Residences at 4225

During my tour of the apartment I specifically asked the leasing agent, Ariana, if I could put a pressure mounted dog door on my balcony. Her answer? ‘Of course! We are very dog-​friendly here’. That was a major requirement for me. Now 6 months after moving in, I get a call saying I am violating the terms of my lease by having the dog door. I read the lease line by line after getting the call, and I am not violating it in any way.
I contacted the property manager, Lorri, and her response was that I was violating the Pet Policy. When I clearly pointed out that she was mistaken, the lease doesn’t say anything about dog doors being prohibited, she took 3 days to respond and in her response she started saying that the door was violating a different section of the lease now. Clearly grasping at straws. She also didn’t address any of my own concerns. Not to mention all of our email correspondence has been littered with typos and grammatical errors on her end, only adding to the unprofessionalism she is exuding.
I’d be happy to remove my dog door when I am under a lease that specifically says I can not have it. Her answer? ‘The lease doesn’t say you can’t have the door, but it also doesn’t say that you can’. Okay. the lease also doesn’t say I can’t stay up past midnight, but it also doesn’t say that I can. How is that a valid response to any situation?
When I toured this complex back in June, the reviews on Unilocal and other rating sites were all 4 or higher. I see that I am not the only one management has upset in recent months. They need to evaluate what has changed or their claim of being ‘very, very popular’ isn’t going to stand true for long.

Security?
I have lived at this complex for the last four years. It’s had its up’s and downs. Although this complex is very nice. Unfortunately, its in a not in a safe nor great part of town. Recently, heading out for work, I was approached in the parking lot at 4:30Am by a male, soliciting for cash. Wearing dark clothing with a hoodie, This younger man approached me out of nowhere. He seemed frustrated and angry, when I said I had no cash. I was extremely frightened. I had no luck locating security as I drove around looking. I tried calling the number listed, but was routed to main operator.
This is truly scary! What if this was one of the many females residing in this complex. I am not assuming this guy had any other intentions other than seeking out cash, but in the world today the possibilities are too great.
Another concern I’ve had is with the dumpster divers. I have actually taken photos and shared with the office. I have even caught these divers collecting utility bills and personal information. I contacted the office immediately, but no warning was ever sent out. As of this past Tuesday, I have again spotted the same guy and even took a photo of him in action.
I have only seen the security guard a handful of times. I feel this complex is not properly guarded. Just because its says gated community doesn’t mean anything. People from the outside area are intruding, cutting across the complex from one side to the other. This needs to be address!
If you reside here, I would suggest being very vigilant.

What have you become! So much crime in our community! Gates have been broken for over two weeks neighbors have rotten pumpkins on their balcony and cars get broken into all the time. Nice units too bad management doesn’t know how to manage this property. Goodbye guys and good luck

This administration and property management is one of the worst I’ve come across.
I recently moved in, and each issue or request I’ve made has been treated as if it’s never happened before, and they are unprepared and unwilling to assist. The standard answer is, «Can’t you do it yourself?»
The application process charged a few hundred dollars in non-​refundable «administration» fees. Which is common for the area, sure. Working in leasing/​property management myself, I know that oftentimes these fees are put toward rent or the security deposit. But here, they just disappear into the «administrative fee» bucket. Meaning you’re giving them money for no discernible reason (and I actually asked). That stands to reason that the «administration» should then perform some valuable task. And so far, they have not. The property manager themselves has done nothing in the way of handling my issues, instead turning them back upon me and instituting a policy of, «If we handle it, we have to charge you.» I’m not asking to move mountains, but you wouldn’t know that judging by the response I’ve gotten.
The leasing process was haphazardly handled in an unprofessional manner — promises to «get back to me» via email were not. I had to push and prod the whole way, and any accommodation or request I had was ignored or given a courtesy «We’ll see» without any actual follow-​through.
I’ve raised this review a star for the maintenance staff, who actually do a decent and quick job with fixing requests… when those requests are actually presented to them by the office staff.
Overall, they could do a better job. That’s what it boils down to.

If you want to live here, make sure your neighbors aren’t jerks. They will make false accusations and make living here a painful experience. The walls are really thin too. My dog moves around in her crate at night so it makes noises but it’s not loud to the point where I can’t sleep. Per the complaint for noise violation, I was slamming doors really loudly. Management doesn’t really do much except file a complaint without confirming anything. I got a complaint saying someone witnessed me letting my dog defecate under the stairwell when I did not. The dog pile was really small — I have a German Shepard and she could probably poop the size of the thing that did it. I understand management can only base complaints off of hearsay but common sense should be used. Next thing i know I’m gonna be accused of stealing things or keying cars. I’m utterly disappointed. Please change your policies around resident complaints. Otherwise, it’s pretty okay.

Current resident here
You know those pastil key cards that cost $ 2 to make? Yeah, they only give you one, and if you lose it they charge you $ 51 for it. Also, you know those gate openers that cost $ 4 to make? Yeah, another $ 50 if you lose it. The trend here is they offer you affordable rent, but chop you at the knees with hidden costs. Those are just two examples that come to mind! I recommend you sign with a place that isn’t trying to turn a profit with key card and remote replacements. Also, the lady who informed me of this couldn’t offer an explanation other than repeating «yeah we charge $ 51».
Greystar property management, you are better than this. Change your policy.

Terrible! Terrible! Terrible service!
We just finished our lease and wanna take a look at 4225, I found it online and it looks pretty nice from the photos… However. I forgot that photos can lie!
Today we drove 30 mins here at 5:30pm, 30 mins before its closed. We walked into the office and there was only one guy sitting there and playing his cellphone. We talked a few mins and I believe he’s the worst guy I’ve ever met in any leasing office anywhere. It seems he couldn’t care less about your business… After asking me some rude questions he show me around but I was totally not in mood after our conversation. When I’m in the sample room, he was standing there and playing cellphone, without any introduction… When I tried to ask him some questions about the community such as the parking spot, gym, etc, he gave me extremely brief answer no more than 1 word, like: Yep. No… I ended up telling him: you are so unprofessional, I can’t believe you worked here for 3 years… And also, I believe that bad service must be a nightmare to the current residents living there!!!

Lived here for 5 months now and have had NO problems here. The staff is super friendly and I feel like they’d readily solve any problems I may possibly have in the future. Even before I moved here, they were very helpful!
My neighbors are pretty nice as well. The people above me are kinda loud but that’s kinda how it is anywhere you go. Haven’t had any problems with any of my neighbors, but I could just be lucky, haha!
Any little issues I had with my apartment have all been solved within 72 hours.
Love this place so much! They have cute little community events like pool parties and they leave you cute little notes and stuff during holidays. It is run by a family and it definitely feels like it. :)
I’m late-​night swimmer and the pool is open 24 hours, so if I feel like going for a late night dip I have it available to me!
Haven’t had any issues with parking. I don’t even need to use my reserved one! Just very satisfied in general. I really like how my apartment looks. The kitchen is adorable.

I very much enjoy the property. It’s an awesome area. Very close to the freeway, close to downtown, old town and Arcadia. There’s a Target, Costco, Frys and Ross nearby.
I moved in here in Jan of this year and really like it. The grounds are kept very nicely. My area is nice and clean and so is the entire property and there’s a very nice dog park that is kept clean!
I love it here bc everyone is nice and the office is very helpful. Whenever I put in for a maintenance problem, it’s fixed quickly! Parking is great. The pool looks nice, I just haven’t been. It’s a very nice area and I enjoy it here. I’ll be here for a lot longer.

Just a quick update. A year after moving out I had a PayPal package delivered to my old address, and not only were the staff able to trace it and contact the resident to get it back, they stuck it next day mail for me at no cost. Truly above and beyond customer service even after I left.
Again take note this place is awesome.
