I wanted to update my review as my experiences have unfortunately gone downhill since my first time here.
The pros:
–Got me right in on a Saturday for a gel mani (also kind of scary, shouldn’t it be busier?)
–Many different gel colors to choose from
–Offer different services to choose from like hair services and facials I believe
Cons:
–Customer service is absolutely nothing to rave about. I have encountered one friendly receptionist and all others have had terrible customer service skills.
–There is noting that stands out here. –They don’t offer you a beverage or really even smile when the tech greets you.
–Seems to be a high turn over rate except for 1 or 2 nail techs.
This most recent time I went in I had finally got my own nails to grow super long and I was so excited for my gel mani. She asked if I wanted them cut and I told her just the smallest amount, I still wanted them long. Unfortunately she chopped them pretty short. But oh well they will grow. The problem is that the tech was so unfriendly, she never introduced herself or told me her name. She didn’t even say bye to me, literally just walked my ticket up front then disappeared.
This place for nails just has nothing to get excited about, unless you find a nail tech you like I presume. I do want to try some of the other services so we will see!

In the past I have been fairly satisfied with service, but as of lately not so much. Several times now my gel nails have chipped just two or three days after my manicure. I realized this is happening because once they but the topcoat on and UV dry it, they go back and file them again on the tips. That files off the sealed UV coat. So they will chip off. I also took a friend last time. She has BEAUTIFUL long, natural nails. One had broken so she asked for a tip on that one nail. The tech started filing her nails and ended up making two nails REALLY short to match the broken one. My friend was really displeased. Then the tech touched her nail while the paint was wet. Instead of starting over, she just painted over it. I will look for a new place.

Perfect gel manicure that lasts forever… Yes please. I’m a picky client, and I hate sitting for an hour only to leave with less than perfect nails. Which is why I LOVE this place. They are awesome. Vanessa is my favorite, but I have had to see other techs when she wasn’t in on the day I needed and they were good too. Also they use the sanitary bowl liners in the pedicure bowls. This is my favorite place to go, everyone is really nice, the salon is always clean, and I never have to wait long for my appointment. I think the longest I have waited is 5 min. Awesome.

Had such a wonderful experience with Maria M. today! She is professional, listened to what I wanted and made it happen. She did an amazing job.

I went to this salon for a hair cut from Rita — great cut. She mentioned she loved my hair color. I asked if she could do the same color, yes she said. Well she has completely changed up my then beautiful color and has damaged it so much that is so fried and she recommended a Brazilian blow out — that did nothing but cost me more time and money!!! I had a shot Bob to past my ears and now with what she did my hair is about 1 inch long on top — yes she damaged extremely bad it has broken off and it still is frizzy dead!!! DONT GO TO THIS PLACE… Unless you want to be bakd!!!

Just moved here from
Buffalo and needed my hair done. Found the closest salon and found Amber! She has highlighted and now given me a great cut. I love how she starts out cutting just a little then goes shorter she doesn’t just chop! I have loved the color she gave me now love the cut. Will continue seeing her even though it’s a little pricey.

I have been a regular customer of Norterra Salon and Spa for the last 4−5yrs. Bea is my nail technician and she does the most amazing job on both my hands and my feet. I ask for the Gelish polish, Bea is professional, takes her time and does her job to perfection. I see Nikki for my eyebrow wax and refuse to see anyone else for my waxing, she not only waxes but takes her time in shaping my brows. I see Maria for my hair and highly recommend her for color treatments. Norterra salon treats their customers well. Prices are reasonable and the time spent there is well worth the money.

Absolutely loved the design that I got on my nails!!! It looked super busy when I walked in but I was seen within 2 minutes. My nails are perfect! I bite my nails and she was still able to make them look great:)

I came here to get a gel manicure by Bea and she did a phenomenal job. She was courteous and professional and I was very pleased. I ended up getting my hair cut and colored there later and loved it. I want to say my stylist what Beth or Bethany. Great customer service and I thought the prices were reasonable.

I went to this salon based on reviews from Unilocal.I won’t rely on this method concerning anything hair related going forward. I went in for highlights and color. It seemed to take the stylist a long time to put in the foils and get the color worked in. Then she started pulling the foils out and spraying them with water because it was processing faster than she thought it would. I didn’t realize this would result in my hair starting to break off into tiny pieces the next day. I’m beyond upset and quite frankly sick to my stomach. This has never happened to my hair before this appointment and I have had highlights/​color done before if somewhat irregularly. I called the salon this morning and was told the owner/​manager is out for the next couple of days. There was no one else for me to talk to about trying to remediate this situation. The stylist had another client and hasn’t called me back. I don’t even trust that another treatment from this salon will do any good. I have curly hair and have it cut by a Ouidad specialist. I’ll ask him to do a deep conditioning treatment and probably get a drastic haircut (my hair is currently about 4″ below my shoulders). I had saved up on this splurge ($ 150.00 plus tip), wanted a great look for an upcoming vacation, and now I’m terrified about how this botched partial highlight and color will affect my hair for the next year.

I have had nails services done 3 or 4 times at this salon and I think it is over priced for the quality of work, and they dont take walk-​ins on Sundays.
The last time I was there, the lady who did my nails spilled callous remover gel on the towel that my legs were resting on, causing the gel to eat away at my skin. It started as an itchy irritation that I had no idea what is was from, but by the time I showered in the morning I had a baseball-​sized WOUND on the back of my leg. I called the salon, and was offered NOTHING to make up for this, with the lady that did my nails saying that I just had sensitive skin. I WILL NEVER RETURN.

I loved from Chicago last year and have been still going to my stylist back in Chicago. She couldn’t see me on my next visit so I knew it was time to find someone local. Drove by this salon, saw the review about Maria and decided to try her. She was amazing. She’s super super sweet to start. Very kind. Cared to hear what you had to say about what you wanted out of the visit as well as just normal everyday life talk. She made sure you were happy with what she did and also said that if for some reason I get home and have second thoughts about hair changes, just to call and she’d take care of me. She also mentioned that if she’s isn’t scheduled on a day that I need that the salon would check with her and if she can come in, she will. She deserves every bit of business she gets. She’s a gem! Me and my sister went there this morning for hair appointments. I was booked with Maria and needed my ombré touched up. i needed the dark part on top darker while keeping the blond pretty down at the ends. And this is not an easy task, i have had other hair stylists mess up so i was a bit nervous. But she listened and did an amazing job. Im so happy!!! I will go back for sure. Its like striking gold when you find a good stylist and Maria is amazing.
My sister had a different stylist, i dont know her name but she was a pretty blond. My sis was getting a deep conditioning treatment. Her stylist was very nice and professional and i when her appointment was done i heard my sister exclaim «wow!»
I highly recommend this place. Even the front desk girl was friendly and professional; everyone there was great. Great way to start the day :)

First of all, I want to give FIVE STARS to Nicole, who is one of their massage therapists. I’ve probably had about 8 people massage me and she is the best. You can tell she is really committed to working/​soothing the muscles and attends to even the smallest of muscle groups. She is very professional, and I love the massage room — it really does feel like a resort spa. Beautiful tile work and décor, pre-​warmed massage table, sink, shower, robe. It’s great. The one criticism I will say is that it’s unfortunate the spa section is so close to the nail section/​employee area. Though they play soothing music in the massage room, you can still hear people talking and that kind of takes some of the relaxation out of it.
I want to give TWO STARS to the nail tech I had. I cannot remember her name — she had curly blond hair. I got both a mani and a pedi and they HURT. Especially on my pedicure she was very aggressive with buffing and filing and it was killing the delicate cuticle area around my toes. During the manicure, she was TEXTING the entire time and kept starting and stopping on my nails to send and read texts. I couldn’t even have a conversation with her because whenever I would be saying something, she’d get on her phone. The mani took twice as long as it should have.
Someone earlier on here did make a comment about management and I would have to agree. I didn’t see any managers and I think there should be someone who oversees the floor. I cannot imagine texting would be allowed while working on a client.
Overall it’s 4 stars because I do think it’s nice in there, and I like their «kid free» policy. Also, as mentioned, Nicole is phenomenal.

Quality service, but you could get the same work done somewhere much cheaper. Besides the price, no complaints! Friendly staff and easy to get an appointment.

This is my favorite hair salon. I am definitely a loyal customer. My hair dresser, Maria is the best hair dresser I’ve had. She listens to what I want and takes the extra step to get it. I trust her completely. The staff is so friendly and welcoming every time I go in. I’d recommend this salon and Maria to anyone :)

I got the worst hair cut of my life. Maria gave me 3 different screwed up layers. plus the whole right side was about 1 inch shorter then the rest. I will never go back to Norterra Salon and I told all my family and friends never to go there again. thank you

I’ve been going here for about 4 years now and I see the salon improving a lot. Just recently they did something that makes me so happy.
They put in new pedicure chairs with bowls with removable liners! This means you have much less risk of catching something from other people who’ve been in that chair — i.e. nail fungus. Over the years I’ve caught stuff from the regular type of bowl most salons use. They say they clean it, but I know they can’t and don’t clean it well enough to get to bacteria hidden inside the jets. So these new chairs are amazing and show the owner Kevin has made a commitment to having a progressive salon.
My person there for nails is Bea and she is great. She accommodates special needs you may have and she remembers them when you come back. This makes me feel good. She remembers I like the lotion with no scent and only like the orange sea salt scrub fragrance wise. I appreciate this level of service.
The prices here are pretty much on par with most other salons. Maybe a bit higher, but for the new chairs, it is ok with me. The salon overall is very nice. Pretty chandeliers, clean and neat and in the awesome Norterra marketplace.
You should give this salon a try.

Tonight I went here for the 1^st time. I just moved here from Texas & was in search of a great Nail Salon. I have been to 3 others prior to visiting this Salon & Spa. Kasia did my gel nails & pedicure! I booked her based on other Unilocal reviews & I have to thank those Unilocal reviews — - they were right on with the service & quality of work Kasia provides! I am sooooo happy I found my new nail salon here in AZ!!!
They have an amazing massage & facial special for Fall going on right now & I have already pre-​booked my best friend from Dallas coming in next week for her & I to take advantage of this special too! Can’t wait & will leave a review after that appointment.

I’ve only been here for pedicures and brow waxing, but many times for those. I’ve gotten really wonderful service and really great results. They’re prompt with their appointments and efficient with their services. The girls I’ve worked with are really nice.
My feet felt great, my toe nails looked excellent (they do a great job with flowers on the big toes), and they lasted for ages.
They also do a really great job on brows — really nice shaping, perfectly even on both sides (even if you’re not quite even on your own) and that, too, lasts for ages.
The only even remotely negative thing I can say is that their massage chairs are just ok and the foot and calf massage is not overly intense (if you’re bringing your husband and the intense massage/​chair is a big deal to him, this might not be the best place).
If I lived closer, I’d still be going regularly.
