Granite Dude

Work was performed well and looks good and Scott and Lupe know what they’re doing, BUT, Josh doesn’t have a clue how to take care of customers and will run and hide when problems arise.
1. My wife did the complete picking of granite for counters and installation date, BUT, was not make clear that Granite Dude does not do the faucet installation. When the day came to rip out old plumbing and install new countertops, we were stuck trying to find a plumber at moments notice to install new faucets and hook them up. Ended up paying twice as much for a plumber to come and install new faucets.
2. My wife had called over the phone and spoke with Josh two weeks earlier about switching sinks to a different kind. Josh said no problem. But when the day came, the wrong sink was installed and once you cut granite you have what you have. Josh refused to answer phone calls and his boss had to talk for him and said because it wasn’t in writing there was nothing he could do. Gave my wife a $ 300 dollar refund for the «problem»
Be careful ladies and make sure every step of the process is covered when you do a big job like this and always read the fine print.

I’m out of state & during a visit to Phoenix met & started working with a gal that seemed on the ball; just what I needed to finish a project at our rental. She stopped communicating after I returned home. Found Granite Dude online by searching for Phx fabricators and I couldn’t be more pleased. Matt exceeded my expectations & I have high standards as my hubbie is in the business too. I found the perfect granite on clearance but only saw one slab; Matt personally picked out the 2 best slabs for our project, set up the template measure immediately, the install was flawless and on time. All the extras were the icing on the cake! Many thanks to Matt and his crew for easing all my concerns. My tenant was pleased with their professionalism and expertise as well! Matt did this without ever meeting me! I highly recommend Granite Dude!

Great to work with. They were very professional and did a fantastic job. They were priced $ 500 more than the other bids, but went with them due to their responsiveness and Josh’s attention to detail. Very glad I did!

We had our granite chosen at Aracruz and had several recommended contractors for fabrication. We chose Matt at The Granite Dude as our final choice. He was responsive and knew exactly what we wanted. We needed two slabs (tough install and awkward shaped island) and his template and installation went wonderfully. The one seam we knew we would have can’t be found without an expert eye. I met Matt last week for a bid. Matt is a straight shooter and someone I’ll be working with in the future. His understanding of my silly, complex schedule and no pressure attitude was quite impressive. I personally would recommend Matt, even though he’s never actually done work for me. He’s honest, forthright and accommodating.

I simply can’t say enough awesome things about Matt at Granite Dude. Quite simply this dude LOVES granite, and is darn good at his job. I actually live in Dallas, and needed to import some exotic slabs from Phoenix. My fabricator here suggested I get a trusted fabricator to inspect them. So I came across Matt, and while he had zero monetary gain for doing so he enthusiastically went out of his way to check this stuff out. Well they arrived and we were all blown away, he was right they are awesome. If I was in Phoenix, Matt would be the first guy I call. Thanks Matt!!!

Granite Dude was a great experience for us. I had refinished my kitchen cabinets myself, so taking the money plunge to redo the counters in granite was a big step! (I really had to have faith in the work that I did!) My boyfriend arranged the first appointment and was very impressed with their phone and in-​person service. They were friendly, knowledgeable, walked him through all the steps and timelines, and alleviated any of our concerns about our funky kitchen (like the giant gap between the he back of the side-​in stove and the wall, due to the gas pipes sticking out of the wall, and the fact that I needed the counters to be at least 2-​inches thick because of aforementioned stove). Next, Matt met us at the granite yard and I was crazy impressed how he literally walked through the entire place with us — inside and out — looking at each slab. He asked questions about the look we wanted, I had a sample door with me and we used it to ensure the colors played off each other in the right way. He had my style down pretty well after awhile and could tell which ones I wouldn’t go for so we could quickly move on. The man had style! He really understood the look I was aiming for. Finally, towards the end, we all three stood in front of «the one» and we ALL knew that one was it. It was a proud moment. Matt had the yard guys pull a few slabs out so I could pick the ones I wanted. We paid our deposit. And about two weeks later, they were there installing. The whole tear out old and install new process went great. Everything went smoothly. They were quick, cleaned up any mess, and it all looked amazing when it was done. I absolutely LOVE my kitchen and now have absolutely no reservations about making that investment to «top» my DIY kitchen remodel. I get fantastic compliments on the cabinets and the counters now. When I get the backsplash tile installed, I’ll post pictures so you can see Granite Dude’s great work. (It looks funny now without the backsplash so pictures wouldn’t do it justice just yet!) I love my kitchen! I love my kitchen! Thank you, Granite Dude, for being awesome through the whole process and helping complete my kitchen remodel! I would recommend them to anyone!

Matt and his crew at Granite Dude are hands down the best contractors I have ever worked with! They were on time or early for every single appointment, professional, friendly, and do extremely high quality work. I have worked with many contractors, in three different homes, and if I ever need any additional work done, Granite Dude will be the first phone call I make. Typically, I have found contractors to be difficult to reach, always late, and in a hurry to get the job done and get paid, rather than focused on quality. Matt is the polar opposite! He is very knowledgable, but doesn’t pressure you. He makes great suggestions, his communication is impeccable, and he even called shortly after the job was finished just to make sure I was completely happy with the job. We knew exactly what to expect throughout the process of choosing and installing our quartz countertops, and his crew was considerate and was even high-​fiving my kids on their way out the door! Had a great experience with everyone at Granite Dude. From the initial phone call where Jill explained the process to meeting with Josh to pick out our granite and sink to the day of installation — everything was clear, the process was easy and they did exactly what they said they would.

So we wanted to upgrade the laundry room as it had the original 27 year old white laminate counter top and the top mounted sink that was just ugly as heck so we contacted the Granite Dude. First of all he returned our call within minutes of leaving a voice mail and even though this wasn’t a big job he was willing to spend some time on the phone explaining the different thickness of granite, 2 cm and 3 cm basically ¾ and 1 ¼ inch thickness and the different price ranges of the different granite based on the quanity of a particular stone that is being mined and where it comes from. So with a new knowledge set in hand we picked out a nice piece of stone and proceeded with the job. We got a call about two weeks later that the install was all set for the following day at approximately 2 pm if that was ok and it was. The installer showed up a little early and proceeded to remove the old counter top, I had already disconnected the sink they don’t do plumbing, measure and cut the counter top angle and install. I had added a little cabinet since talking to Matt and the installer, Luis, had brought along a little piece to put on top of that new cabinet. The back splash I wanted a little higher than the original and they had no problem making that happen now I don’t have to paint where the old backsplash was, I hate painting. Nice new under mount sink smaller than the original as requested so there is more counter space. The crew were in and out in an hour and a half cleaning up after themselves and hauled away the old countertop. Perfect job, perfect ft of the angled backsplash and the little piece on the new cabinet is awesome. Can’t recommend these guys any higher than five stars but I wish the scale went higher. If you need granite or any type of counter top these are the guys to go to. Professional, on time, on price point and easy to work with.

I have been using Matt from Granite Dude for many years and they are by far the best granite company I have ever used. They always look out for me and my customers best interest. I’m a first time home owner, and as I quickly learned, most contractors either (a) take advantage of their customers’ inexperience and/​or (b) nickel and dime you by giving you a low bid, and then start charging for extra materials in the middle of the job.
By the time I got around to Granite Dude, I was well versed in detecting who is legit and who isn’t — the reason I would recommend Granite dude is:
1. Their customer service is excellent
2. The quality of work is excellent
3. They are upfront, and don’t try and hide costs — they will tell you what the final price will be right off the bat.
4. They do what they say they will do (ie, showing up on time, no whining about unexpected events, charges, etc etc)
Their bids for me included fabrication of the granite slab, install of granite and install of plywood subtop, sealing of granite, removal and disposal of old countertops, 4in backsplash (and a little more in my case), edge type, as well as taxes. In my case, they helped me with remnant pieces of granite from other jobs to cover smaller areas like my bathroom (ie, save a little money)
In contrast, there two other contractors who gave me a number that equalled Granite Dude’s final quote, but just for labor. They were going to charge me for two full slabs (ie no remnants) — without any mention of sealing, disposal costs and taxes. Complete shmucks. When they asked me if I had any other quotes, I just got up and left, I was so disgusted. Called Granite Dude and set up the install.
I would definitely do business with them again.

I could go on and on about the completely wonderful experience I have had — 2 times now — with Matt the Granite Dude.
Several years ago he did my 2 bathrooms with granite countertops including the sink purchase. From start — meeting Matt for the first time, picking out the granite (with much needed guidance from Matt) to finish — the perfect installation of the beautiful granite and sinks — it was an absolutely wonderful experience.
I returned to Matt this month for my kitchen granite countertops. I purchased new cabinets through a ‘big box’ retailer and though the cabinets are truly beautiful, the cabinet installation morphed into a terrible, terrible experience, especially due to a gross measurement miscalculation of my corner sink configuration.
I don’t even know where to begin about the AMAZING job Matt and company pulled off again. Matt again helped me pick out the granite (thanks Matt for your patience and guidance with my indecisiveness). He beat the big box subcontractor price almost 20%. He beat the time to install close to 58%. And the installation was as close to almost seamless as possible. Due to the big box incorrect corner sink cabinetry measurements, Matt’s granite installers had to do some cutting of the inside cabinet skins and reinforce the sink area. The installers and Scott did not even bat an eye with that cabinet hitch. They knew exactly what to do to make it totally right — no angst, no additional cost, no worries, no whining. They just got-​r-​dun. What the cabinet installation company should have done, the Matt’s granite installers accomplished beautifully — at the sink and the entire kitchen.
The granite kitchen counters themselves — BEAUTIFUL.
If you are looking for someone that can over deliver on every aspect of your countertop purchase, this is the person to go to. Matt and Company — THANK YOU! A million Thank yous!

Not sure whether they are good or not. But they are not willing to do small projects at all. If you are not using at least one slab of granite don’t call these guys.

I had the pleasure of working with Granite Dude and his staff. This project was from start to finish the best process I’ve ever had with any kind of contractor. From the sales process dealing with Matt, to the installers Lupe and his team, was professional and excellent! They set and managed my expectations as to how the process would go and it went exactly as they stated. The price was affordable but the product and the service was outstanding. I have the most beautiful backyard BBQ, fire table and bar area I’ve ever seen! If you use anyone else for granite of any kind you are missing out.

I decided not give a single star since the granite dude didn’t actually work at my house. The reason I gave such a low number of stars is this. I do most of my repairs through the reviews I find on Unilocal.Usually this works out great. unfortunately this time that is not the case. I have a piece of granite that was installed incorrectly when I bought my house. The piece is severely cracked and needs replaced. I contacted the granite dude and left my number. He called me back and asked that that I text him a picture which I did. After a day or two with no follow up I called and left a message asking for my quote. No response. I then texted the number a few days later again no response. It would have been nice to have been called to let me know the price or if they weren’t interested.
I was followed up with and it turns out that I sent the information to the wrong number. We are working on quoting this. Thank you for the follow up.

If you are looking for granite for any type of project — look no further than these guys. Matt, Josh, and the rest of the Granite Dude team are the definition of a consummate professional.
We did a home renovation and needed granite for a few areas in our house (kitchen, laundry room, etc.). From the very first call until the time the granite was installed, I could not have asked for a better experience. Matt and Josh are extremely knowledgeable and walked us through the entire process while thoroughly answering all of our questions. After we selected our granite, we were kept in the loop every step of the way. The install went flawless and the whole crew went above and beyond the whole time they were at our house, even sweeping off our driveway for us!
Having dealt with a lot of contractors throughout our entire home renovation, I guarantee you will not find a better company, or people, than Granite Dude! They have set the bar VERY high for the level of customer service we should expect to receive in the future. I recently moved to Scottsdale and had no idea who to contact on my kitchen remodel. After reading Unilocal reviews, I selected Matt the Granite Dude. Excellent choice! Matt either answers the phone or returns calls promptly. He honors his word on date, time of installation. His granite installation team? #1 in installation details, respectful but friendly and very impressive overall. EVERYTHING was exactly done as I requested. They even said «if you decide you want a soap dispenser, we can do that. Just call us – it will be $ 50.» Here’s the amazing part. After a month or so, I decided to have a garbage disposal air switch added. I called Matt, he referred me to Scott. Called Scott and he scheduled it the following Saturday, arrived on time, did a great job. The amazing part? When I asked to confirm the $ 50 fee, he said «don’t worry about it!» AND, he was serious! Regardless, I paid the $ 50. I was blown away by his offer. These guys are nice, honest AND do a great job. Thank you Matt and granites dudes who makeup his team. I’m a fan.
