White Dove Thrift Shoppe

This thrift store is amazing. The items in the store are very classy and the furniture is excellent. Additionally, the staff is very nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend checking them out, very high end items and the shop in the back has more every day items.

Actually, one CAN give a one-​star review to an organization «that does good work». I am a HUGE fan of HOV and support them in many ways. However, THIS thrift store is not their best representation. It smells, it looks dirty, it’s disorganized and the ladies working there are crabby, bordering on rude. There are many, many thrift stores in the Valley, supporting many worthy causes. Like it or not, they are ALL competing for the same customers & revenues. I am only writing this review in hopes that the folks who oversee this fund-​raising venue (White Dove) will take my comments to heart and make some improvements. Thrift stores, nowadays, are big moneymakers and let’s face it, most people shop at thrift stores not because they (the customers) are philanthropically-minded…but because they want good value & a good experience. You can do better, White Dove, especially with all the great donations you must get from kind folks. Meanwhile, thank you Hospice of the Valley for the amazing and compassionate work you do!

This is one of my favorite upscale thrifts in town. You never know what you might find and the little shop outback can also house some finds. Great sales and the staff is very helpful. Really worth your time and the prices are ah-​mazing!

I’m not sure how you could leave a 1-​star review for a store that donates the majority of its sales to Hospice. Hospice took great care of my mother in her final days. I recently moved into a house and was looking for some new furniture. White Dove has a great, ever changing selection (keep an eye out for discounts, too!) and the staff is very kind and helpful. If you’re thrifting on Melrose, be sure to check this place out and support a great cause while doing so.

Pretty good thrift store!
Thought the front building was well organized and neat.
The prices can get high for used goods, but they are quality.
I almost missed the back building with the discounted items. I spent most of time there trying on clothing and hunting for treasures. Prices are the best back there.
I found 2 pairs of jcrew pants for work and a pair of floral Calvin Klein skinny jeans. All $ 5 each.
I passed up a black mid century modern book shelf with gold detail for $ 12 and am still kicking myself.

I went to the location in Scottsdale off of McDonald and didn’t find anything worth buying. The prices are cheap but the quality of clothing is hit or miss. U may find something but I don’t think I’ll be in a hurry to go back there. Maybe I’ll try the other locations. Happy Hunting!!!

I like this store, I am not much of a thrift store person but I like the vintage stuff in this store, some stuff is overpriced, some is under. but I like it.

I have been here on a few occasions and I was pleased with the selection pricing and customer service, but sadly that seems to have gone away. Items were on par with Flo’s as another reviewer commented and for the selection I have been seeing, this does not quite match up. I was not greeted by the three ladies at the counter but was rather glared at, there was no hello or smiles, just a pack of elderly women standing in formation looking me right in the eye as I stroll in. Wow, welcoming right?
The more hidden gem seems to be in the warehouse where items are marked down significantly. There is less furniture in this area than in the store however. Televisions, clothing, and random items seem to be the majority in the warehouse.
There are some cool vintage finds to be found but after being treated like a leper and leaving aggravated I would rather stick to other mom and pop thrift stores and the better Goodwill locations in the valley. I don’t understand why they would act this way when you want to make visitors feel welcome so they can spend money for a worthy cause. I was completely turned off and I won’t be returning. This is not the only worthy cause in the world. 1 star for crappy service and visit the Goodwill on Pima in Scottsdale if you have the time and gas.

I love this place — I think everyone working there is super nice — they always remember me as the girl who was stalking the super cute white couch (posting picture) — which I totally had to buy after lusting over it for at least a month — :)

great place, prices and staff

Same as Flo’s, really overpriced and either over-​picked or I hit it at the totally wrong time which was Saturday afternoon. It was nice and clean I’ll say that for it, but just didn’t have much to get excited about except the high prices and that wasn’t exactly what I was looking for in a thrift shop – even if they spell it Shoppe… so…well, classy don’tcha think?
By the way, over 30 years junking and thrifting makes me somewhat of a pro I’d say.

MAIN STORE ON 7^th AVE:
What? I think the thrift store gave these reviews, except for the one review where they were complimented for picking up stuff.
This is the WORST thrift store (it should be called a garbage store) and it’s SO SAD, because it’s supposed to benefit a very worthy cause. I couldn’t believe the junk in there, broken vinyl albums by Barbra Streisand? Who would buy a broken vinyl record? I sifted through ALL of the albums (looking for a collectible, maybe?) found nothing, ALL were scratched pieces of S. The clothing was terribly out of date, and a fur jacket was for sale NO ONE WEARS FUR and it is useless in the Phoenix heat! WAYY overpriced, there was not ONE ITEM there a sane person could use. The books, hahaa lots of obsolete computer books, crappy novels. who donates this junk?!
If you want to have some laughs, take a gander in that place. I think a really poor person who has no idea how much things cost sets crazy prices on garbage, thinking erroneously that they are «treasures» lol.
what a waste of time stopping in there. I wonder how they stay in business?
CLEARANCE STORE BEHIND THE MAIN STORE:
Excellent hidden GEM. The «clearance» shop hidden behind the main store is excellent. Items sold for 10 cents, 50 cents, cameras for a dollar! The only problem I have, and it’s not exclusive to this particular shop, are BOOKS. There must be a «book gremlin» that steals, destroys, or hides each useful book sold in Arizona! I have donated USEFUL good books to this store, where ARE they? They sure were not placed on the shelves… hmmm??? THAT is a good question. Some one or some thing is deliberately removing or stopping good reference books from being purchased all over the city.
Meanwhile, Dove’s hidden clearance shop is my special favorite place in Phoenix. You can find some awesome electronics, old analog equipment and cute items for mere pennies. Unfortunately, this place has also been discovered by the eBay ogres! I heard there were actual fights going on between customers over «goodies». That is so sad. I wish people who frequent these places are honestly out to find good deals, not to load up on items for resale to make their own greedy profits.
One caveat: they have employed an older gentleman there who manages to make your shopping experience horrible. He can’t add, he argues about what an item is (pants? shirt? jacket?) it takes him a good seven minutes for a 7 second transaction. He literally makes me ANGRY if I have to deal with him. There prices are UNDER priced. They could easily up their prices with no trouble and still sell them reasonably. I picked up a very nice cat carrier like new with tag for 5.00 when the new price on it was around 85.00.

Between Flo’s on 7^th and White Dove, I can almost completely outfit myself year round. And as you know, Crusader Rabbit is a fashion icon – NOT.
White Dove has great clothing sales and cool, pretty high-​end furniture and clothing. I arrived at the right time one day as they were unloading an almost new awesome chair and ottoman in the perfect shade of maroon. The manager priced it for me at $ 60. What a steal. It’s in my bedroom even as I write this, covered with freshly laundered thrift sale summer clothing I have nowhere to store. I don’t think I’ve ever sat in it, but I know it’s comfortable.
I also kick myself every time I go there because I missed buying an almost new paddle boat for $ 100. What WAS I thinking?
For Central Phoenix gals, this is a convenient stop and always worth the trip.
P. S. Be sure to go around to the back across the parking lot where most of the clothing is. It’s worth the walk.

Fair prices, friendly service, & decent finds (sometimes).
This place is located NE of Camelback and 7^th Avenue.
I sometimes find something when I’ve stopped in, not so much recently.
No funky smells either. This place is clean and organized with just the right amount of merchandise to rummage through. Not much clothing. Mostly a lot of 80’s furniture.
The proceeds go to Hospice of the Valley.

Huge, tons of stuff, super low prices. I got some books but might head back to check the furniture and scarves again. Nice staff.

THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON DONATIONS:
We had boxes and boxes of household goods and pieces of furniture and bags of «stuff” — tons! It filled ¼ of the carport and I called White Dove and talked to the nicest young man who set up a pick up time to come gather all the goods, he told me that he was probably going to be the one picking it up too. It felt soo good to get rid of it all it felt even better knowing that our donations were going to a thrift shop with proceeds going to Hospice of the Valley.

Another great thrift shop located in the Phoenix area. This thrift store is 4,000 square feet– that’s huge! They have so much in here that it will definitely take you at least an hour to check it out.
The proceeds of this thrift shop go to Hospice of the Valley– definitely a worthy cause, and you’ll feel good about buying items here because of that.
You can find antiques here that are worth much more than the price on them, and the book selection is pretty great too!
I actually found a Prada handbag here once that cost me $ 20– and if you’re wondering– it’s a real one, not a knock-​off. Nice, huh?
