3yrs for our case to go before a judge, Lake drops us as clients 3 days before the hearing. Once the judge heard about this we learned that she had a reputation of poor performance, tardiness and a tendency to drop a client if she had even glimmer of a suspicion that she might have to do some work to win a case.
Do not do business with this poor excuse for an attorney.

My instincts should have told me to find another attorney when she refused to shake my hand (germophobe). What kind of attorney refuses to shake his/​her client’s hand? The woman is obviously in need of psychotherapy. And she lost my case, which was a good one. I cannot recommend.

Unprofessional and condescending. She is incredibly incompetent and rude. I recently found out that I lost my disability case after going to a hearing with this lawyer. She was seventeen minutes late to the hearing itself, while I sat there for over forty-​five minutes waiting for her. The hearing was via satellite (the judge was in Phoenix, while Stephanie Lake and myself were in Flagstaff). Once the hearing was over, Stephanie took me to the side and told me that the case wasn’t looking good and basically blamed everything on me, stating that I shouldn’t have said certain things to the judge (was she wanting me to lie?). I told the judge that I spend the majority of my time on the computer at home, and Stephanie said THAT hurt my case. She wanted me to come off as an unintelligent idiot to the judge, which was NOT going to happen because it simply is not true.
While she was talking to me after the hearing and I told her I was unaware of the fact that telling the judge I spend time on the computer was going to hurt my case, she responded with (and I quote) «oh, hell yeah!» Very irritating and unprofessional. As I said, she was also extremely condescending and patronizing. She said «you clearly didn’t read ANY of the letters I sent you!», which was not true at all. She claimed to have sent me certain letters, which she did not. When I went home the day of the hearing, I literally searched through EVERYTHING she sent me and never found anything that she was claiming to have sent me. She is a liar and treats her clients like they are stupid. She was very arrogant and never apologized for being late to the hearing in the first place. I would never recommend this attorney to anybody. Please find someone else that is competent and actually knows how to do their job correctly. This woman is awful.
