I recently tried to purchase a range that this appliance store had advertised on Craigslist. I couldn’t pick it up or view it for a few days, but was told if I put a $ 50.00 deposit on it it would be held for me– but I would lose my $ 50.00 if I didn’t purchase. I thought this policy to be fair. I continued the next following days with communications of my continued intentions to purchase range with Carol(the owner). Finally, after a few days I called up Carol and told her I would be picking up the range that day. She said that she was glad I called because someone had offered her more money. Carol assured me it was still my appliance, but that she was unsure that it would accomodate my 3 prong plug and that she would call me back. I decided not to wait for the call and drove to pick up MY appliance. Well it seems as if I was too late that it had already been sold to someone else! She offered to send a repairman over to check if my range could be repaired, but my husband was adament that this business could not be trusted and he didn’t want any more dealings with them. I felt that others should be aware of their«sell to the highest bidder» tactic and not be honest with their sales and communications.
