Wow I haven’t gotten customer service like this place in a long time!!! They went above and beyond! I dropped off a pair of snow pants and they said they would have them ready within an hour. I went to run an errand in the mean time. On my way back got in a car accident and it was their closing time. I called to let them know not to wait if they could please leave it outside. The lady didn’t want to leave it unattended. I needed it that night as I was flying out on my trip early the next morning before they opened.
So she kindly offered to drop them of to me!!! They dropped them off at my location where I was waiting for the car to be towed and police was writing report etc.
They even refused to accept a tip! I tried giving it to him, I insisted and he just ran off saying no no no it’s ok!!! Wow I’m so impressed.
Now as for the alteration, it was perfect! They are expensive specialty snow pants, they were a bit complicated and they were able to sow them perfectly!

I’ve been here 3 – 4 times to have pants shortened or sweats cut into shorts and the work is always amazing. Quick turn around, friendly staff, this place is exactly what you want from a tailor. I’m thinking of buying a suit for special occasions and it will definitely be from these guys.

Quite often I’m asked «Brad, how do you always look so good and appear so well put together?» Once we get past the basics of good breeding, charisma, and manners, we generally get to the point that having well-​fitting clothing can make anyone look better. That’s why I always encourage people to find the best alterations tailor in your area. Good tailoring can make a cheap $ 500 suit look better than a poorly fitting $ 5,000 suit, and if you know your basic sizes you can find high quality items online or in resale shops and have them altered so they look like they were cut just for you.
Every time I’ve come in here I’ve been treated very well. They measure my clothing they way I want it and they complete the work very quickly, generally within a week or so. In fact I even took my oldest son in last year and even though he’s tall and skinny they were able to alter his blue blazer and gray slacks so that he looked great and wasn’t swimming in it when he went to Junior Assembly.

Dennis is awesome! I took a suit in last week to be tailored and he seemed to know exactly what I wanted. He’s very knowledgeable and takes the time to clearly explain the different approaches he can take with the alterations to make sure it fits my needs. Although the store seemed to be very busy, he didn’t rush me and made sure I was satisfied with the planned alterations. The staff is friendly and many of the customers that day seemed like regulars, which says a lot about the quality of work they do there. I will definitely come back again to get work done. I highly recommend this place!

I have been trying to find a good place to have my alterations done in my neighborhood and stumbled upon The Fit. I have taken a few things in and Dennis and his team do such a great job in a timely manner. I recently found myself in a desperate situation where I needed a coat fixed for a work trip. Dennis took great care & was able to get it done in time for my trip. I highly recommend The Fit!

I moved here from LA many years ago. I love to go vintage shopping and shopping in general and over the years have purchased some beautiful pieces of clothing. When things didn’t fit right, the clothes would just stay in my closet, as I never entrusted them with anyone to alter. That’s why, I am so happy that I found The Fit and meet Dennis. Dennis is awesome. He is meticulous and will take the extra time and effort to make sure that everything fits perfectly. The staff is also great, very sweet and professional.

Wonderful customer service and insanely fast turn around times. I don’t have any other local alteration places to compare the pricing to, but I don’t really want to take my clothes anywhere else to find out!

Dennis’ ‘The Fit’ Alterations on 7^th Street is the only place I bring my alterations for the personal service and excellent work. I have a small business that requires me to do a fair volume of alterations work and Dennis always takes care of me. The Fit is fantastic at alterations! I had purchased a suit about 3 years ago and had recently lost weight so the suit was huge on me, top to bottom.
I took to The Fit and they made my oversized suit look beyond excellent and for a reasonable price! After taking in the leg width of extra loose fabric around my thighs and calves, the break on the pant is now perfect. Same with the jacket sleeve fabric. By bringing in the sleeve fabric, the cuff break is now perfect for me as well. Lastly, they took in the waist-​line on both the pant and jacket and it’s right on target. I felt like a million dollars when I tried it on again in the shop.
Beyond the excellent results from alterations and tailoring, the owner Dennis has the biggest and most friendly personality and knows how to treat customers right. As soon as I need something altered again, I’m taking it to them. They did it right the first time and helped me feel great about bring business to them. Thank you again for a great job!

I had never had alterations before so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this place was awesome! I took them the dress I needed altered just 2 days before New Years and it only cost $ 10 extra for fast turnaround! Everyone there was super nice as well!
They took my dress in at the waist for me and it couldn’t have fit better!
I gave ⁴⁄₅ stars due to the fact that I’ve only had one thing altered by them, but I will definitely go back though if the need arises!

I found this shop on Unilocal — Thank you, Unilocalers! For the four and a half star review, I already 110% trusted them with my alterations. Yea, I am that naïve! Anyway, I took two dresses over — one a bridesmaid dress that was two sizes too big and a black tight dress that I accidentally cut with my scissors. I didn’t know if the dress can be saved, but I took it to this place anyway.
I tried on both dresses and was told that it would take approximately 4 days to fix. The price to fix both dresses were a little pricey, but I opted to pay anyway. In my eyes, you get what you pay for — and in this case, I am paying for «perfection».
I strolled in yesterday to pick up the dresses and there was the owner sweet and happy as the last time I saw him. He remembered my name and already had my dresses in his hand asking me if I want to try it on. I first tried on the dress that was two sizes too big, it seemed tight at first. I was thinkig, «Oh my! If I zip this up anymore, I am gonna break this zipper!» I had one of the workers help me zip up my dress and when I looked at myself in the mirror, it was perfect! Everything I asked him to do with the dress was EXACTLY what he did! I then tried on the black dress and that too was perfect.
Now, here’s the hard part– I now have two dresses that fit me perfectly! That means I can’t gain any more weight. So here’s the problem: Christmas is a few days away and I’ve already eaten a brownie, fries, cookies, and a pecan log in the past hour. Hopefully I still fit in my «perfect» dresses on the day I need to wear them. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be so perfect anymore. haha

Ann Taylor continues to make 00Petite suits too big for me, so I continue to come here and have Dennis make sure that I look sharp and cool in the office. And my review remains the same — I continue to be a very satisfied customer yayyy (round of applause, please!)
But I’m still trying to get used to the new location… kind of missing the old location a bit LOL I got attached.
The new place is bigger, brighter, fresher — a testament that Fit Alternations needs a bigger place to accommodate its growing customer base!
I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a professional and top notch tailor — whether you need something altered, or made from scratch!
No matter what type of cloth, beadwork, ruffles and schmuzzles, nothing intimidates this place at making alterations. And they do a darn good job at it!

Doesn’t get any better
Dennis and his team do a superb job. Prices are upfront. Dennis and his assistant are quick and easy to work with. Quality of the work is worlds above the alter-​by-​numbers people at most dry cleaners and at around malls. My suit alterations all fit perfectly.
Only drawback are the occasional customers who drive up in their luxury cars, try to cut in line, tell the staff to give them better prices, and then generally huff around the place. Wish there were more gracious people in the world. Credit to Dennis and crew for having the patience to tolerate people like that.
Dennis said they will be moving this summer, so will need to keep an eye on where they land.
