A To Z Used Equipment

Bring your suncreen, hiking boots, and a fistful of cash — and make sure your tetanus shots are up to date. I serendipitously discovered A to Z one afternoon while picking up some shelving in the area… how could I miss the gleam of the sun off the haphazard piles of industrial looking stainless steel sinks and countertops. One quick illegal U-​turn later, the two owners/​brothers looked on, amused, as I scrambled over piles of beat up restaurant equipment in my prissy work outfit and Louis Vuitton bag, veritably squealing with excitement in finding two matching stainless shelving units. Although they were salvaged from the now-​defunct Sugar Daddy’s (RIP), they now make bomb ass bedstands. A chunky stainless cart on casters now serves as an indestructible coffee table, impervious to beer and hot sauce spills. Similar products can be found at Restoration Hardware and the like for many, many times more, if you are so inclined. I am not.
That said, A to Z was the first place to come to mind when finishing off my patio’s little BBQ area. Sure enough, there were so many countertops/​workspaces to choose from, my head was spinning. One of the owners, Dave, remembered me from last year’s bedstand quest, and was super helpful in getting some casters put on the table I picked out. I also found some weird old steel unit that Dave said was meant to hold propane tanks. Who knows. Had to have it. In a supreme effort in self-​control, I passed on a bank of sweet rusty gym lockers. Please, someone else, give them a good home.
Minus a fraction of a star because their hours are pretty limited (M-​F 9 – 5) for us working folk. Another fraction of a star off for the sheer chaos of the place. This is manageable if you know exactly what you want — Dave somehow, magically, knows where things are in the shitstorm. This is not so good if you just want to browse, but spending some time picking your way through the piles can be rewarding!
Details: I don’t know if they take plastic, but you can save a little with cash. Also, they will deliver your purchases, although not sure of the fees.
