Since 2000, Michelle «MJ» Johnson has practiced exclusively in the area of representing individuals and the families of those seriously injured or who lose a family member at the hands of someone else’s wrongdoing. She handles claims stemming from car collisions, defectively designed and manufactured products, rollover crashes, unfair treatment of customers in retail settings, and discriminatory practices of law enforcement. She successfully tried cases to verdict in both state and federal court, and settled multiple multi-​million dollar cases. Following her clerkship with the Arizona Court of Appeals, she has worked at the top plaintiff’s law firms in Phoenix and was named one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers on Arizona by The American Trial Lawyers Association in 2009.

After practicing law in the top firms in Phoenix, MJ started her own firm in June 2011.

Business Owner

Born and raised in Arizona, MJ obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Arizona and her law degree from Arizona State. She served as a law clerk at the Arizona Court of Appeals before dedicating her legal career to representing people who have been injured or killed by someone else’s wrongdoing.

MJ has been an active member of the community by serving on the boards for the American Association for Justice, the Arizona Association for Justice, the Arizona Center for Law in the Public Interest, the Black Bar Association, Community Legal Services, EPIK Dance Company.

MJ was a member of the Phoenix Mercury hip hop squad from 1997 – 2001 and still enjoys attending games.

MJ is licensed to practice law in Arizona, in Arizona federal District Court, and in the 9^th Circuit Court of Appeals.
