Phoenix National Veterans Day Run

— On Nov. 11^th, 2012, I ran The 2^nd annual Phoenix National Veterans Day Run. Originally this race was supposed to be held downtown Phoenix but later moved to Paseo Park located off of 59^th Ave and Thunderbird. I didn’t really mind the change of venue since this was the same location as last year’s race. The packet pick-​up was to be held from on Friday from Noon to 6pm but Staff was late arriving into Phoenix so an email went out a bit late. I arrived at the store for packet pick up and was told that it had been pushed back a few hours… not cool!
I decided to just pick up my packet before the race. I’m not shure what the problem was but many were not on the list and couldn’t actually sign in. I’m happy I had no problems. Volunteers were great and there were plenty of water stations. I don’t recall running along the canal off the park last year so wasn’t expecting any trail running. Since this was one of the races I did in 2011 during my first year of running events, I’m certain I’ll keep this race as a yearly tradition. It was also nice to see many Veterans take part and thank them for their service. Count me in for next year’s year. Cheers!
