Yoon’s Dry Cleaners

I was desperate to find a place that could repair a giant hole that I burned into my winter coat. This place exceeded my expectations. As soon as I showed them the problem, they went at it right away — determined, detailed, and confident. They talked with each other and me about the best way to fix it, focusing on quality and aesthetics. It inspired me with confidence, as a different place I took the coat to earlier told me immediately that it was beyond repair. The rip was a few inches wide and went through two layers of fabric; feathers were falling out from the inside, and the hole extended across a few different seams. They were friendly and it was ready the same day (and I didn’t request expedited service). The final product is amazing. The seams on the patch they made match the original seams on the coat, and the fabric matches almost perfectly. The patch is not noticeable unless pointed out, and even then looks very good. Considering that I thought my favorite coat was a goner, I was so happy when I saw it again that I wanted to give everyone there a hug. Thanks again. Cash only.

I had to stop going where I used to go because of a strange falling out with my previous seamstress. I checked out Yoon’s because of the convenient location, but as soon as I walked in the door and was greeted with such kindness, I knew I was in the right place.
My sister-in-law’s mother thrifts and flea markets like I thrift and flea market. Last time we were in Harrisburg, she gifted me with two thrift store bathrobes. Both needed to be shortened and one was missing a belt.
The seamstress at Yoon’s did a phenomenal job on both of them, and used the fabric from the pink one to make its new belt. I feel beautiful in both robes, and since I work from home and basically wear a bathrobe all day, it’s nice to feel sexy and beautiful.
Yoon’s will be my new go to spot for all of my vintage alterations. Highly recommend!

Yoons used to be my go to dry cleaners. Over the last 6 weeks I have had at least one broken button per load. The last straw was when a shirt came back ripped. The owner tried to blame me saying it was ripped prior to the dry cleaning. I will not be returning to Yoons

Wife went for a shirt cleaning because it was so close to our place.
Shirt was not cleaned on time but I think that might be because they didn’t hear her right.
However, noticed a stain on her sleeve and went back the next day. They blamed her and said it was her fault. Did not offer to clean again and just sent her away saying they don’t need her business.
Coupled with my experience, I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

I have been using this place for a few months. Recently, nothing has been ready on time. The final straw was today when my favorite blouse came back with bleach stains on the front and back. There were also new grease stains. I did have a stain removed but it was much smaller and it a different area (at least that was gone). I have never washed the blouse myself, and I don’t even keep my dry cleaning with my non-​dry clean clothing. I am 100% certain it was not there when I dropped it off. They agreed it was bleach, but denied responsibility even though they send it out so anything could have happened. $ 170 blouse is ruined. No apology or anything. And I still had to pay for the order.

This place not only is an excellent cleaners, but the customer service is out of this world. They remember my and my husband’s name, are SO friendly, and the price is very reasonable. I’ve also gotten a bridesmaids dress hemmed there, and the work was fantastic and I had the dress back in a week. I referred my friend there for her dress, and they were able to expedite her hem to just a couple days! Dogs are welcome, which is nice. Always leave with a huge smile and clean clothes!

Wonderful family owned and operated dry cleaning business. Wonderful for timely cleaning service and alterations, as well. It is so wonderful to have a place like this right in the neighborhood.

I don’t understand this dry cleaner. If I come to you to get something cleaned and it is returned in the same condition I brought it to you in you either: a) didn’t do your job b) you couldn’t properly clean it but failed to tell me c) some other more generous to you option that I cannot figure out now because I’m too annoyed. As a note, the shirt I brought in had a small stain (makeup) that I noted to the dry cleaner when I dropped it off and was told it would not be a problem. I subsequently brought it to another cleaner who DID remove the small stain. I won’t be coming back here.

Yoon’s is a great place to get your dry cleaning and other tailoring needs taken care of in Washington Square West. I received a recommendation from a friend when moving into the neighborhood to give them a try and I have not regretted it.
My clothes have been taken care of in a timely and professional manner, but more importantly is the genuinely friendly and caring service that is provided. The owners are super friendly and will go out of there way to help you out however they can– from helping carry large loads of dry cleaning to your car/​avoiding tickets from the PPA.
I would highly recommend this location to anyone living in the Washington Square West area.

I have used Yoon’s in the past and have received good service. Today I picked up shirts and 2 of 6 had the collars improperly pressed so that they were an inch above the seam. Thinking that this was no issue I brought them back to be redone and was told «that’s the way it is» and they would do nothing.
So be warned that if they make a mistake they will NOT take any responsibility even if there is an easy and responsible fix.

I recently started a new job that requires me to actually dress like an adult, so I needed to find a dry cleaners to take care of my new profesh threads. Yoon’s is right down the street from my apartment, so I figured it was worth a shot.
I’m kind of new to this whole «dry cleaning» game, so I can’t honestly say that I’ve payed less for service at other places, but Yoon’s does seem a bit pricey to me. (My BF says they are comparable to other cleaners re: men’s stuff, but it cost $ 12 for a dress of mine to be cleaned, and around $ 4 a blouse.) On average, it seems to take 3 –5 days for them to get clothes back to you. Is that long? I don’t know. That aside, the service is awesome, the clothes come back clean and I can walk there in less than 4 minutes, so I’m happy!
Other cool things:
— They thoroughly check all the pockets of your stuff and flag any specific stains or marks on the clothes (this was especially helpful when my BF brought in a suit that he had worn to a bachelor party — lots of cash money in the pockets and wine stains on the pants and the jacket. Hashtag party animal).
–They let me bring my dog inside the shop and give him treats!
–They gave me a sweet, legit-​looking giant bag to hold all my dirty laundry.
–They clean other things, like down comforters.
–The last time I was in there, I had my dog with me and was picking up a massive amount of clothes. The husband offered to carry my clothes and walk back with me to my apartment! I declined, but if that’s not customer service that goes above and beyond, I don’t know what is! (Hashtag chivalry ain’t dead.)

They are the nicest people on earth. Helpful, happy, and go out of their way for everyone through the door.
A tad expensive, but actually worth it for how excellent they are with customer service.

I love this place… they don’t just handle my clothes perfectly, they are like family. I have been going there for years. They have been nothing but helpful. I love you guys.

FINALLY, I found a decent tailor in WashWest!
Yoon’s is run by a friendly family who are true professionals — something that’s oddly rare in this supposedly upscale part of town. So far I’ve only brought in a few dress pants and one pair of jeans to hem, but each time the workmanship has been excellent. The lady carefully measured the length, accounting for the shoes I would be wearing with the pants, and I returned to find crisply hemmed pants with neat, nearly invisible stitches. Yay! For my precious premium denim, the lady even asked whether I wanted to keep the original hem — before I even thought to mention it! Like I said, true professionals.
I think the turnaround time (just under a week) is pretty typical for this area, and the prices are about average. The only negative is the hours aren’t as long as I would like, but then I just make sure to stop by on a Saturday.

I found myself facing a bridesmaid dress emergency 48 hours before I was supposed to leave for the wedding. I ran to Yoon’s at 730 this morning, and no problem! the bridesmaid dress snafu will be completely remedied prior to departure! Thank you Yoon’s!

Yoon’s is my go-​to cleaners for treasured garmets and expert alterations.
They are busy (slower turn-​around) and expensive, but these are signs of good quality tailors.
For items that I don’t care as much about, I’ll go somewhere less expensive. But I trust Yoon’s for the most important jobs.

Great place — very conscientiously run by a nice family.
