History
Established in 2002.
In 2002, two generations of our family came together to create BAXTER, highlighting the very best in North Coast viticulture. Winemakers by trade, Phil Baxter Senior and Phil Baxter Junior combine over fifty years of experience, producing wines naturally, applying instinct and using old-world techniques. Phillip Baxter Jr crafts wines with the greatest expression of ‘terroir’ and purity of fruit, reflecting the unique identity of each vineyard source.

Phillip Baxter grew up in the Napa Valley, studied winemaking at UC Davis, and then spent a 5 month internship working at a small winery in Burgundy, France. For the past ten years he has been making a range of Baxter single vineyard Pinot Noirs, at Baxter Winery in the Anderson Valley, using the traditional hand-crafted techniques learnt in Burgundy. His wines regularly gain excellent reviews from professional wine press and are known for their wonderful balance and sense of terroir.
