Specialties

All of our food is made from scratch, with local ingredients whenever possible. We are know for our Caramelized Banana Pecan French Toast, Outstanding Chicken Fried Steak, and the best Chilaquiles outside of Mexico! We serve Hickman eggs, which were not involved in the recent salmonella scare.

History

Established in 2007.

Brad and Chef Aaron May, Father and Son partners saw a need for a good, home style non-​chain breakfast spot. Using fresh local ingredients, making everything from scratch and giving it that Over Easy twist, the restaurant thrived from the start. After appearing on the Food Network’s «Diners, Drive-​ins and Dives» Over Easy has been a very popular breakfast spot every day of the week. In September or October of 2010 Over Easy will appear on he Food Network’s «The Best Thing I Ever Ate».

First, I was sick all day after eating breakfast here. The coffee was worse than AZ dirt.
My chicken fried steak was a joke, more like fried Oscar Mayer thin cut mystery meat… YUCK!
The hostess girl was more interested in her drink and cell phone than a smile. So forget about this joint.

I had high expectations for a DDD place. My wife got an omelette and tater tots that were really good! I got blueberry pancakes and half order of pumpkin French toast. It was not very good
The coffee was good and the service was fine! Would not go out of our way to return

Was really looking forward to trying a new breakfast place. Very disappointed. I ordered the 2 eggs breakfast with sourdough toast and bacon well done. Everything came to the table cold. The bacon was undercooked and limp. The toast did not taste like sourdough and looked like it had been put in a sandwich press instead of a toaster, plus it was cold and unbuttered and the butter served was cold so it just sat there on the toast and the jam was runny. The hash browns were tasteless. The service was just ok but the ambience was way too noisy. Will not go here again.

This is a good little breakfast spot. I had the migas, which were not like any other migas I’ve ever had; the best way to describe them is breakfast chicken nachos. I also had a side of corned beef hash; it was exactly what I expected and very tasty. The service was fantastic.

Solid to very good breakfast spot. Have been a couple times and everything has been quality. The signature «Over Easy» egg dish is outstanding.
I drive by an IHOP on the way here, and there’s almost always people waiting there at good times. Waiting to pay the same (or more) to eat premix boxed eggs and pancakes vs a real made from scratch location like this? You crazy.
Skip the chains, a better breakfast awaits.

Our first time here and service was horrible. Only two servers for the entire restaurant and it was very busy. When we finally received it, the food was good, but my friend’s eggs were lukewarm at best. Coffee was never refilled, cream was never brought, and had to ask for water twice before it was refilled. Probably won’t come here again. Waiting to see how long it will take to get our check.

Came in at 930 – 10 am on Wednesday and it was pretty full. We found a table and the busser immediately got us water. It took a bit for a server to get to us but we were fine and in no hurry. Mom had the eggs benedict florentine and I tasted the hollandaise which was awesome. Our other friend had the pumpkin brulee french toast (brioche, I believe) and it came with a caramel bourbon sauce which she loved! She also had the over eady iced coffee and raved about that as well. I had the chicken and waffles. It was a nice crispy breast (boneless) and a decent sized waffle. Not anything fancy but delicious. Server was very sweet and on top of things. Overall, we enjoyed it and I’d like to try more things on that menu!

It’s a shame this place still operates on the original owners. I’ve tried this place twice. The food is just not good. Benedicts ordered– english muffin was not toasted — eggs were overcooked-​hollandaise was tasteless. Home fries — a platter of under-​cooked amidst over cooked with no real seasoning. Server was nice but food came out cold and later than normal.
We really wanted to like this place as it’s on out bike route. Oh well– back to the drawing board.

Usually when I walk past this place its packed. I stopped in toward end of closing and it was dead. Very fortunate for me because I was in a rush. The server I think I overheard her say her name is Amy was very sweet. I got the basic 2 eggs. Its hard to mess that up so it was good. I felt like the menu was very basic, nothing stood out to me as a must try.

So my wife and I came here after a fun weekend of letting loose in Scottsdale. We decided on this rest because of the exposure it got from Guy the host of tripleD. Well, we arrive and it’s packed, 15 minute wait. Good sign right? Well no. It was a bad exp. it took them 15 minutes to get us water and coffee. It took 30 minutes to get our food and 20 minutes to get toast which I ordered in my first order. My wife said her fork and food smelled like a sneeze and the guy sitting next to us sent his food back. He had the hash. I had the country fried steak and it was bland. No salt or nothing. My wife had the omelette and she said it tasted like fake fluffy school cafeteria egg. And it had an M&m in it. A blue one! Wtf. Yea we won’t be going back. Oh yea and they charge for refills.

Some minor remodeling… and the place is great! The echoing sound problem is gone… and the place feels so open and homey. Service was stellar and friendly… the coffee and food was delicious. We split a burrito and yummy blueberry pancakes. Fantastic!

Pitiful, slow and they really need a name change. Shitty over cooked eggs. See pic. When letting waitress know that the second set of over medium were over cooked as well, she advised me that «from restaurant to restaurant have different definitions of over medium» WHAT??? To boot all this on a Monday morning with fewer than 10 people in there when our order was taken. Food took almost 30 minutes.

I used to be a real fan of Over Easy, I used to eat at their first location. Boy how things have changed.
I ate here in July 2015. First, they removed some of the best items from their menu, like the Loco Moco. The manager told me «we don’t want to carry inventory» probably due to their ‘we will rule the world’ expansion plans. The breakfast sausage links were awful. Must have been from the supermarket Coffee was bland. They sold my spouse on the iced coffee but we both agreed it was nothing special.
Sorry Over Easy, I would rather eat at Harlow’s or Matt’s or Snooze.

OMG this was good. I had ½ order of pumpkin french toast and a waffle dog. Which is a pancake on a stick like we used to get at summer camp only really good.
My server Cassie was super nice and friendly even got me a cup of coffee to go. The manager Seemed very nice as well.
I wish it was closer to me because I would come here often.

Eggs and wild mushrooms-​if you like mushrooms this dish is for you! Its a beautiful forge of mushrooms of many kinds on top of spinach and eggs I added garlic to my dish. Would definitely get again.
Daughter-​pancake breakfast she ate it all up and I had a bite it was great.
Great coffee, good juice, and awesome menu.
