Thomas Jefferson University College of Health Professions

I had thoroughly done research as to which university to attend and am disappointed that I fell for the Thomas Jefferson University scam. Over $ 40,000/year for utter disorganization, unnecessary obstacles placed in our way, complete lack of communication/​teaching yet high demands of output from the students. While I worked very hard for my As, the majority of the class blatantly cheated on exams & assignments with NO consequence. Our clinical rotation assignments were a complete mess that is beyond words.
We didn’t have guidance, no true program director after ours quit in the middle of the fall semester, and no idea as to what was going on most of the time yet expected to be aware of everything. It is very bad when the majority of the class reaches out for help from higher ups at school and have our list of concerns belittled. Basically we were set up for failure from the start.
I could write paragraphs upon paragraphs of the wrong doings, discrimination against English speaking students, lies we were fed, and injustices endured in such a toxic/​corrupt environment but I’ll leave it at this — Please don’t be blinded by the reputation of Thomas Jefferson University.

I hate this school and have since they failed me out because I was 0.13% off and after I even begged them b/​c I was going through a very close terrible, tragic death in my family.
ALSO… for graduation tickets they are giving us 3 tickets, 1 of the 3 have to STAND in an «overflow» section and watch it on a TV!!!
This school has a mission to be this all caring, wonderful and dedicated institution but in reality… it is just another
MONEY HUNGRY BUSINESS.
I can’t wait to leave. If people would look at the infrastructure here beyond just this place’s name, I think many would have a very different opinion.

This place is an unorganized mess. From the classroom education to the registrar and financial aid department.
I am so sorry I went to this school, but I really did not know any better. My undergrad. school boasted highly of it, so I thought it would be a good choice. I should have done more research. And, I only blame myself for the outcome. Hopefully, I can warn others of the stuff (the real truth about Jefferson University) that I was never told about.

There are a lot of things wrong with this school. But, there are two major problems with the College of Health Professions at Thomas Jefferson University that stand out the most: 1.) the education is lacking in so many respects and 2.) the financial aid department is a nightmare and will ruin your life.
This has got to be the worst learning environment — ever! The instructors are washed up and burned out and it shows in every way. I am still finding out about how much I was NOT taught as I pursue my career. The building is very old and un-​kept. It is literally falling apart every day! To say the classrooms are small would be an overstatement (for some classes, several of us would have to sit OUTSIDE of the classroom ON THE FLOOR! to listen to the incompetent lectures) And, it is in a high crime area where women are often raped — there are even local murders, but they try to hush it all up. So, every day I had to walk on the same streets where women were raped and people murdered, and TJU would pretend it did not exist. And, it gets worse!
If you make it through this school — you will be left dealing with a very large debt. It costs over $ 21,000 per year to attend this hole in the wall (not including all the hidden costs). And, if you need to take out loans — look out. They make everything just about impossible. They gave me an extra difficult time when I was applying for loan money. I had to have several meetings with many different directors before I got their limited cooperation. They are the most incompetent financial aid department I have ever encountered (and I have attended 2 different undergrad schools). But, it still gets worse!
After graduation, the headache that is Thomas Jefferson University continues. I was super excited to be done with this place. I moved away from campus to a new house and began to live my new life. I was making good money and on top of everything. When I was in school, I had to take several loans out unfortunately — so I was/​am poor — but none the less done and happy. Well, to my surprise, it was not over. Now, the incompetence of the financial aid department has just hit high speed. I should have known better.
Within the past 2 months, I had two debt collection agencies call me regarding delinquent accounts with Thomas Jefferson University. They said I was in negative standing and that they have reported this to credit agencies. I am a very organized and financially responsible person — so this came as an outrageous shock!
As I looked into it further, I discovered that Thomas Jefferson University never attempted to contact me regarding my loan repayment despite my constant communication with them. When I moved off campus, I contacted them with my new address and asked them to forward all repayment plans and etc. to my new address when they are due. I even have an email account on file with them. Plus, I changed my address with the post office as soon as I left campus so I could get ALL of my mail and I did. But, I never received anything from TJU. They — at no time whatsoever — attempted to contact me via any method — not mail, phone or email — not to ask for payment or to threaten collections — nothing!
So now, thanks to Thomas Jefferson University, my credit is ruined! I just can’t believe that they are even aloud to do this without contacting me. They just put my loan right into collections. Unbelievable! I feel like an idiot for ever having trusted them. It has only been a very short time since I graduated, and I have been in constant contact with them, so I thought that everything was on schedule and TJU loan repayments did not start yet. Ha! I was so wrong. And, I did everything right on my part too.
I am shocked! But, I shouldn’t be. The FA director there is a bumbling idiot. This is not just my current life that they have seriously mishandled and are carelessly destroying, but it is also my future life that they have decided to condemn. Thanks Jefferson! I knew you had it in you. You are the most miserable, incompetent school — ever! Monkeys could do your jobs better!
Well, that is my story (well, more like my never-​ending nightmare). So be warned — Thomas Jefferson University is a crummy school with very expensive, low quality education. They make everything miserable, and THEY WILL RUIN YOUR CREDIT! Idiots run this place.
