I WISH I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS.
These clowns towed our vehicle to Pep Boys yesterday for repairs. Pep Boys actually called this company to tow the vehicle to their location — apparently on their list of vendors. Not only did the person who came to tow our car smear grease all over the inside of the driver’s door, but stole money from the car as well — about $ 10.00 in quarters that were in the ashtray. I guess since their name is «Charity» he assumed he could take it. He also lowered the ramp partially onto the sidewalk rather than to the street, which there was plenty of room to do. I guess that doesn’t make that much difference, but a professional this man was not.
We called to let the owner of Charity know and he was so rude. He refused to apologize and was basically, like «so what?» and then refused to discuss it further, hence this review. We have already called Pep Boys to let them know what a rip off this company is and how they literally ripped us off. I’m going to copy and paste this to their Facebook page now too. Oh how a simple apology would have been nice to have. It makes no difference now.

This company is completely unprofessional. The man I spoke to on the phone was extremely rude. They were almost 4 hours late, with no phone call! I canceled my roadside assistance and went with someone else. Do not trust this company!

Three and one half hours and no one showed up despite being reassured countless times that their truck was on the way. Company employees lie to keep you on the hook. Worst tow experience ever.

If you don’t mind waiting for 3 hours and then being cancelled on. Only to turn around the very next day and wait another 2 and then have to call another company, after the manager guaranteed PERSONALLY only 10 more minutes… by all means… Use them.
They are HORRIBLE!!! After reading all the reviews, I have no clue how they are still in business.

They answered a call from my roadside assistance to change a tire. After waiting over an hour in Mesa, some guy shows up with a flatbed tow truck.
Seriously. Not sure who truly is at fault.
Sadly run business.

This is an absolutely horrible company. Take my advice and don’t ever use them for anything. This birdbrained tow truck driver picked up and delivered the wrong car to a location in Chandler today. On the way over to the drop point, the driver was in such a hurry on Arizona Avenue. He was switching lanes without any regard for the safety of himself or anyone else out on the road. He ran two cars off the road on the way over to his destination. Then, when he finally got to his stop, there was a delivery truck stopped in the entrance to the business waiting for another car to move. I guess this guy didn’t want to wait his turn in line, so he started laying on the horn. When the delivery driver didn’t move as he expected him to do, the tow truck driver just cut right in front of the delivery driver like some ahole. There was a whole group of people standing outside watching him and he just acted like he’d done nothing wrong. Well, I guess he’s king of the road in his big tow truck. Watch out everyone!

Waited almost 2 hours for their driver to arrive to a job that they committed to only for them to cancel the job after not showing up after almost 2 hours of waiting. I then had to wait for another 90 minute to 2 hour que. Now I understand wait times for towing companies but you simply can’t count on them…

I would «for sure» give them a ZERO. Worst experience EVER!
When you look up Charity (name of their business) it’s stated (dictionary meaning): an Organization set up to help those in need. NOT with this place. They need to change the name to Lame Towing!
On Friday April 22, I was leaving work on my way home and do to the extreme heat that day; half way home my car over heated, engine got so hot that my car decided to die!
At about 1:45 PM I called my insurance company and since I pay for a service «Roadside Assistance» my insurance company had this business sub contracted in my area. I was told that Charity would send me a confirmation text that they had received the call & they would confirm an arrival time of approx. 3:45 PM. I waited until about 3:00 PM in the 95 degree heat and couldn’t handle it much longer! Top Golf was directly across the way from where my car came to rest, so I started it up and was able to get into the parking lot of Top Golf. I then decided since I still had about 45 minutes to spare; I would go in and get a bite to eat. I called Charity tow and the gal that answered the phone asked me my name three times, the make of my car two times and where I was located a few more times. I don’t know if she was hard of hearing or just didn’t understand, but it was irritating! Anyway, I explained that I had moved into the parking lot and when the driver was to arrive– I would meet him out there. I received a confirmation text while enjoying the cool air inside Top Golf that my tow truck was to arrive at 3:45 PM. I finished up my chips & salsa and went to my car about 3:40 PM. I waiting until 4:15 PM and NO Charity Tow truck? I did however, see «A» tow truck hauling a purple PT Cruiser go down the street past Top Golf on the south side, I clearly knew that was not my truck! While STILL waiting I saw another «empty» tow truck head my way; only to pass right by me? I assumed that, that was my driver and that he was possibly having to make a u-​turn– but «NOPE»!.. So, again I called the company and told that gal, «I believe my driver just passed by?». She ask again for all the details «not once, but twice» and then had the audacity to tell me: «O, no that may have been another one of my drivers on a route, but your service tech is just finishing up a job with a gal & her Van & he should NOW be to you within the hour»???
By 4:45 PM I decided I would try to start the car (since it sat for so long & possibly cooled down enough) & by the «Grace of God» it started up and I was able to drive it home!
I cancelled the service via text message and had to also cancel a very important job interview I had schedule that day at 3:00 PM! Well then «Guess What»? I received a call at 6:45 PM (almost 5 hours later) and it was the tow truck driver saying he was on his way! Really? I told him that I had cancelled the service call at 4:45 PM. «That was that!
Unbelievable, I’m glad it wasn’t the prime of the summer with this heat a «blazing» and I’m even more glad I wasn’t out in the middle of «no where»!! I have reported this information to my insurance company in hopes that they release this company from their business contract, as it will only bring them more complaints and bad representation.
Would be interesting to see how much of a portion $$ they «claim» to given to charity? — would like to see the stats on that! This is probably the «tool» they use to rope these insurance companies in; but then turn around & treat «their» clients like we aren’t a priority! What a scam!
Horrible customer service and poorly ran business= many, many terrible reviews!

If only I could put zero or negative stars I would, eta 7:45 am I called around 6:10 am and well it’s 8:47. Tried to call the number they sent me and it’s sent to voicemail, also I called their customer service and they said they would call me back but never did, I called USAA again they called them and well gave another eta. Bad service, no follow up and customer service is rude!!!

5hrs I waited for my tow. Avoid these guys like the plague.

They are the WORST. Charged 500+ for a tow! I have no idea why State Farm contracts these idiots as emergency roadside assistance. Super rude and unhelpful, told me the bill «didn’t sound right.» Had a supervisor take off a few of the charges as if it was a favor, but the charges were incorrect to begin with. Total bill came out to $ 369. That’s astronomical for a damn tow! Luckily my insurance got it figured out and paid but I will be askin. State Farm to end their contract with these people, and to never dispatch one of their drivers to me again.

Zero stars. Had electrical problem with car, needed tow. Ford Roadside Assistance referred me to Charity. Charity, gave me an ETA of an hour, called back twice with each time being told another hour, and a story of the tow being on the way. Finally asked for realistic time frame after 3^rd hour, said 2 more hours. Woman on phone was rude, talked over and interrupted me, then asked if she could talk when I hadn’t finished my sentence. She said she was understaffed, I asked why she didn’t explain that before with a realistic time frame. I cancelled the service and went with another company. I would NOT recommend this company to my worst enemy.

Ditto just like the rest of the reviews… time estimates are lies, office staff answering the phones are rude and act as if you are wasting their time… that’s right, Joshua and Linda I’m looking at you… if that’s even your names.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. My wife had a flat at the airport (runflat tire) and had called State Farm for our roadside assistance. As the tire needed to be replaced, the vehicle needed to be towed. They contacted «Charity Towing» and much like the other reviews, they were completely misrepresenting the amount of time it would take for them to get there. After over an hour and a half, I drove to the airport to wait with my wife as a lone woman in a parking garage isn’t exactly a safe situation. While I was en route, my wife again contacted them and they said they had to send a different truck as they had dispatched a flatbed. The next vehicle would be there in THREE hours. When I arrived, she informed me and we called again. This time I spoke with a guy (Joshua I think) and had asked him why it would take three hours. He said a flatbed was dispatched and that wouldn’t work so they had to dispatch another truck. I understood, and it seemed reasonable, but again, I inquired as to why it would take three hours for another vehicle to arrive, and he said «I don’t have to explain myself to you» and hung up. We tried to call back, they wouldn’t answer. We then called our insurance company and they dispatched another towing company after they were unable to get a straight story from these guys. The other towing company showed up in 30 minutes…30.
I understand things pop up all the time, but to show complete lack of concern for the safety their «customers» (see the other reviews, they’ve left PLENTY of women stranded for hours), I would say they shouldn’t be in business. I wonder how they would feel if their family members were stranded and treated that way?
I’ve contacted my insurance company and have demanded they remove this company from their provider list, and have asked for verification of this action. I have already received one update that this has been escalated to a higher level within my carriers company.
I SUGGEST YOU DO NOT USE THESE «PEOPLE».

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I have been waiting over two hours and I finally called my roadside assistance asking them to send a different company. Good thing I’m at home and not stranded somewhere, but come on! How unprofessional to not call out of consideration to let me know you’re going to be late! UNREAL.

Zero Stars. Avoid them if you value your time. Had a flat, called RA at 6:3O. Was told tow would be here by 8:00. It’s 10:00 now. Called dispatch. He yelled and the hung up on me when I asked him when I could expect a tow.
Called RA told them to send other company. They said they had several Negative issues with charity tow co. and apologized. Hopefully the new company will be here soon.

About Time Towing was here in less the 40 min. from time called. With a courteous driver and a really nice tow truck. Like REALLY unusually clean white tow truck.

Any time you need a tow truck it’s never for a good reason but the guy who Charity sent out to me to tow my vehicle made it a great experience. He was very friendly and work extremely fast and efficient. He was able to make an unpleasant experience more pleasant. Also thought it was real cool how their signs say that they donate money from every job to charity. Very neat concept. If I ever need a tow again I’ll definitely call them and recommend them to anyone who needs a tow.

Zero star, we have been waiting here for over 3 hours and still nothing, when I call back they keep telling me it will be «just another 30 more minutes» I don’t know if they are towing the valley with just one driver but this type of costumers service is not acceptable, I don’t know how they are still in business. I will not EVER recommend this towing company to anyone. Don’t waste your time.

I didn’t want to use this company but Liberty Mutual sent them to us. Originally my ETA was 89 minutes, wow! Ok fine, we waited. Then, they were 15 mins late from that 89 min window. I called both the company & LM and was told «the driver will call you in 5.» Ok… Nope no call. Finally called back LM, «driver is running late he will be another 15 mins but he will call you in 15 with an update.» Grr, ok fine. That 15 mins rolls by and I called AGAIN, I’ve been waiting over 2 hours by this point. This is where it gets good…
I call the towing company and they say they no longer have an ETA and can’t get a hold of the driver. WHAT?!
They asked to please give them 5 mins to call back. During this 5 min window, the driver calls us finally to say he’s 17 miles away and will be another 30 – 45 minutes. SAY WHAT?!
My husband takes the phone and says we’ve been waiting over 2 hours and have a newborn baby at home waiting. He then says to us, «well maybe you should pay real money then» Excuse me?! I’m paying out of pocket for this tow and my insurance only covers a portion. He then continues to swear at us and say since we aren’t «paying them» that we keep getting bumped! Then we tell him to forget picking up the car and he threatens to take it any ways and «take it somewhere.» After a good 2 minutes of yelling my husband finally hangs up on him. We call the company who hangs up on us twice and then says the «owner will call us». Yeah right…
I reported this company and its unprofessional behavior to my insurance company. If you’re in the same boat call your insurance company and ask for another company to tow you. Quality towing took over and brought our car home safe to us within 15 mins of crap issue. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY and I’ve told every social media outlet I can to spread the word. I work in customer service and have NEVER imagined such a horrible employee can treat their PAYING customers like this. Looks like this is trend too based on all the other reviews.

One of the worse experiences I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Ever.
I got stranded last night at the Dutch Bros at Camelback and Central. I called my insurance (State Farm) and set up a tow truck to come pick me up. The eta was 9:12. This was about 7:42pm, so I had 90 minutes to wait. Whatever, not a big deal.
9:12 comes and goes. No tow truck (no call either). I call them up, and the dispatcher says their driver is right around the corner. This was the beginning of all the lies and misinformation.
9:45 comes around. No truck. I call back, and the dispatcher tells me she is going to call the driver and get to the bottom of things. She tells me she will call me back in a few minutes. She actually is a women of her word, and lets me know it should be another 20 minutes. No real explanation given, but she furiously apologized.
20 minutes come and go. Nothing. Then, I get a call from the tow truck driver himself. He asks me if I am by the houses or the park. Looking around the intersection, I asked him where he was. He was at South Mountain and Central, instead of Camelback. Even though I know my insurance had the right address, and the dispatcher also had the right address, somehow the driver still was mistaken.
Whatever though. I am a patient man. The driver tells me he is gonna book it and should be
there by 10:45. Can you guess what happens next?
10:45 comes and goes. At around 11, I call dispatch and she tells me he is at Thomas and 7^th Street. Okay, that isn’t too bad. This is the beginning of the end right?
15 minutes pass. Nothing. I call back and dispatch tells me the truck broke down, but he fixed the issue and should be there in another 30… okay then.
Finally around 11:30 I get a call, and I hear this curse ridden driver very angrily explain to me that he is on his way and isn’t anything more than 15 minutes out.
Right before midnight, I see this tow truck drive like a bat out of hell. He passes straight by the Dutch (even though I have talked to him more than once and told him exactly where car was stranded). He pulls into the wrong turn, and then squeals his way into Dutch after having to reverse himself out of a jam.
He gets out of his truck, and starts to swear up a storm. There might have been an apology stuck in there, but who knows. He complains that he is working well after his shift is over, and that dispatch isn’t even answering his calls. He has me text him the address of the shop I need him to drop the car off at, and finally loads up my car. I wish him a fond farewell, and finally make my way out of there.
3 hours late. Curse ridden. Rude. Unprofessional. Bold faced liars. I could have wrote this post out twice as long if I wanted to include every tiny thing…
If you had any choice in the matter, do not work with them. One of the worse experiences I have had with a company of any type in my existence.
