It gave me chills to read the review by Phil P. In the mid-1990’s I tried to get full custody of my children and I had a current restraining order from my former husband. Police reports documented violence toward me, slashed tires, and witnesses deposed under oath of the violence they observed. We were court ordered to have John DiBacco, PhD, to be our Child Custody Evaluator. After two visits interviewing and testing me and my former husband, he determined that I was«over-reactive» and my former husband had«to work on conflicts». He determined that«shared custody» needed to be court ordered. It was unbelievable because he ignored multiple documented violent events towards me from my former husband that were presented to him. My children are now in their mid-20’s. After multiple violent acts towards them from their father, they finally were able to live with me full time when they became 14. So after a short, few hours Dr. DiBacco issued a «sentence» of sending my children into a home that resulted in multiple violence acts that occurred on them. If Dr. DiBacco was truly looking out for my children’s best interest, he would have not ignored the events of violence that were demonstrated by my former husband. This psychologist has no business inflicting his evaluations to put children in violent situations. I used several years of counseling(which their father doesn’t believe in) with my children to discuss the«cycle of violence» and how to constructively deal with the damage that was inflicted on them by their father. As Phil P. relays, this psychologist is incompetent! He ignores document evidence of violence and does not protect children from violence.
