Been going to Camelback Volkswagen ever since I moved to Phoenix 3 years ago. Every time I go it’s a great experience. Everyone is friendly and always professional. Unlike other dealership around the valley I always feel like they’re doing everything they can to make your visit a great one. I’ve worked with both sales and service side of the dealership and I am amazed with the level of customer service I get.

Camelback VW service department continues to serve me well! I’ve been going there for many years and have seen them go thru their ups and downs. I moved away and moved back to PHX. back for 2 years now and Randy O. has moved into the ranks of my Favorite Service Advisor EVER!!! He’s responsive, professional, knowledgeable, and genuine. He makes me feel like my cars (I have 2 jettas) are the most important cars in the world! (well, they ARE!)

Randy, in the service department, has been wonderful to work with! He gets to know all of his customers and gives attention to detail. He makes sure my wait is minimal and a loaner car is always available for me and my kids.

I purchased a car from this location about 4 months ago for my little sister. It was the most horrible experience I have ever been through. Being in sales for the past 6 years I am very well versed in how a negotiation should go [this is not it]. My sister test drove the car with a sales associate with a sticker price of $ 13,400. We agreed with the sales associate that this was a fair price and begin the purchase. He then brought his manager over who told us that was the [BASE PRICE] of the model and that all the «extras» brought the real price up to $ 15,900. After laughing at him and threatening to walk out he caved and gave us the car at less than the original $ 13,400 price. If my little sister didn’t love her Jetta I would have walked out hours ago. After that the rest of the process took 3.5 hours AND the next day we noticed the AIR CONDITIONER didn’t work. We called the manager up and he offered to pay HALF. Being so sick of arguing and speaking with this company I just agreed. I will never purchase a VW again. Thank you Camelback VW.

Randy Ott and Jason London are AWESOME!!! Every time I have brought my car in it has been VERY WELL taken care of! Jason goes above and beyond at taking care of his customers cars! He puts 110% into making sure your car is working properly! Randy is always hustling to make your experience at the dealership quick and easy! I don’t think I have spent more than 30 mins signing papers and getting into a rental car. He also does a great job at keeping you updated on your car!
Jason and Randy are an excellent and trust worthy team! Thank you guys for making the camelback delearship experience excellent every time!

service department gets 5 stars. have used them multiple times with multiple vw’s and never an issue with work performed or customer service.

Go see Randy Ott at Camelback VW. He is honest, professional, and funny. He’s earned my trust over the last couple years and he always manages to get me in in case of emergency. Overall great quality and service at this dealership.

I can’t think of anyone who likes taking their car in to get serviced, but I appreciate that Camelback VW tries to make this process as painless as possible! Randy Ott is great, stays in close communication, gives good explanations as to what’s needed to keep the car running, and always has a smile on his face… even bright and early in the morning! Also, a thumbs up to the shuttle service guys (especially Mario) who will get you where you need to go (and pick you up) if you have to leave your car for the day.

I bought a couple of used cars from them in Aug 2012 and Adam was great. About a year later, the calls started. Wanting me to trade in my car because they need good used cars. After 3 or so of these calls about 2 months apart each, I requested I be removed from their call list and was assured that would happen. Of course last year I started getting these calls and requested to be removed from their call list and was assured they would do so. I am now receiving calls again and have asked to be removed. They hand a list of former customers to new hires and have them call. This is the worst form of harassment ever.
I will NEVER use them again because they do not do what they say.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had and I did not even step a foot into the dealership. Sent In an inquiry thru their website. Stephanie Jacobs was the responding sales person. I told what we wanted for the trade in vehicle was the same that they offered on their website trade in value. She did not see a problem. I wanted a reduction in the price and she had a sales manager call. He promised he did not want to loose a customer over a few hundred dollars and the price on website was negotiable. I promised I would be there on MLK DAY. (mind you I am in Kingman for a 4 hour drive.) I called on Friday before MLK day and asked them to work a deal before we got there. They supposedly ran credit and came back that because my car would sit on their lot most likely for over 2 months, they could only give me 7k for car (which was another VW and a 2012). They gave excuse after excuse as to why it was a low trade in. Dan McCoy, sales manager, said it was how their corporate structure was. Not to give good money out for a TDI. Stephanie was actually pretty rude in her email responses when she was called out about the lies. On MLK day went to Findlay in Henderson NV, and they worked a great deal and got the 10k for vehicle we wanted. Findlay also said Camelback did not even run credit as promised and they lied to me. Credit report even proved it. How ironic is that. Read the other Unilocal ratings and you will see why. This place is truly the worst place to buy from.

I have purchased 2 cars from Camelback VW and had good experiences. George sold me the second car and was very pleasant to work with.
A week ago, I was in again and looking at trading in my TDI that I purchased from them. They offered me $ 4500 for a car that I purchased from them a year ago for $ 15k. When I expressed how I was displeased with it because the VW TDI scandal is the reason the car’s value plummeted, they came back saying they could give me $ 9500 since I’ve purchased from them twice and they want to maintain that relationship. Today, I was told they could give me $ 4k and that the manager who told me $ 9500 a week ago either quit or was fired (conveniently). After some back and forth, they said $ 5k is the best they can do and They’d get me out the door at $ 39k in a vehicle on their site for $ 24,500. So not only do they NOT value the relationships with customers, they have proven that they do not stand behind their vehicles and definitely do not anticipate the VW «fix» to restore value to their vehicles.
That said, George was still pleasant to work with and kept trying to get his managers to step up and be an honorable business. I highly discourage people from purchasing a vehicle here, but if you do, buy a used car and get it from George.

Over the last 10 years I have purchased three cars from Camelback. I know that some people would disagree with this review but I want to say that in those 10+ years I have had nothing but a great experience
With the sales department and with the service department. The highlight of the service department is Randy. And he always goes beyond to take care of me and my husband. Randy has honored quotes, he has found ways to save me money through my warranty, and he is always willing to take my car in for service at any time that I need. My husband and I want to buy another new car in the next year or so. We will be going back to Camelback VW. Randy makes every experience in the service department a stress free one and I appreciate all the help that he is given to us.

I unfortunately got a car from this place! So they approved one of the rebates i was applicable for. They verified and made me sign the papers, and told me that they will mail them. After 4 days they call me to sign some documents but instead they say the rebate is not valid and the worst part they insulted me and a friend by taking our keys and saying to pay extra or just give the car away! It was pretty insulting to be inside the showroom for 4 hours not able to take your car and ultimately paying them extra to get the keys even when the i signed the papers!
Please DON’T GO TO THIS PLACE!

Never, EVER give these people your contact information. More than 30 unsolicited voice mails left on my cell phone. Countless emails as well. I contacted the «General Manger,» (in writing), asking for the harassment to stop. It continues.

The best thing about leaving this review is that I currently have time to leave it because I was told last night when I brought my car in this morning for service that they’d give me a loaner so I didn’t bring any work with me. Figured I’d be in and out pretty quickly. I get here today and no loaner. That would of been nice to know so I could of brought some things with me but I’ve found with this dealership nothing will go how they say it will.
Last night when I came to buy my car it was a night. mare. I came in with a pre approved loan, wanting to purchase my lease and they can’t take no for an answer. I had to say «I just want to buy out my lease.» «I’m not interested in financing I have my loan.» «No I don’t want a $ 400 car payment.» (At one point they came back with a new Passat deal with a $ 700 car payment. Ridiculous.) When it started getting to 9p at night because they prefer to hang out at the front and giggle like high school girls instead of do their job, then I had to say «I’d just like to sign my papers and go home» more than once. I went up to the manager to ask if I could just sign my papers so I could leave and he said «oh I thought you were gone.» WHAT? No apology, no what you’re going to do to fix the situation… he just walked away. He did go get the person to get my paper work but that’s horrible customer service.
Finally, the person who did my paperwork (I do feel bad about bringing this up because she was super nice, the only nice one! but this was the cherry on my horrible experience) was very new and struggled through my paperwork. She had to re print some of my papers because she didn’t put them in the printer right and was constantly checking a list to see if she was doing all the work correctly. When you’re making that big of a purchase, it’s just uncomfortable to feel like the person finalizing the deal doesn’t really know what’s happening.
Overall, run. Run super far from this dealership and go to the Scottsdale location. I know the guys there and wish so bad I would of gone there last night. I thought since I had a pre approved loan it didn’t matter and didn’t want to make the farther drive but it’s very worth it.

Do not let these people get your contact details. They will constantly nag and spam you. I can’t begin to describe how irritating it is when you email someone and ask them to stop emailing you, yet they continue to do so.
I had to phone up the manager (her name was Alex, she was patient and understanding) and ask for it to finally stop.
Spamming is not a good business practice. I would encourage you to shop else where.

LEAVE ME ALONE! No! I have no interest in selling my car back to you and going through the same bs process again. No! I don’t want to purchase another extended warranty that won’t cover all the issues I have. It’s been almost two years and I still get a phone call every month. I’ve been kind and patient every time, asking gently that I be taken off their call list. Numerous times I’ve had their sales people hang up on me.
While I’m at it, my warranty covers nothing of importance. The few times I brought my car in the warranty didn’t apply. Once was for a cabin filter and they quoted me $ 200. I declined and took it to my regular mechanic who did it for $ 30. That’s 85% cheaper!
Overall I love my VW and will continue to drive them. When the time comes however, this will not be the dealership I purchase from. Nice work boys, keep on fueling the car dealer stereotype!

Every department of this dealership is great. I purchased a new vehicle from them in January that had extensive issues, leading VW (corporate) to replace it with another. The sales and service department (specifically my service adviser, Giuseppe, and service manager, Frank Cheney) went above and beyond to make this complicated situation as easy and positive as possible.
I literally cannot feel more strongly than I do about how well this dealership took care of me during this situation. I got a great deal on my car back in January from the sales side as well. Overall, a great dealer who stuck their necks out to take care of me, just another guy buying a GTI. I had never purchased a vehicle there prior, but I can guarantee no other VW dealer will get my business moving forward.
