Broadstone Camelback

Run away… Far, far away! Since the day I moved in NOTHING has worked right. From over flowing toilets backed up by a neighbor (literally poop floating in my apt for 2 days until they fixed an overflowing, clogged toilet) to the staff «accidentally» giving a cleaning crew my key without my permission! Came home from a biz trip to find my apt re-​arranged by a cleaning crew I never hired. Furious!
I’ve been locked out of my apt because of key fob issues (endless!!!). Literally locked in the stairway and behind gates because the fobs randomly stop working.
It took the staff THREE MONTHS and 4 requests to get my washing machine positioned so I could open the soap drawer (it’s stacked in a closest).
My fire alarm went off when the office complex next to the apts went off… Yep… Scary!
The gym does not have towels or wipes — the equipment does not work (2 out of 5 treadmills and 2 ellipticals work) and there’s NO WAY anyone has ever cleaned the equipment… It’s sickening!
It’s bad. Nothing works right and the staff gets attitude when I complain. Too damned expensive to have all this crap wrong.
By the way… I travel for work 90%. I’ve been here maybe 25 nights in 6 months and all this has gone wrong. The place is a shithole.
Did I mention the scorpion I found in my toilet last week?
Look elsewhere.

We lived in the Biltmore floorplan, two bedroom apartment from Jan 2014 to Jan 2015 on the third floor and paid just over $ 1800 a month. This was our experience while living there.
The Good:
Quiet complex, no noise between apartments but we were on a top floor.
Gym is spacious with nice equipment. No stairmaster though.
Beautiful pool with nice lounge chairs.
The new washer and dryer are great (though I wasn’t a fan of the front loading washer).
New construction so apartment was the first anyone had lived in it.
Underground parking was close to our elevator and kept the cars cool. We had a tandem spot and no issues with door dents.
Plenty of availability at grills and they worked great near our apartment. Lights and nice seating provided, which isn’t always the case at other apartments.
Fast service on maintenance calls.
Garden tub with nice bathroom fixtures.
Quartz countertops looked nice and were durable but showed dirt/​water spots.
Secure with on site security at night.
Location, location, location. Walking to Biltmore Fashion and the AMC dine-​in theater was great!
Free bike rentals.
Lots of event functions.
Nice, modern paint color.
Bad:
Limited storage spaces with small closets and no patio storage. Additional space cost $$$.
Guest suite was misrepresented by a former employee — for your guests its $ 100 a night with 3 night minimum and $ 50 cleaning fee. When my brother and his girls came to stay it smelled like cat pee.
Did I mention the small closets?!
The master bedroom was a VERY tight fit for a king bed. The linen closet behind the door was really inconvenient and you had to close the bedroom door to get to it.
Gym was hot and the cleaning staff isn’t great. No towels sometimes but more were purchased just prior to us leaving. I never saw any other people working out clean the machines or mats once they were done.
Pool — wasn’t cleaned often and there was always leaves floating around and due to the surrounding buildings, there was no sun after 3pm.
Clubhouse rental was $ 100 an hour and price had also been misrepresented by the same former employee.
Additional rent fees with community power and gas was an extra $ 80 a month tacked onto our already expensive rent.
Pool fountains were beautiful but were on at random times.
3^rd floor is hot and the oven heats up whole apartment when in use.
High utilities for 884sq feet.
Laminate Wood Floors never looked clean, light berber carpet shows dirt easily.
No good gym in the area if you need more equipment.
Paint is flat and shows marks easily and leaves marks when trying to clean the walls.
$ 200 moving out fees so only received back $ 100 of deposit. They make you pay to repaint the apartment.
Expensive rent.
Overall, it’s one of the best places to live in the Biltmore area. While I miss certain things about the apartment, I ultimately don’t miss the high rent payment and the small sq footage.

I lived here for 5 short months before my job took me elsewhere. Best complex I’ve ever lived in, and I’ve lived in various apartments over 5 years. The staff was so nice (especially Stacey and Michael… Sara sometimes wasn’t the nicest.) The facilities are nice and well kept, and the location is awesome. Walking distance to Biltmore Fashion Park, cool views of Camelback Mountain (which was my favorite part), and bike ride distance to other stores and restaurants. I miss living here! If I ever head back to Phoenix, which I really hope happens, Broadstone Camelback is the only place I’ll live. Only complaint: parking spaces under the car ports are TINY! It was always a frustrating experience parking my car. But that’s small apples.

Great place to live, with all the amenities you can ask for. Plus the location couldn’t be better. The staff seem to be the secret ingredient for success. Newer building which is great and if there is an issue with maintenance for some reason the response time is on point!

The wine lounge is my fav! Really nice pool with plenty of lounge chairs. The fitness center is the best I’ve ever seen in an apartment community!

Great apartments, awesome neighborhood. Really good amenities that everyone really uses like a great gym (a big plus), outdoor grills, gazebos etc.

As one of the early renters, I continue to be really pleased with this choice. The community spaces are well kept and easy to enjoy. The fitness center is huge and always easy to use with the temperature just right. The pool is perfect, perfect. I really enjoy the lush landscaping throughout the area. Maintenance needs are met quickly and always done well. My apartment is well designed and truly comfortable with great views and natural light.

Staff is very friendly and always available. The community is always clean and well taken care of. Maintenance takes care of issues promptly.

This place has everything you need… great pool, great gym, and great units. Not to mention its within walking distance of everything at the Biltmore. We’re stoked to move in and can’t wait to take advantage of everything Broadstone has to offer.

I live here currently. When I tell people I live here they are like «OooOooh that place is super nice!» And I’m usually like «Ya it’s ok.» Here are 10 reasons why.
1. This place was bought by Alliance recently. And the woman who manages for Alliance, or whatever, is a b-​word. I asked for her manager’s number… she gave me a number and smugly replied «You can try calling this number but it will probably be me who answers since I’m the manager.»
2. It is very safe, but to the point where it is difficult to get around the complex. If you have a friend over, and she’s ready to leave, you have to walk her to the front gate and scan her out with your fob. The gate requires a fob scan both coming in and exiting. Coming in, I get. Exiting, I do not.
3. The doors are unnecessarily heavy. Like every door. Like the door to the trash chute. The door to the stairwell. If your arms are full of stuff, you will not be able to open the door. You must set your stuff down. Open the door. Hold the door open with your foot/​butt. Scoot stuff in. Pick stuff up. Proceed to next heavy door. This is a petty argument I’m sure but it just annoys me every freaking day.
4. Personal trainers in the gym. There are personal trainers who don’t live here, but who train residents here, which is all good and well, until their client leaves and they come up to other residents in the gym, trying to acquire them as clients.
5. Poorly designed closets. I have to walk into my closet and close the door behind me to retrieve most of my clothing. Luckily I am 5’0″. Anyone bigger than me would find these closets useless. The closet door also hits my clothing when opening/​closing the door, knocking my hangers off the bar each time.
6. The vinyl faux wood floor peels up at the corners.
7. The draw fronts in the kitchen fall off. The kitchen looks super nice but it is pretty cheaply made.
8. There are a ton of dogs that live here, so the stairwells are filled with dog hair. Also, someone let their dog shit in the stairwell and it sat there all day until someone cleaned it up. Who lets their dog shit in the stairwell? In 100 degree weather, no less.
9. Maintenance of the facility is slow. One of the TVs in a common area has been broken since I moved here 9 months ago. The lights at the grill are broken. Two out of the four treadmills don’t work. The exit gate sensor was broken a few months ago and it took over 2 weeks to fix.
10. The parking spaces are extremely tiny. Everyone who lives here has scratches/​dents on the side of their car from being brushed by others. I got hit and run here when I was on vacation, came home to a dented door. A lot of assholes who live here and drive Jeeps, Suburbans, etc. park in the compact spots which is also annoying.
This place isn’t the absolute worst (it is across from Saks for fucks sake), but it is definitely overpriced for what you get and I am quite looking forward to my lease ending.

Nice community in Phoenix!

I live here and my bike wasn’t stolen. Why? Because I keep it locked up. Sure, there’s been problems, but the management company stepped up security, increased more automatic locks and key fobs, and even installed them in the elevators. Residents here are awesome and most of us take responsibility for our own actions (like not leaving the gates open, or letting people in we don’t know).
They have a great pool and spa area (²⁴⁄₇) and I never, ever, ever hear a peep from the neighbors. My only complaint is that I didn’t win the free iPad!!! ;-) Highly Recommended. Oh– the staff is beautiful (especially Katie and Wendi!)

After looking at about 15 different apartments in Phoenix and Scottsdale, I have found my home. After taking a tour of Broadstone camelback I couldn’t imagine living any place else. The location is perfect, the apartments are fantastic, and staff is very friendly and super helpful. I can’t wait to move into my new apartment.

Broadstone on Camelback is a gorgeous community! My fiancé and I are moving in at the end of this month and we couldn’t be more excited. We have both been in the leasing office numerous times to tour the property and look at different floor plans. Each time we have come by, the leasing staff has been so wonderful and gracious to us. They are a HUGE part of why we decided to lease at this community! Overall, we are very happy with our choice and would without a doubt recommend this community to anyone that is looking!

We just moved to Broadstone Camelback in the Biltmore-​area (across from Biltmore Fashion), and it is great!
We were one of the first to move into the newly-​built building, and feel so lucky! We have the Biltmore 2-​bedroom model on the 3^rd floor, with a lovely pool view, and although apparently pricey for Phoenix (we pay about $ 1700), we feel it is a fair price for such a beautiful building.
We know all new buildings sort itself over the early months, so some issues we have will probably be fixed (some minor scratches on the floors in our unit from installing appliances and louder air in a bathroom), and this has so far been minimal… staff is super-​quick to address too.
There is a 2-​story gym, equal to top gyms in LA where I am from. The pool is a bit on the smaller side, but the fountains, neat lighting, and ample cushioned lounge chairs make up for it. Cabanas have flat-​screens, fans and beautiful furniture free for use by any. A putting green and a fire place outdoors are still being built (as is half the complex!).
Units have some high-​end features, like Moen fixtures and fairly good appliances, but then there is somewhat lower-​grade carpet… and faux-​wood floors… so it is a trade-​off. Units present well though, and have clean-​lines, look modern, and look upgraded at least… it is, after all, an apartment.
Staff is really friendly, especially Ricky the Assistant Manager, and Danielle in Leasing. I strongly urge you to visit if you are in the market for an upscale apartment complex…
