As a Realtor in the business of protecting my client’s interests it is important for me to make proper recommendations. Anyone who I refer reflects directly upon me. Therefor it’s extremely important that I have faith and confidence that they will meet or exceed my client’s expectations. I have worked with all of the inspectors here, though mostly Steve, and I can honestly say that this is the best company I’ve ever worked with. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely thorough. At the end of every inspection My client and I both get a printed report with pictures! Normally you just get an email and you follow the guy around as they scroll through their ipad. The pricing is very fair, and the service top notch. To the team at J Dewey Home Inspections, Thank you so much for being the all-​stars that you are. YOU ROCK!!!

Despite my 2-​star review, I might call J Dewey again, but would demand a different inspector Obviously the quality of the one’s home inspection depends mostly on the individual inspector they dispatch, not the company the inspector works for. In my case the person they sent out to inspect my house in late April had a poor attitude. He seemed irritated that I (the homebuyer) showed up to the inspection, and he seemed to get even more irritated when I introduced myself and tried to share a few concerns with him. He missed one obvious and serious plumbing defect, which I had to point out to him, and at first he tried to argue with me. He spent nearly all of the time I was there working on his computer on his report, which contained a couple of glaring errors. The address on the front cover was listed incorrectly as «street» rather than «place.» And on page one, the inspector’s name was even incorrect. Upon leaving the property, the inspector sighed and lamented that he still had another one of «these things» to do that day. My realtor who was also there to witness most of his performance, described him politely has «not her favorite home inspector.» Bottom line, I think J Dewey may need to practice a little more quality control in the inspectors they take on.

Buying my first home, I wasn’t really sure what to expect from a home inspector (try saying that 10 times fast).
J Dewey did my inspection at the advice of my realtor, and I couldn’t have felt more assured about the home I was purchasing by the time they were done. I was a little apprehensive after choosing a historic home (built in 1925) — as was my inspector Steve Bartolomei. However, we were pleasantly surprised with the results. He walked me through all of his findings and definitely put my mind to ease about the condition of the home I was purchasing which we were both surprised to find, was in really great shape (insert heavy sigh of relief).
I received a comprehensive color report printed on site as well as a full walk through off all the features of the property including, but not limited to water/​gas/​electric shut offs, weird quirks in the carpentry/​electrical work, etc. I found Steve to be very personable and easy to chat with while also being extremely open to answering all of the random questions I could fathom, as well as those being relayed via text from my other half.
Definitely worthy of 5-​stars! Thanks again Steve!

I hired J Dewey to do a pre drywall inspection on a home I’m building in Gilbert. My inspector was Steve who is also one of the owners and noticed he was very meticulous about what he does. He thoroughly went through the home documenting all the items very clearly. He also took pictures of everything. Once completed he printed multiple copies of his report. He went over the entire document walking around the entire house showing me all his concerns. Although my home’s inspection was rather good, there were items which Steve found that needed attention and explained to me why. As a new home builder this inspection gave me documented material to show my builder who can then address those items.

As opposed to the previous review of this company, I had nothing but a positive experience of this business. My inspector’s name was Steve Bartolomei, and he put a considerable amount of time inspecting my hopefully future home. After compiling his information and taking his photos, he condensed everything into an easily readable report that my wife and I could read at our leisure. He even took the time to go over with me all of the areas in his report where he thought there was an area of concern.
His fee was quite reasonable, and he answered my many and varied questions about the property thoroughly. Very professional and friendly service.

J Dewey Property Inspection was recommended to me by another Realtor at my office who has been very happy with them over the years. I’ve used an Inspector named Phil from J Dewey Inspection for several deals now and my clients have been very happy. Phil goes the extra mile and spends as much time at the end of the Inspection answering any questions the client may have. He is willing to review something until they understand. He also prints out the Inpection Report with pictures right there on the premises which is very nice. Our clients have to make decisions very quickly these days with all the Foreclosures and Short Sales which are usually AS IS deals. Knowing what you need to know and having the documentation in hand when you leave to take to review with others etc. that very day etc. is very nice. Inspection period can be stressful and these people make it a smoother process. I can’t comment on the person who gave them one star because he thinks they had an unfair advantage on the purchase of a home as I was not there, but it seems unfair to rate their ability to identify issues with a property (which is their job) when he has never even had an Inspection done by their company?
