Description

Specialties

Woolsey Studio is made up of architects, designers, brand developers, and construction managers who care deeply that the places that people occupy work well and look good. They help businesses find the right look to attract and retain customers and employees. They help homeowners build or remodel to add resale value. They help institutions convey their mission and culture to their audience.

They are known as «marketing architects» a design category where the physical space (building and furniture) is used to convey a particular brand, look, and meaning. They believe that design can add value that returns to the bottom line and the clients pocket.

They have team members located in Phoenix and Los Angeles and serve clients all over the country. Their work has been published in magazines and broadcast on HGTV. They know how to make it look good and add value.

History

Established in 1994.

Woolsey Studio was launched in 1994 after Kristine Woolsey had spent years as both a practicing architect and faculty member at Arizona State University. Over the course of its history, they have designed hundreds of residences, numerous restaurants, multi-family public areas, various museums and community centers, and many other building types where design adds value.

The firm is set up to address the whole problem of design, offering full service architecture and interiors as a basic service and expanding that to include landscape design and construction management as needed. They are interested in finding the most beautiful solution which might be architecture, but could also be interior design or landscape.

Kristine W.

Business Owner

Kristine Woolsey started at age 15 working after school for an architecture/interior design firm. Her degrees are from Georgia Tech in Atlanta and Arizona State in Phoenix. She spent time as a non-degree student at the New York Studio School and the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris.

Her early career included work for Energy Efficient Environments a solar home specialist and an internship in the New York office of Peterson Littenberg, a firm that is internationally known for urban design projects.

She left practice to join the faculty at Arizona State University and ended up lecturing at universities across the country, sparking an invitation to teach a semester at the prestigious Southern California Institute of Architecture.

She returned to practice launching Woolsey Studio in 1994. Her interests were in providing combined architecture and interior design services in order to create projects that were both functional and beautiful.
