dark, and not handsome. The other was taking care of a few people that looked as if they were high on crank… and not personable. Looked like he could have been Ned Beatty’s stunt ass from the movie Deliverance.

Wow. Let me start by saying I did not have a chance to taste the food. My husband and I decided to check it out because I’ve heard good things. I have never felt more unwelcome in any bar or restaurant. The inside is really small and didn’t look like a restaurant at all like I expected. I assumed they were no longer serving food because no one was eating. It look like a typical dingy Northeast bar The crowd was much older than I thought which isn’t what turned me off. The big issue was the bartender.
He stared at us like we didn’t belong and was not at all friendly. My husband stated he wasn’t sure what he wanted yet and the bartender literally stared at him for at least 30 seconds. The other people in the bar were very unfriendly looking as well so we quickly finished our drinks to leave. This man then asked very rudely how we were paying as though he didn’t trust us. You don’t get businesd by treating customers like this!
This was the most bizarre experience we’ve ever had. Sure, it wasn’t a scene for our age group. But to make potential customers feel that akward and unwelcome is rude and unnecessary. I will be sure to spread the word about this place so that none of my friends or co-​workers support such a terrible establishment. I’d rather give 0 stars.

If you haven’t been here in awhile, give it a go! Just this week, they introduced a new menu and a new executive chef — the guy from the Blue Duck. We stopped in to try it out since the posts on Facebook sounded yummy. The food was awesome! It would definitely be a 5 star rating except that they are still working out some kitchen kinks and we had to wait awhile for the food to come out. But at least it was worth the wait! We’ll definitely be back to try the other menu offerings like the pulled pork egg rolls and the funnel cake. Hoping I can up this rating to a 5 star!

Yeah, it’s a dive bar. It has nice people, much improved food (burgers are great) and a shuffleboard table. We like the place.

Just got back to this place after many years not going there since now I know a guy that does open mic on Wed nite.
Would be great to have the kitchen open until at least 10:00 pm so you could go listen to some good music while you eat and have some drinks !!

No more draft beer?! That’s a step in the wrong direction. Food is great, if you catch them when the kitchen is open, but how do you no longer have taps?!

This place has REALLY good burgers, the best I’ve had in a month of Sundays, better than all the other places with «burger» or «five» or anything else in their names who specialize in burgers. Great tempura onion rings too. Not a fancy place, but definitely worth seeking out if you want a great burger.

If you want a dive bar with charm, Rhawnhurst Café delivers. I’ve been many times now and every time have been a lot of fun. they have good food, but they dont always have the kitchen open which sucks when you just want to stop in for a quick meal and a beer
