It’s hard to find warm hearted kind people now a days. Owning a Bmw as most individuals know is very expensive. I just replaced my battery and it needed to be registered to the car. A simple process that most dealerships would charge an hour or two of labor on. This process only takes a few minutes time. I called Ray and he said he could fit me right away. I drove to his shop and he quickly brought his high tech computer scan tool out and coded my battery for me in minutes. I was on my way in a very short time. Before choosing him I called a few other shops for pricing and they all seemed to be about the same. Once the job was done, the bill was way less than quoted! He said remember me in the future and have a great day. Well, I hope everyone reads this review and gives him a shot with their Bmw. I’ll definitely be back. Ray was very nice and friendly. Not to mention his shop was spotless and very organized.

My experience was mixed, falling short where it matters most to me: quality of workmanship. First off, upon meeting the owner, Ray, I was really impressed. Super nice guy and seemed very knowledgeable about these persnickety cars. So I left him my late model BMW sedan for an air-​conditioning issue, which I feared was a leaky evaporator. Thankfully it wasn’t and they accurately diagnosed the issue as an easily-​accessible, broken AC compressor wire under the hood. For a very fair price, his mechanic fixed that wire and another broken wire they discovered near the gas tank. Everything worked great when I picked it up. I did a quick inspection under the hood before leaving, and noticed that the «fixed» wire was not routed the same way it was before — it was now hanging over (but not touching) the exhaust manifold, which gets VERY hot. The mechanic said he would have placed conduit around the wire to protect it, but that he had «run out.» Well, OK. Not a big deal, I told him, I have some in my garage at home and would take care of that. Upon opening the hood the next day after a short drive, the electrical tape he had used to wrap the repaired wire was gooey from the heat and, worse, it was now touching the manifold, causing a wee bit of smoke to rise. Upon closer examination, I realized the mechanic had misrouted the wire entirely, removing it from the wire harness brackets on the engine block and AC compressor that are there to keep it away from the exhaust manifold. Did I mention that these exhaust manifolds get VERY hot? Had I not «repaired the repair,» the electrical tape and wire insulation would certainly have continued to melt, leaving exposed wire touching the metal manifold. Not good. Of course, after fixing this problem, I immediately went to the back of the car to look at that repair and found the repaired section of wire hanging below the rear bumper cover. Unfortunately, it too had not been placed back into the correct wire harness. Again, had to «repair the repair.» Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop. BTW, I left a VM message with the owner to tell him what happened and never received an apology or call back.

I can’t say enough good things about Scott’s BMW. They have nursed my 2001 X5 from the time it went out of warranty until its current 225,000 miles and it is still going strong. The owner, Ray, is professional, responsive and never pushes repair work on you. Jeff, the head mechanic, is a genius. Work has always been done correctly and timely. As my car passes through a quarter million miles, I have no doubt that Jeff can keep it going to a half million.

06-​16-​2015 I can not RAVE enough about Ray and Scott’s Motor Werks ! Ray just gave me a wonderful surprise today when I took my BMW in for a routine oil change, just for being a good customer my service was FREE! now that’s what I call customer service. I would recommend this shop highly. Its so nice to see old fashion values and most excellent service. Ray ALWAYS goes the extra mile for me and I so appreciate it. He never tells me i need repairs that i don’t need. I have the utmost faith and trust in this shop.

Amazing service. Ray is the only mechanic I’ve worked with that took the time to be kind, considerate, and friendly. Got my car right in for a fix (window regulator for 2004×5) and done right away. $ 100 less than my last mechanic quoted. I will be using Ray for all of my BMW service! Thanks Ray!

My engine is running perfectly after my last visit.
Today needed an alternator. The last mechanic shop I had this great was the one I left in Minnesota during 1993. By that I mean: competent, honest, reliable, and respectful. I kid you not!
Ray is personable, answers the phone, returns calls, and is a delight to know! The entire environment is spotless! Prices are so fair you could have knocked me over with a straw on each visit. My beloved buggy is again purring like a kitten and I am thrilled and grateful to have found this shop!

Unfortunately, my BMW broke down on me while driving from Phoenix, AZ to Steamboat Springs… in Grand Junction, CO… last weekend on a Friday night at 10:00 PM! Lousy timing. Every warning and indicator light was going off, and I’m sitting there with a car that is loaded with ski gear, baggage and my two boys. What to do? There didn’t appear to be a lot of European auto mechanic talent available in GJ, much less a BMW dealer. So, I called Ray. Believe it or not, he called me back within 10 minutes (at 10:00 on a Friday night!!!), and walked through an over-​the-​phone diagnosis to conclude that my alternator had failed. It was clear that the car wasn’t going to continue on with us on that trip, so he pulled out his computer and found me a mechanic from a network list of reputable and certified shops. Over the course of the next five days, he was also willing to take my calls and validate what the Grand Junction mechanic was telling me and give me a comparative cost estimate so that I could feel comfortable that I wasn’t being taken for a ride.
Once again, Ray demonstrates customer service that is above and beyond what anyone might otherwise reasonably expect. Thanks again Ray!

Place is dirty and prices are high. I won’t be back

There is no better BMW service in town. When it comes to BMW, Ray and his staff of mechanics know exactly what is needed for your car. I have a 300 and a 500 and I quit going to the BMW dealerships a long time ago. The service at Scott’s Motor Werks is always efficient and timely and your BMW will be on the road in no time at all. I have been taking my cars to Scott’s Motor Werks for years. Ray, the owner, is always there to answer your questions and explain his findings. You can go in and leave your BMW with confidence that only the work you need will be performed with no up sell on any unwarranted work. Let’s not forget how reasonable his prices are. I highly recommend this shop and the staff. Thank you for all the help and great work.

Very happy with the work Ray and his team has done on my ’07 BMW 328i. With over 116K miles on my car it’s good to have a shop I am comfortable with. My car and I like Scott’s Motor Werks.

I’ve been servicing my 2004 BMW 325i with Ray for the last 7 years after I found out there was more out there than a dealership to rely on. Its a win win with Ray.
Cars do break down and cars do need repairs. My last repairs over the last 3 – 4 years.
Rear drive shaft, belts, pulley wheels and expansion tank (broke on me while driving to work), radiator replaced, power steering pump, head gasket, both control arm bushings, both front upper mount struts. Yeah I saved money and my car still runs like she has 2,000 mile on her brand new. Now going on 160,000 miles. I trust Ray because he has a staff that knows the year make and model and what to look for.
1 year warranty on the work performed. I had my head gasket replaced 12 days left on the warranty. Bottom line my car still moves and handles top notch.

Ray is the most friendly and trustworthy and knowledgable BMW manager/​owner hands down. Just call him up and ask him anything (and I do mean ANYTHING) about an e46 and he will tell you what the problem is and what it would cost. Can’t get that at a dealer or a neighborhood repair shop. I would trust Ray with anything.

My friend has a BMW and had engine issues while we were in Phoenix this weekend. She checked around, figured out the problem from her mechanic in LA and then purchased parts here. She was directed to Scott’s Auto Werks through a referral from a friend. With the good Unilocal rating, she felt comfortable bringing her baby here.
Ray, the manager, was very accommodating and friendly. He was happy to get to work on her car immediately and use the parts she had purchased. One hour later, we were ready to go! Ray put a new spark plug in, just in case, and gave her the 5% discount offered on the check in deal.
Overall, we were both happy with the service but my friend did say that Ray should have given us a verbal estimate of the cost of the service prior to performing the repair. I’m sure this was just an oversight. I would recommend this mechanic to BMW owners.

Scott and his crew have been done a great job with my ’97 Z3 for the five years I’ve had it. I would say that he is very conservative and only recommends service that is needed. I had to talk him into a brake job that he said I didn’t need.

Fair, honest, and practical. They’ve been taking care of my BMW for years and have never let me down. As a single woman, it’s especially important to me to have someone I can trust. They’re far from my home so I’ve tried taking my car somewhere else a couple of times and wind up coming back to Scott. It’s worth the trip.

I have been bringing my multiple Bimmers here for over a decade. Scott doesn’t want to be your friend, he just wants to fix your car. I had an experience a few years back where my car literally wouldn’t run. I thought I was in for a very expensive fix. Turns out the vacuum hose separated itself from the manifold. I simply need a clip replaced. My total bill was under $ 25. If they were a dishonest shop, this would have been the perfect time to take advantage of a customer. Half the time he tells me what my car needs, but suggests I don’t do it for another 6 or 9 months. I believe honesty comes first with Scott. In this day, what is that worth?

I have been taking my BMW here for years. It is your basic, no frills repair shop. I think they are fair and honest. I have always been happy with the work.
