Opened in late 2012 by local AZ guitar enthusiast wanting to create a unique guitar shop in Central Phoenix. We Buy, Sell, Trade, Repair & offer private instruction.

We are a privately owned music shop who have provided music lessons in the valley for over 3 years! We now have eight advanced professional instructors specializing in everything from Classical Contemporary Rock Blues Jazz Flamenco Gypsy Punk Funk Folk etc, offering instruction in Guitar Bass Banjo Violin Mandolin Ukulele Piano/​Keys Percussion & Voice for All Ages, Styles & Experience Levels. We offer a Free Introductory Lesson. Availability Tues-​Sat 11 – 7. $ 120/​month for 4 ½ hour lessons. Hour lessons available for $ 55. Discounts when you sign up for 3 – 6 months in advance & when you sign up multiple students.

I had played two guitars the tech, Doug, had setup before going in and was surprised how great he had gotten some cheap guitars to play. Outside of this I was looking for a new tech after having a few bad setups and experiences at a shop in south Scottsdale which led me to Guitar Tree. After taking my Jaguar into get setup I’ll definitely send the rest of my guitars through this shop. I can’t believe how great the fretboard felt after Doug’s work, plus he knew how to treat some of the common issues Jaguar and Jazzmaster bridges have.
When picking my guitar up, the owner of the shop encouraged me to play until I knew I was satisfied with the setup and also told me if I had any adjustments to be made they’d be free for the next 30 days. My setup had a three-​day turnaround which was nice. I paid for a full setup plus partial fret leveling.

I am a working musician that lives less then a mile from this shop. When it opened i was excited because i thought it would be extremely convenient to pick up things i need like strings, cables, picks etc… today is now the third time i have went by this shop during what is supposed to be their open business hours, and the door is locked with apparently no one inside. When i called it went voicemail. It is a complete shame because i would love for them to be my go to place, but not being able to trust if they will actually be open or not isn’t really what i’m looking for. Super bummer.

These guys are great! Very friendly and patient. I could tell they truly cared about helping musicians of all abilities find what they are looking for. My personal experience: last week, I had bought a builder Japanese guitar, but was of a more rare configuration on a black Friday impulse buy. Nothing wrong with it at all, just something I found was beyond my ability to do right, but would be perfect for a veteran guitar tech. Anyway, I brought it in to Guitar Tree, and they gave me a better than fair trade on it, for a complete and working, almost new looking and great sounding stratocaster. I am very happy with not only the guitar I ended up with from Guitar Tree, but I think the guys there couldn’t have been more helpful and treated me right! I highly recommend them.

I love this place! I’ve sold some stuff at Guitar Tree and it’s always hassle free. They always offer such good trade value that it’s hard not to walk out of there with something. I’ve sold a few things at Guitar Center and was a bad experience. Guitar Center endlessly tests whatever I’m selling and they scrutinize over ridiculous details then typically low ball. there’s all kinds of paper work involved and it takes forever. Guitar Tree knows what you got, knows what it’s worth and you’re in and out with a hand shake. I also noticed that most of the used guitars there are «set-​up» well and are easy to play right off the wall. I live 25 minutes away but don’t mind the drive at all. enjoy going there!

I broke my acoustic guitar string early Saturday morning. Called revolver records store and they sent me here for strings.
I rode my bike up here, nice little house, that’s the business. Can’t miss it, big sign. Cool people greeted me, no douche musician types that don’t want to help you. We chatted as they rung me up. They told me they also carry vinyls here as well. Good prices, I’ll be back!

What a great little store. Staff was super helpful & friendly. I had to get my son a guitar case for a high school guitar class. We had no idea what we were looking for. The man totally helped us find what we needed & gave me a $ 20 discount on the case.

I had been shopping for a guitar for my daughter around town and doing my homework on the Internet when I saw this place advertising on Craigslist. I took the time to stop by and am so happy I did. I’ve spent endless hours walking around Guitar Center trying to find a guitar that sounds great, looks great and fits my budget (about $ 500). I walked into the Guitar Tree with the intention of browsing and walked out with the perfect guitar! The staff was friendly and they have great products. I recommend everyone gives this place a chance before making their next guitar purchase.

Guitar Tree has an eclectic collection of rare and collectible guitars. Their prices are reasonable, the customer service is excellent, and their love of guitars and music shows through the interactions they have with their customers. Thanks for the gold top Les Paul, fellas. It is amazing.
