Canyon Ridge Endodontics

I have had 2 procedures there with Dr. Lemmot and the experience could not have been better. 2 root canals and both went as planned.
He explained in complete detail what was to be done. The front desk people had all my insurance and copay information ready and explained before the procedures.
For sure, root canals are not fun but they are way, way better than they were years ago.
Both procedures were done quickly and efficiently.
Now mind you I hope I don’t need another but if I do this is the place to do it.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the staff at Canyon Ridge Endodontics! From the front office staff to the check out staff, my experience was flawless. Dr. Khalifa and Tina were an incredible team — made me not only comfortable but made the root canal I needed absolutely painless. Job well done to all and if I need another root canal, I won’t go anywhere else.

If there ever was a pleasant root canal I just experienced it with Dr. Setlock. Great service and experience. painless!

From scheduling to the office visit everyone was very professional and friendly. My root canal was performed by Dr. Lammot. He took the time to explain everything and gave me a sense of comfort. I had some unusual «post» root canal symptoms and he contacted me later that evening to see if I were OK. He even called me two days later! He is one of the few doctors out there that actually has compassion. I had 2 root canals with this office and will never go anywhere else!

Friendly, professional folks from start to finish. There was a small wait due to an emergency but I was made comfortable and kept apprised of the situation. My root canal went off without a hitch and I’m as happy as can be with the experience considering, y’know, I had to get a root canal.

Ok so I have to start by saying that I am definitely not the best patient when it comes to dental work. My anxiety goes through the roof when I have to have to procedure. But overall this was one of the best dental experiences I’ve had. I am a nurse so there are certain things I look for when I’m getting care and like I said I can be hard to deal with and very picky.
Let’s start with the front desk/​greeting area. It’s clean and well kept, the desk clerk was polite and prompt in greeting me. They went over any payments that were due today right up front so there were no surprises when you got in the back and checked out.
My appointment was at 845, I got in the back around 915. The tech that assisted the dentist was very polite and helpful and explained everything he was doing before it was done. I was pre medicated with ibuprofen which was wonderful because I’ve never had anyone do that before and it definitely helped.
The dentist himself was so wonderful, I told him about past bad experiences I’ve had and explained my anxiety over procedures and he was very understanding. He explained everything that was going to happen as he did it. Once numb, the moment the drill hit my tooth I felt it and threw my hand up, he immediately stopped and asked if I was ok. I then had a panic attack (feeling dental work is my biggest fear) he was very comforting and didn’t rush me in calming down. I ended up getting the «laughing gas» to assist me in staying calm. Once calm I was numbed a little bit more and the procedure went on. Total time I think maybe 30 – 40 minutes.
On checkout the price was what we discussed before the procedure. Only issue here was that there was some difficulties with the care credit website and while I was waiting for it to be resolved the girl on the phone was cursing while talking to the company people which I think was a little inappropriate.
Overall I think this place is wonderful and if I ever need a root canal again this will definitely be where I go.

My dentist sent me to Canyon Ridge Endo for an evaluation since I was suffering from an abscess. I had a root canal done by Dr. Przygocki at the Carefree Hwy. location. This was not a typical root canal, as 1) the affected tooth had a crown, and 2) I have difficulty with dental work due to pain issues. I am totally impressed with the care I received. He is obviously well trained and very professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to use him again (hopefully I won’t need to) or refer him to others.

Had another great experience today with a retreat root canal. (not a tooth done here before) I now work in the dental industry and know to choose the best. Dr. Kalifa is not only friendly but knows what he is doing. Painless and quick.

Dr kalifa has done excellent work on me mouth in the past and my treatment was of the highest caliber so I called for help again on a Sunday and he promptly returned my call in 60 min. I explained to him my Genral dentist said «next time I need a root canal «and I was in PAIN!
Dr k, said he «can’t help till Wednesday» and gave me the option of waiting or seeing dr lammot the next day?
I chose dr Lamont due to high pain, and I was not disappointed! Like dr kalifa, dr L gave me confidence, options and a detailed explanation of what we needed to do to complete a DOUBLE ROOT CANAL!
All staff were happy, knowlagable, clean and I was all done in 1.5 hours.
My mouth was bruised for 4 days and it was painless until the Novocain wore off but, the process was!
(Discloseure here my brother in law, went to and graduated dental school with dr K but practices in San Fran and he reffered me to dr K years ago. It has no weight on my review!)

All of these doctors are excellent. I have the most experience with Dr. Gus Khalifa. He is an excellent endodonist. For example, he went through my exrays in detail and showed why I was getting pain, where the nerves were being exposed and the exact reasons why I needed a root canal. He took the guesswork out. The process was straightforward and Dr. Khalifa numbed me up so I didnt feel any pain!
I will only go to this practice and specifically Dr. Khalifa for root canals. Hopefully I will stop grinding my teeth and won’t need any more root canals. But if I do, I am not going anywhere else.

Dr. Kalifa’s bedside manner left a lot to be desired and his approach toward me as a patient was very paternalistic. It would have been preferable if he took time to educate me about what was happening and understood the importance of joint decision making between a patient and a health care provider. His assistant seemed to be petrified of him, and sensing that didn’t help ease my concerns. Typically a procedure consent form is provided before work begins, but he did not go over the informed consent form with me instead his assistant handed it to me later when I was already numbed up with a dental dam in my mouth unable to ask questions. I sat there with the dental dam in my mouth for about 1hr and 15 minutes, and he only spent about 20– 25 minutes total working in my mouth. It’s is difficult for someone with TMJ to keep their mouth open that long and this just seemed inconsiderate to me. In the end the procedure went fine, but the price was nearly double the rate my regular dentist would have charged for a root canal, so really didn’t seem worth it. I won’t be returning.

I had a root canal re-​treatment done by Dr. Lammot. I chose to do the consult and and the treatment separately (even though there is a small additional charge for the office time). Dr. Lammot was very informative during my consult and made sure that I was aware and comfortable with the process he was going to use. The consult itself only took about fifteen minutes.
The treatment took a little less than an hour when I had it a few days later. Dr. Lammot was again very understanding and handled my procedure with high professionalism. Overall, he made the experience as enjoyable as possible. I had no issues after my procedure and I have total faith in his skills as an endodontist. I would definitely recommend Dr. Lammot to anyone looking for a skilled, personable, and professional endodonist.

For a day or two leading up to my appointment I was definitely nervous from stories or the thought of having a root canal procedure. Now that I am on the other side with having the procedure complete, my perception has done a 180. Dr. Lammot is an absolute great Dr. From the minute I met him he made me feel comfortable and at ease. He has a calming voice and is a great communicator letting you know exactly how things would unfold. The numbing shot was a piece of cake and within minutes it took affect. I was amazed at how quick the procedure was and didn’t feel one ounce of pain. Once again. Dr. Lammott talked to me throughout the procedure letting me know what he was doing so there was no surprises.
I hope I don’t have another root canal but if I do, without a doubt I will see Dr. Lammot. He will exceed your expectations.

Had a fair experience walking in, Setlock was the person giving me the root canal. Pretty sure he did a good job, but the customer service and billing left me frustrated, to say the least. Here we go, first I was told there was no fee, as I do have very good insurance. Well, 2 weeks later I received a bill from Setlock stating I owed them $ 375. My wife called and spoke with them to set up payment terms, which we both agreed to. $ 125 per month for 3 months. When my wife called back 30 days later to pay the second payment, she was told that our account had been sent to collections. Then stated she didn’t understand why, but when she checked, Setlock told her there was nothing they could do. I contacted the collections agency to pay she confirmed the account was sent to them 3 days after we paid the initial payment. If we were not diligent, this could of very well made a negative impact on my credit report! Beware! Customer service is a key to the business and this place is lacking in that department.

This review is specifically for Jason Setlock of Canyon Ridge Endontics. Found that I had to have my first root canal and was apprehensive due to all the past horror stories
I had heard. Don’t believe them, went in today with high blood pressure, upset stomach. fast pulse rate (stress). Dr. Setlock put me at ease with his professionalism, bedside manner, patience and consideration. There aren’t enough superlatives to apply to him.
Root canal is just like a filling, only takes a bit longer. Absolutely no pain, Really!
To avoid a prolix review I will just end in saying that the office is clean, staff is friendly and accommodating. I have no reservations is recommending this practice.

I work in a general dentist office in North Scottsdale. I have been referring to this practice for over 8 years. Not once have I ever had a patient complain, much to the contrary… the staff and doctors at Canyon Ridge Endodontics are awesome! Even my boyfriend had a root canal there…
For those who like to complain… your cavity didn’t start in a day, Your neglect of dental care is most likely what lead you there in the first place. They are SPECIALISTS, they went to school to SPECIALIZE in saving your body part.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a professional group of doctors and staff!

I was refered to Dr. Lammott by Dr. Cooper for my wifes toothache. Not only were they able to get her in the same day, but they were able to preform the root canal (at the same time) before it got out of control. Dr. Lammott was great and explained the procedure and need for a root canal.

Woohoo!!! Yes! As good as it gets!!! Five Stars…
For a root canal? You bet, Five Stars is the only rating I would give Canyon Ridge Endodontics… I was sent to this little jewel of a practice by another jewel who should also be reviewed at 5 stars (Dr. Mitchell Cooper) but we will save that for another day… As for Canyon Ridge & roots canals, I would only go to see Dr. Lamont, I’m not saying the other dentists at this practice are sub par, my only experience has been with the amazingly talented Dr. Lamont.
No one chooses a root canal procedure… no one, but if the situation arises, well then. go to Canyon Ridge knowing that Dr. Lamont is the best in the biz… and I’ve had experience with a few root canals in my young 43 years… The office staff, dentists, assistants, all the way down the line are professional, courteous, sensitive, talented, considerate, caring, well, the list of positive adjectives could go on.
I’m terrified of the dentist… and I mean terrified… granted I realize I’m not special with this fear I live with, but Canyon Ridge seems to ease this terror of mine.
Clearly they know what they are doing, clearly they are invested in their patients and in their practice, clearly they are not the least expensive in town, but for a procedure to repair a tooth, one that is causing considerate pain, a tooth that I’d like to keep I may add… its not outrageous. You will find yourself in a state of the art facility, with state of the art talent, you deserve the best, and Canyon Ridge Endodontics delivers just that, the best.

I am incomplete shock as to what some of these people are writing… Who’s says going to the dentist is cheap?

Drive to Mexico and get your teeth worked on? Are you crazy? Or just plane stupid!
Yes, root canals are pricey and you get what you paid for. I have gone to this office a few times for root canals… And yes it was worth the $ 1300. That’s what they are trained to do. You want to save money and go to your regular dentist. Go right ahead. I guarantee you will back paying for it again cause they don’t have the right training,
This office is amazing and would never go anywhere else!

I’m also surprised at the negative reviews. Nobody likes getting a root canal. Unless you’re a masochist. I don’t know. I do know, not many remember that getting a root canal is a two-​part process — (1.) getting the root canal (here), and then (2.) going back to the dentist for a crown for the tooth that you just had a root canal done on. You don’t just get the root canal ONLY unless you’re planning to get that tooth pulled, in which case you’re an idiot who shouldn’t be scheduling a root canal to begin with… and you shouldn’t blame the dentist if you’re clueless about your dental care.
Anyway…
The staff was courteous and professional — and honest — they told me exactly what the estimated cost would be with insurance and that I would be billed additionally or refunded the difference. (I received a refund check back a few months later: I like getting checks in the mail.)
Though the office is in North Phoenix, it is very «Scottsdale-​y», from the magazines in the lobby to the — ahem, well, let’s just leave it at that. It’s one of the most «Scottsdale-​y» dentists office I have been to.
I wasn’t doing too good the day of the appointment (unrelated to the tooth), and dentist was genuinely considerate of how I was feeling — the complete opposite of all those bad stereotypes.
The actual root canal was not painful at all. NO PAIN WHATSOEVER. I could feel the click-​click-​click and tap-​tap-​tap against my teeth, but it didn’t feel painful in the least.
Additionally, I did not need any painkillers after the root canal. NO PAINKILLERS NEEDED. Staff said to call if I needed anything, but I didn’t need to call for any Rx. Okay, technically, I did take some Advil PM, but I was already taking it, anyway.
I am very skeptical of the accuracy of the reviews from 7÷12÷11 and 07÷27÷10. The reviews from 10÷25÷11 are more similar to my experience.
