One thing that has always irritated me about people in any position of «authority» is when they make it a point to «throw their weight around» & somehow get to a place where their inflated ego causes them to believe that they cannot be replaced. Unfortunately this location suffers from this type of disease, as I learned early this morning. There was an «over-​the-​counter» healthcare item that I needed to purchase & I called in to confirm that it was in stock (nobody wants to drive all the way to a Walgreens at 4AM just to find out that the item they need is sold out). Once I confirmed that they had it in stock, I headed to this store. Upon my arrival, I went to the aisle that the item is normally stocked in & none were left. This was puzzling as I called in to the pharmacy beforehand & confirmed that it was in stock. At this point I went to the pharmacy & came upon a woman standing at the counter with this huge stack of papers in front of her. There was ONE guy working behind the counter (all by himself) & as I looked behind him I noticed an additional stock of the item I needed to purchase (which oddly had not been re-​stocked on the normal store shelves). Rather than be rude & interrupt the transaction, I decided to wait. Well one minute turned in to 5, 5 turned into 10 & in consideration of the neighborhood & the fact that there’s weird/​seedy people floating around outside at these hours, I didn’t want to be in there all day waiting for this woman to get done.
At this point, I went up front in hopes of asking the cashier to assist me in grabbing the «over-​the-​counter» item from behind the counter so that I can purchase it up front while the gentleman behind the pharmacy counter finished his transaction: Nobody was behind the front register once I got there & the guy who eventually walked back there looked nowhere close to being an employee judging by his wardrobe (I saw no name badge & no Walgreens apparel). He was just floating around the front part of the store, stopping to stand almost like the was lost in a daze… While I found this somewhat strange, I looked past it & asked if he could assist me in getting my OVER-​THE-​COUNTER item as I was on a tight schedule & the guy behind the pharmacy counter was tied up. He calls a «manager» over the speaker & a couple minutes later this «manager» walks up front. The employee tells him whats going on & the «manager» tells me that the guy behind the pharmacy counter can help me. I proceed to tell him that he’s helping another customer with a lengthy transaction & i’m on a tight schedule. He then stated that he couldn’t help me with anything behind the pharmacy (which I think was simply his way of saying that he just didn’t feel like walking back there)… I re-​advised him that the item in question was OVER THE COUNTER but they simply had the remaining stock behind the pharmacy counter (for whatever dumb reason) & the ONE guy working behind the pharmacy counter was in the middle of a lengthy transaction. The «manager» continued to be difficult, refusing to walk the few paces that would be required to get behind the pharmacy counter & grab this small little item that should have been re-​stocked on the NORMAL store shelves (had somebody actually been doing their job). It was almost as if he was Hell-​bent on being a complete d-​bag today. Rather than do what I wanted to do (aka– punch him in his mouth for being such a d-​bag), I said «ok», gave him that «I should really punch you in your mouth» look & walked back to the pharmacy counter only to see an empty register. 5 – 10 minutes later the gentleman behind the pharmacy counter re-​appears from somewhere in the back & I checked out. In the end, I came in an EMPTY store yet waited about 20 minutes just to get an OVER THE COUNTER ITEM that likely would have taken me less than TWO MINUTES to purchase had the store simply re-​stocked the item over the counter.
My question is this: How difficult would it be for you to walk your lazy self back behind the pharmacy counter (while your ONLY pharmacy employee is clearly tied up with another transaction) & grab an item in order to help a customer who has clearly stressed the fact that he is on a tight schedule? Doing so would be good customer service, any idiot knows that, & if your ego is that big where you are unwilling to go above & beyond for the customer then you don’t need to be in a «management» position because you’re definitely not made for it… Why am I so upset? The way I see it, i’m paying you to be an a-​hole & I have a SERIOUS problem with that, as should anyone who has been a customer at Walgreens for as long as I have (aka– all their life, ever since you were in diapers)… I don’t know his name & honestly don’t care what it is, but prayerfully they replace him because he’s obnoxious, he clearly knows nothing about good customer service & his unwillingness to assist the customer with something so basic makes a very poor reflection on the entire Walgreens brand.

Healthcare clinic organization is terrible. It’s been decent in the past, was terrible today. Appointments were full so I decided to just walk in. Only 1 care provider and 5 other people ahead of me. Almost 2 hours pass, so I buy a few items and take them out to my car. Come back in and find my name no longer on the wait list. I wait longer until the care provider comes out (apparently only one person to run an entire clinic back there). She tells me she called me then moved on and I’d have to go back to the end of the line which she estimates to be another 2 hours. Ridiculous. I understand she’s busy, but to bump me like that, not call me, and not give me priority like I’ve seen done there before is not cool. Probably just store policy, but I won’t go back. I went down the street to CVS, was seen in 5min (lucky it was slow), but diagnosed in 10min, and had my prescription in another 5min. And very friendly pretty nurse! The computer sign in there at least had the option of texting you when you are 30min away from your appointment. Ideal!

At least the pharmacy is open ²⁴⁄₇! I don’t know why the GOOD Walgreens on Central & Osborn isn’t 24÷7…
I just went to this Walgreens at 36^th St & Thomas & NOT impressed!
Pharmacist has a very strong accent & there was no speaker, so I could barely understand him through the box. He couldn’t find my info at first & kept asking if I used a different name, even though I told him no & had JUST filled at the Central & Osborn Walgreens LAST WEEK. He finally found me & then ended up only giving me 2 of my 3 prescriptions!
Will I go back to this location? Not unless it’s 3am & I can’t find another Walgreens! :-P

Theranos is hilarious. I am a national registered phlebotomist with 20 years experience, went for a job interview and they didn’t hire me. Lol. Very weird and secretive company.

Was here today to buy Advil for a throbbing headache… I think I got when I was at Walmart… In any event, this place was clean, the girl that said «Welcome to Walgreen’s» with a big smile on her face that rang up my only purchase, made my whole day… it was a bad day… I want to say her name as Gini… but it evades me at the moment. I joked with her that she should only have to say it to every third person that walks in, and she said it wouldn’t be fair if she said it to some people and not everyone… pretty valid point… she was my one ray of sunshine in what I can call a pretty bad day… everyone seemed helpful thou when I was there, my trip was pretty quick… and I was actually quite surprised at how organized this place was, it has been quite a while since I had been here. Definitely liked the changes.

We haf pretty Good service from everyone that works there .will be coming back for sure.

Do not order photos here. It’s my 3^rd time here tonight. 1^st time for pick up, photos for lost and I had to wait to have them reprinted. 2^nd time back was because they didn’t include the envelopes that were supposed to come with it. Now I’m here because I looked at the same photos I printed only 5 days ago and they were significantly brighter than the ones I took home today. Plus the ones I took home today had a blue crinkly film on them that looked like a paint sponge was lightly pressed on it. I asked for the manager on my 3^rd visit and he acted like I was a total waste of time. Glad to know the manager told the photo tech to give me reprints at no charge, although I would hope that would happen no matter what. I have not been rude, a little irritated I will admit (writing wedding thank you’s is night exactly a fun time). My advice, go to the Walgreens closer to Scottsdale on Thomas. Infinitely better and the clientele is cleaner. I would offer no stars is possible.

I have been waiting at the pharmacy for over 2 hours… First they said my prescription was at another Walgreens, then they needed to call my doctor, then was berated by a tech on a power trip exclaiming to the whole waiting room that I just have lost my medicine of its all gone because I’m not due for a refill yet? Um what? Wow didn’t know it was your job to put your customers on blast but if you must know, that’s why I brought a new prescription, thanks for the embarrassment. As I requested help from the pharmacist at this point, I get flat out ignored and then sent to the back I the line only come to find out no one has even been trying to resolve said issues for the past two hours. I Can’t get a straight answer from anyone, Walgreens you just lost a customer of 15+ years. Unbelievable!!!

The 24 hour pharmacy was a god-​send for my wife, who was training with an airline and needed two prescriptions filled… were transferred temporarily from our home. Convenience was great, and the folks were very helpful. Perfect.

Staff — friendly
Onsite urgent care — good.
prescription filling ability — awful. Don’t have a prescription filled here. They either 1) don’t receive it all or 2) get it wrong. Seriously. Don’t. It’s not worth the headaches.

This is my single favorite thing about Walgreens…

This review is specifically about the Take Care Clinic and its supposed services, which are pretty bad. Keep in mind that these clinics are healthcare facilities, not the food prep area of a KFC.
I noticed there was a lot of dust and grime on all the white surfaces. An employee was checking me in on a touchscreen. He was turning the screen and squinting and turning his head, but I realized when looking at it that the problem was it was covered with grime and fingerprints. There is a check-​in touchscreen available that I did not get near, as you understand, sick people and public touch screens and all — probably not the best idea.
I was there to have some labs drawn. It was my 2^nd visit. During the previous visit, even though I scheduled my appointment in advance online, they somehow either lost it or ignored it. When I had waited too long and asked what the deal was, an employee told me that the internet appointment service «isn’t supposed to be working yet.» So I had to reschedule.
These labs are done by Theranos. Theranos is supposed to be this new big deal in lab services, because they’re cheaper, you’re supposed to get your results sent to you directly, and they only need to draw a small amount of blood, just a fraction of a cc to do a dozen or more lab tests. None of this is true. (I tried to obtain information on Theranos before going to the Take Care Clinic, but (a) Walgreens employees knew nothing about it; (b) One person was able to scare up a single marketing pamphlet on the services — in Spanish. Calling Theranos was no more helpful.)
Prices were about the same as my insurance rates (but my insurance doesn’t contract with Theranos), they don’t send you your results (you have to get them from your doc), and they did my 3-​vial blood draw with standard venipuncture to the inside of my elbow. The phlebotomist was the only pleasant thing about my experience, as he was friendly, professional, and competent. His phlebotomy room also needed a wipe-​down.
The tests required a urine sample as well, so I was led to the other corner of the store with a bag with my equipment. The phlebotomist had to let me into the bathroom. There was nowhere to set down the urine gear. No table, bench. The narrow sides of the sink were dirty. The bathroom was pretty dirty with dirt on the sink and dried urine on the toilet. I did my best to avoid contaminating my specimen.
When returning to the phlebotomy room, I became a bit confused. There is this wall of frosted glass (see the pics at the top of these reviews). The phleb told me to return to his room, but which frosted wall was it located behind? I briefly searched for the right door, taking a right when I should have taken a left. At this junction I encountered an unpleasant nurse practitioner male who immediately ordered me, hall-​monitor-​style, to get in line like everybody else. For a moment I considered defending myself, then realized that responding to such rudeness was a waste of time.
Walgreens employs CSRs in India to handle your billing and other information. This means your sensitive medical, financial and insurance information is processed out of the country. I don’t see how Walgreens’ filthy stores, rude service and overseas subcontractors help the quality of healthcare in the U.S. I’d say that Take Care Clinics are a huge step backwards.

They are very good, except they take very long when the Dr sends an email for refills… my dad has epilepsy so he can’t go very long without his medication and it’s frustrating when we can’t get his medication on time.

Because this Walgreens is seriously amazing.
I made a pit stop after a long day at work for junk to make me feel better (you know exactly what I am talking about).
I found a modern out of this world revamped Walgreens worth a Unilocal review!
How did I not know of this location in the past I do not know. I am a rare Walgreenerite therefore that may explain why.
As of two weeks ago that all changed…
–The store is stocked with with everything you need in nice organized aisles, it’s nicer than Target!
–They have this little deli type thing going on and the food is the main reason I am writing this review. It is a Walgreens brand named Delish with REAL food. The selection is AMAZING which ranges from grape cups, hicama sticks, hummus rolls, sushi, chicken wraps (my fav!), salads, sandwiches, real fruit juices, designer cupcakes ect. Overall, this food is amazing and is gourmet! I am so shocked at the quality of this food (prepared by a person who is passionate about his/​her creations judging by the unique recipes.) I am hooked on the Southwest Chicken Wrap which brings two in a pack for only $ 3.99! The section has fresh non-​processed foods, so no more nasty fast food runs when time is tight. This may be the answer to America’s unhealthy eating problem! Lol.
–They have a little healthy snack section aswell with their brand Nice. From dried Wasabi Peas, hard boiled eggs (hey it’s better for you than a bag of Cheetos,) and Banana Chips (the list is endless… go see for yourself!) for $ 1.49!!! The same price as «horrible-​for-​you» chips!
Overall, I love this concept Walgreens is trying out! Gluten free, no artificial flavors, vegan ect… Now available at your local Walgreens. Skip the nasty McDonald’s chicken sandwich and make a just as easy choice.
Props to this Walgreens! I love ya! You are my new on the run/​cheap/​fast/​easy/​quick bite place. ;)
Support this movement please, real food over nasty fast food that is killing us. Food is meant to nourish us, not kill us. Plus, this food taste a million times better! I am literally drooling right now…

Do not go to the Take Care Health here… or probably any Walgreen’s. They are known to double bill and well despite knowing that I made the mistake of going there anyway. Sure enough I was billed/​paid there AND was sent a bill in the mail. I then had to take time to call their customer service center (in India) to make sure my account is in good standing.
Go to an urgent care instead. You’ll save money and the wait time is the same anyway.

Don’t expect to find anything you want to purchase with coupons here, there is a serious extreme couponer who hits this store and gets all the goods! Very irritating! Other than that, employees are very nice and the store is well kept.

You know I usually avoid thinking of writing a review on something like a drugstore. I figure; «feel bad plus long wait equals crabby Mary». Walgreens is Walgreens, right? However, I stopped at this location on the way home from the clinic not in my hood. I wish I lived closer and could make this my new Walgreens. The folks in the pharmacy were so extra nice to me. I am very grateful! Nice enough for me to give them a shout out on Unilocal.I really appreciated it. Also, they filled my script in ten minutes. WHAT??? lol! That is so awesome! When you don’t feel so great you don’t want to wait 40 plus minutes for a RX.
