I absolutely adore this salon and all of the people that work there! By far my best experience in a salon yet! All of the girls are incredibly talented! My gel manicure lasts a solid 3−½ weeks. Tracy is my girl and she is W O N D E R F U L; so kind, so fun and just an all around awesome technician! Shallona, the owner, is positively great! ¹⁰⁄₁₀ for everything; great prices, great people! Highly, highly recommend!!!

I had an appointment yesterday for the very first time and I love this place. The set-​up is adorable and the girls who work there are so polite and friendly. They have great pricing and even greater quality. I definitely recommend this place and I am definitely coming back :)

This place is so cute! Katie is such a great nail tech, a perfectionist! Great colors, vegan polish, positive energy.

First off, I adore the set up. It’s very chic/​modern and cute! Second, the ladies in there were so very sweet and awesome to talk to. I forget her name but I believe she’s the owner… she informed us about all their nail products which are vegan My nail tech Tracy is the sweetest lady and she did a great job on my nails!
I will definitely be going back

Got my deal on groupon, but was really surprised by the service! My nails look awesome:) cute place and super friendly! Excited that it’s down the street from my work and home!!! I was so tired of trying new nail salons that didn’t really know what they were doing, or tried to rush me through my appointment. They gave me the nice relaxing service I was looking for, but also the attentiveness, with great nails;-) I got 2 compliments after I left:) I will definitely be back

I don’t usually write reviews but I’m really upset about my experience here.
I came here because there was a groupon so I wanted to try this new place. I have come in twice now, hoping the second time would make up for the first time:
Visit 1: I came in for a Gel Manicure and Pedicure. After FOUR effing hours I only left with a frigging pedicure and a partial mani. I had an appointment, the salon was not busy, I literally had one lady tending to me for 4 hours moving at a snails pace. I was being SUPER understanding because this lady (Anne, who I believe was fired after what happened with me) was chatting away and telling me her whole life story and I was like damn, well shes nice and I’ll just give her a break and not complain cus maybe she is having a bad day. The salon was lucky that I had nowhere to be that day otherwise I would have been raising hell. I came in at 4 pm and by 7:30 Anne was still not done. The owner was getting frustrated because she had to rush home to her dog and Anne started panicking and rushing. So I thought to myself «ohhh hellll noooo I havn’t been waiting FOUR hrs to leave with shitty nails.» So I just told Anne that since the owner wants to close up I’ll just let my nails «rest» and get a gel mani later so that we can leave. Anne only got to file/​shape/​buff my nails and put on some clear nail stengthener. No polish. I LITERALLY HAD TO COMFORT THE NAIL TECH BECAUSE SHE WAS FREAKING OUT. I HAD TO CALM HER DOWN BY STAYING CALM MYSELF. Literally, bizarre. I left at 8 pm. WHAT. THE. HELL. But whatever, Anne was fired, so there’s that. And yes I still tipped her because I am a decent human being.
Visit 2: I came in a week later to get my gel Mani that was OWED to me. I requested Sandra because she seemed to be doing a great job when I came the first time. She was nice, attentive, my nails looked clean. I noticed she did make the gel polish pretty thick and it was on my cuticles on several of my nails but she put lots of oil and lotion so it didn’t look like an issue. As I write this review it has not even been a full week yet and my gel nails are all messed up. All that gel on my cuticles ended up being a HUGE problem because it peeled off my cuticles and now they look all uneven and you can see how the nails chipped on the sides by the cuticles. I have had other nail techs file down the excess and shape them nicely so that the gel won’t do that. Sandra didnt do that, she left the gel on my cuticle and it bit me in the ass later. So no, the second visit DID NOT make up for the first visit. Mind you, I live in Tempe. I only go to Phoenix to visit family so this whole experience was out of the way for me, twice. Sooo not worth it.
Oh I forgot to mention that prior to Anne, my nails were long and gorgeous. After she worked on them, they were all brittle so by the time I saw Sandra, one had broken so all my nails had to be cut down.
Since I am on a roll now, the décor is very cute but totally overrated. The pretty pink pedicure chairs are only that: pretty and pink. They are regular cushioned sitting chairs. No massage, no recliner, you just sit there. That aint «spa treatment.» My back actually hurt after sitting in them! But again… didn’t complain because I am too frigging nice. So here I am now complaining because I was let down TWICE!
The salon gets a star for their honest attempt at making the décor cute, but hopefully they invest in some real salon chairs. I have to acknowledge their honest attempt at customer service: greeting, offering water, etc. But they still get –4 stars for giving me the most DISAPPOINTING nail experience ever.
My situation was hopefully too bizarre to happen again (I hope for all you ladie’s sakes). But because of how upsetting it was for me, I really feel the need to point it out and let others know. This salon is new and has a lot of things to work on.
Of course I won’t be back. A third let down would be torture, so I give up on this salon.

Everyone that works here is super friendly, and Shallana is so great! The nail polish is all vegan, and the colors are really pretty. Really big selection.

This place is adorable! It’s in kind of a funky location, but don’t judge based on the shopping center. It’s so cute inside! The hot pink upholstered chairs are fun. The owner is extremely friendly and explained their cruelty free and reduced chemical polishes to me. It was easy to get an appointment and they were ready for me right when I arrived.
I had the Mint Condition signature pedicure with gel. They use basins instead of jet tubs (so much cleaner) and filled the basin with fresh mint leaves! The pedicure was great, the gel looks awesome and is holding up perfectly.
I love the chance to have a pedicure that isn’t as laden with chemicals. This was a fun, cute, and clean nail salon and I will definitely go back.

A couple days ago, I had an unplanned afternoon off from work. The usual walk-​in salon that I go to has started to get super crowded, noisy, and just not relaxing… so I decided to utilize Unilocal… and I found Mint Nails & Spa! From the beginning, it was a win. I checked out their website, and with ease booked an appointment online. I walked in and was greeted with the friendly, personable smile of Shallana (owner). Since I was early, I had time to glance through the ~200 of animal-​friendly, Vegan, 5-​free nail polishes, help myself to water and a magazine. I could tell Shallana is an all around wonderful owner, from her accommodating manner she used towards customers calling for availability. I believe Sandra was my nail tech — she did a fantastic job shaping my nails and applying the polish. Her attention to detail, despite my scheduling an express mani, was impeccable! Many other places wouldn’t devote that kind of attention to a customer not paying for a full mani service.
Despite being new, they book quickly, so I highly recommend using their online booking to get a quick idea of what might be available!

Well luckily I waited before I did a review 2 days after I got my nails my polish started chipping and its gel polish. The next day one of my nails broke. It was a brand new set and I don’t do anything hard with my nails ugh won’t be going back!

The place was clean and modern. Staff were courteous and friendly.
I got a pedicure. They did a nice job and I had a good talk with my nail tech. They used a really nice feeling scrub and an oil based moisturizer. However my feet didn’t feel super moisturized afterwards. The pedicure was not super ticklish which is great for me.
My only real complaint is the vegan, gluten free, no animal testing polish, doesn’t last. I’d recommend bringIng your own polish.

I am so happy to see this place open! This salon is a little tucked away, but once you find it, you are welcomed into a cute and stylish salon specializing in «5 free» and vegan nail polishes. Honestly, just a few months ago I was dreaming that a place like this would exist, and here it is.
The color selection is fantastic and the service was amazing.
I highly recommend making an appointment if you are coming during an off peak time — at least until their business picks up more (which I hope it does — selfishly).

Located in the same plaza as Flavors of India, I highly recommend checking out mint nails spa for a few specific reasons I’d like to mention.
1) no parking issues
2) great, friendly staff (which is not always the case at nail salons)
3) they use top notch organic products that are not tested on animals
4) you can relax, they aren’t pushing you out the door, you can get a whole experience in (pedicures last about an hour!)
I was in town visiting friends when I decided to get a pedicure because my feet looked awful. I found mint on Unilocal and decided to check it out. I really love helping small businesses and this is definitely one we should all support. The owner really cares and it’s obvious she put her heart and soul into her business. I suggest you go online to make an appointment or call because they do get busy.
What I loved the most was the nail polish colors they offered. They were beautiful… These are things I rarely rave about. It wasn’t Opi, I actually think their polish is a step up because the quality was good and the colors aren’t boring.
If you care about animals, the environment and the quality of products salons are using, you should definitely come here. I’m far from being an activist but when I can, I try to make my contribution to mother earth… And the great service is an added bonus.
