If I could have selected a half-​star, that would have been more appropriate. Before I experienced the abusive treatment of (DR) Gross, I wish I’d read more reviews. I don’t care what kind of background or accolades this «DR» has, but I will tell you this, he absolutely should not be working with the public/​patients. Since my husband sat with me for each of my many appts. for a severe chronic dry eye syndrome, he agrees that Gross has an anger management issue, depression and/​or absolutely hates what he does. I have many examples I would be happy to share upon request. A big thank you to the gentleman Rob A. who followed through with a Complaint. Who knew we’d need a support group after going to an ophthalmologist for serious eye issues!!!

I am very thankful that I met Dr. Gross. He is very knowledgeable and very professional. He did cornea surgery for my daughter who was at the time under 1 year. The surgery was very successful and after 40 days; she ruptured her globe while playing, my heart shattered. I cried a lot when it happened and couldn’t look at her eye. Its very hard to see that when you are a parent. She was taken by an ambulance to the hospital. It was Saturday night on April 26, 2015. On Sunday morning Dr Gross came and did a surgery on her ruptured eye. Well he was off and he could have stayed home but Dr gross cared enough to come at the hospital and did the surgery. In my heart and mind he is the best Doctor that I have seen so far. He cares a lot for his patients and that’s very important. Also the staff at the office are very nice always with a smile! Thank you Dr Robert Gross. My Daughter’s eye is looking good now. I am sorry it took me this time to post it.

Both the staff and doctor (Dau) are shockingly unprofessional. Staff is completely unresponsive and does not return phone calls. When you finally get ahold of them and ask why they don’t return calls, you can expect a very responsive call from the doctor himself telling you to treat his staff better or find another doctor. Dr. Dau’s malicious bullying leaves me with absolutely no confidence in his capabilities as a professional, and I will not let him anywhere near my son. I will sooner go to a different office, city, state, or even country before subjecting my son to this office.

Wow! I don’t even know where to begin to describe how awful our experience was! The staff is rude and unresponsive, the wait time is 1 hour plus, and the doctor is unprofessional and arrogant. After trying to schedule appointments and surgery with them for a week and getting frustrated because they are so busy and important they won’t return your calls Dr Dao personally called me with guess what?! Not to smooth things out, not to ask me if we needed anything, not to make sure we were taken care of, oh no! He called and said, I quote «if you continue to talk to my staff like you have to find another doctor. I will not tolerate this.» Yes, he actually said that! And all I said was that I was frustrated with the fact that after multiple messages people won’t return my calls! He will rather defend his incompetent staff than take care of his patients! He thinks it’s appropriate to call patients to reprimand and threaten them! I still can’t believe he actually picked up the phone, called me and said what he said!
Needless to say, we cancelled all appointments and surgery and will now have to go out of state to get my son the treatment he needs. But anything is better than dealing with an arrogant doctor who isn’t even as good as he thinks he is! Really wish I’d looked up his ratings before we wasted time on him. DO NOT GO TO HIM!
UPDATE: Since they posted a self-​praising review in response to mine I feel the need to post an update on some objective facts. Dr Dao told us HIMSELF his corneal rejection rate is around 50%!!! The doctor we found in CA (Dr Tawansy for anyone who needs a pediatric specialist) has the rate of less than 5%!!! dr Dao’s response to our concerns about how high the rate was? We’ll worry about it when he’s on his third transplant. Hope now it’s clear who sees patients from all of the country and who is a better doctor.
Also, no one threatened anyone in that office, get a grip, the doctor threatened ME on the phone, no one called them everyday, I waited patiently for several days before calling. And the rant they posted clearly shows how polite and caring and attentive they are since they can’t even resist responding to a bad review. Well, they have some work cut out for them since mine isn’t the only bad review online. 90% of them are bad, everywhere. Also, we ditched dr Dao ourselves, not the other way round and are very happy that we did since our son has much better chances now.
In conclusion, I want to thank Dr Dao for showing his true colors to us so quickly. We had time to cancel him and find somebody else. I’m happy we didn’t go through with the surgery, it would’ve been a much worse scenario.

Staff is rude! Dr Dao is rude and won’t listen to any concerns you have. He refused to read previous reffering ophthalmologist notes. When i asked why my daughter eye has been red for the past 5 years he said its inflammation. He checked my daughter eye and said it looks fine beside inflammation. Now let me remind you he checked her eyes in less than one minute. Most of the time he tried telling me i need to stick with one ophthalmologist and how irresponsible i am. Uncaring doctors please pay someone else that truly care! Stay away from this place

I had a horrible experience with Dr Gross. I had a terrible outcome after his «treatment» and he is just one of the most uncaring, arrogant, condesending people I’ve ever met. His office staff, in my opinion, is hired to «protect» him from patients and their questions. If you have a medical issue and need to talk to a doctor — you won’t get him — his technicians will tell you what to do and if you call after hours or you’ll get a lecture on how you bother them. I went to see two other corneal MD’s in the Valley and Dr Gross completely misdiagnosed me and was providing the wrong treatment. Bad medical care, nasty, angry man and mean office workers… that’s all I got here. I would never recommend him and I hope others stay away.

Dr. Gross seemed knowledgeable, hence the one star. The office staff was rude and uncaring. There were 2 patients in the waiting room who were in obvious pain. There was no attempt to accommodate them, even after one of them asked for help. The wait time was one hour. Dr. Gross was short and rude, and criticized the treatment plan of the specialist that sent us to his office. Dr. Gross did not make eye contact with us or give us the chance to ask questions. The woman at the check out was highly impersonal and rude as well. I can’t remember a time that I have felt more unimportant in a drs office. Eye problems are frightening, and can be very painful. I cannot recommend this office to anyone. We will not be back.
