HOMELESS EMERGENCY SERVICES: Phoenix Rescue Mission is open 365 days a year, serving three meals a day to men, women and children. In addition, showers, clean clothing and counseling are available to anyone in need. Emergency shelter beds are available for up to 150 men every night.
ADDICTION RECOVERY PROGRAM: The program provides a structured environment helping individuals change their lives by dealing with their addictions and improving their educational skills. The current recovery program is equipped for 21 men.
FAMILY & COMMUNITY OUTREACH: The Mission assists families and individuals throughout the community with basic needs every week. Food boxes, clothing, and disposable diapers are among the items given away to the poor. Ministry to working poor families also includes annual outreach events for Easter, Back to School, Thanksgiving and Christmas program. Outreach continues with the Hope Coach, taking food and water to homeless people in local area parks.
History
Established in 1952.
The Mission started by serving 50 meals a day with a Chapel service to the homeless. As needs changed, the Mission grew by adding shelter, addiction recovery programs and most recently food boxes and outreach to working poor families.
