History
Established in 2006.
Initially launched to provide copy editing and proofreading, the original business name was to be The Grammar Nazis, a tribute to «The Soup Nazi» on «Seinfeld.» However, after consulting with a number of Jewish friends, owner Amanda Collins realized that name wasn’t the best fit. Instead, with the help of her husband, a nurse, Amanda named the company The Grammar Doctor.
Soon after opening, Amanda’s colleagues and friends encouraged her to include resume writing in the business’ portfolio, given that she had successfully been writing resumes since 1996 under the business name Career-Oriented Resumes. That move proved fruitful since the economy crashed shortly thereafter.
When a client asked Amanda to craft content and develop marketing strategy, she wondered why she hadn’t considered that initially, given her decade of experience in that realm. The business name was changed in 2008 to The Grammar Doctors, LLC to allow for growth of the team.
