The service was terrible, the food is below average and the menu is misleading. I wouldn’t waste your time here. We came here twice. The first time had nachos and enchiladas. The mole sauce was good. But not spectacular. The second visit was awful. Terrible nachos and tasteless but greasy chimichanga. Seriously, don’t bother.

Everyone working was super nice, however, that doesn’t mean we had good service. It wasn’t a particularly busy time when we went(only 3 or 4 other tables in our room, and a couple outside), but it took them 25 minutes from after we ordered appetizers to bring our drink order, and we were sitting next to the bar. I think they only remembered because I loudly mentioned that we hadn’t gotten drinks yet. Then, they bring the drinks over(2 beers, 2 cocktails), 10 minutes later(35 minutes into the night) they bring our appetizers over. As we are eating the appetizers, they take the entrée order. At that point, we had eaten half the appetizers and only got 2 entrees for 4 of us to split. 35 minutes later, they bring the entrees out, and then they ask if we want another drink, only the 2nd time we were checked on by the wait staff in over an hour. The food was okay. Okay like your aunts potato salad that she may or may not have gotten from ACME on the way and just threw in a bowl. I got the fusion burger, which had the most upsetting piece of chorizo. It tasted and felt like kielbasa, and was bland and simultaneously overpowering to the rest of the burger. The nacho’s were acceptable. Guacamole and Pico were great, thought! Overall, I’d pass. Wasn’t worth the $, certainly wasn’t worth the time. Nice people and I hope my experience was singular, but looking at these reviews, I don’t think that’s the case. Hope you pull it together guys!

Stopped in after a Pheonixville beer fest and was presently surprised! Big place with lots of room, nice decorations, and huge bar. The menu had a nice selection of choices. I settled on the steak nachos and chorizo quesadilla. They were both great but the nachoes won me over in the end! All the elements in the nachos really built up to a great dish. Service was great too!

such a bummer… We called ahead and someone said we could reserve. Showed up at our time– no reservations. Waited for a half hour. Sat at the seats by the bar– you can’t sit there. Waited. Ordered apps. Ordered drinks. Waitress came back. Ordered food. Food came. No apps. Are everything. Apps came. No drinks. She brought us the check with the drinks on it when we never got the drinks FYI when you order chicken fajitas… They only came with 3 tortillas– pay extra for more. If you want lettuce and tomatoes on the side, pay more? I’m already paying 20 bucks for fajitas. I’m not paying more for lettuce! Just bummed…

Used to be absolutely amazing! The margaritas and the food were spot on delicious. Now the food taste old and the margaritas just aren’t as good! I used to be a regular here, not anymore.

The building and environment are nice. Lots of little separate areas containing 4 – 6 tables which helps to control any noise issues. It is nice that they offer some outdoor seating and a stocked bar. But honestly, the food is really lacking flavor and quality is fair to poor. Unfortunately I’d say pass Buho and go elsewhere. A big disappointment.

Though interested in trying Buho’s for a few years, it took a double-date for Valentine’s Day weekend to get me there finally. It feels good to want to do something, finally do it, and not be disappointed. Everything tastes great, and very obviously fresh. The chorizo nachos were delicious, chihuahua cheese and lightly grilled sliced jalapeños…wow, delicious. I tired the picha macho steak dish — minus the olives, sorry — and really enjoyed it. A lovely spice, tender steak and a tasty, unique dish. My only reason for 4 stars is that it felt a little more expensive than the value of the dishes. Not terribly more pricy, just a dollar or two more than I would have guessed the prices would be for each item. Definitely worth trying if it’s been on your list for a while.

The restaurant is located in an attractive building… but that is it. Everything else… food, drinks, service… all below average. I was very disappointed, especially since this place had 4 stars on Unilocal. When we ordered guacamole, I asked if they make it fresh and the waiter said«yes, it is» but what we got was frozen food with absolutely no taste. The ceviche had a bad taste, the maragaritas were nothing great. the main dish was just average. I will never go back.

The food and drinks are very good but for the second time in a row our meals were cold. After the first incidence, I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager. He told me he had other complaints and the main reason was the removal of their plate warmers. I asked the manager to bring my concerns to the owner — which he said he would. We tried another dinner and again our plates and meals were cold. There is no excuse for a restaurant to serve cold food!

This is my second time at Buhos. All of the food we have gotten has been freshly made. Nothing is frozen here besides some Margaritas! Their margaritas are fantastic, and their pico de gallo is probably the best I’ve ever had. That’s really saying something since I come from a Hispanic family. The plates are huge! You must try the carnitas. It melts in your mouth! I always get fajitas. Can’t complain. They do use corn wraps instead of flour, but I don’t mind that. As an appetizer, you NEED to get the beef empanadas. The dough and the meat is fresh! Now I need someone to send me some coupons because it is a little pricey!

Do you like loud music & bland food? If so you will love Buho’s. I will start by saying my waiter was doing shots at the bar before seating us. I ordered the Piqué Macho which the menu said included chorizo… I was served hot dogs. The fajitas were unremarkable & while I hate to give a local place a bad review, you couldn’t pay me to go back.

We love going to this place! The outside seating is very unique and comfortable. It sits off of the road, but you can still people watch and enjoy the presence of the outside. Their inside bar is beautiful and spacious and we love to go on Wednesdays for their mariachi band! The food is wonderful and the servers are always helpful and kind. Sometimes, they take a while to get to you, but when that happens, I usually become assertive and get up to find them. I’ve never had a problem with this, as I know working in a restaurant can be busy and stressful and they have never minded either! The perfect Mexican spot in downtown Phoenixville.

How often do you yearn for your fix of Bolivian food? Maybe the answer is never but I’ll bet that is only because you have never traveled around the beautiful and fascinating country of Bolivia. If you’ve been to Bolivia, you’ll be happy to know that in Phoenixville is a restaurant owned by Bolivian-Americans called Buho which serves up a couple of that country’s tasty specialties along with other Latin-American dishes. Buho is an excellent culinary destination. First of all, it is extremely attractive both outside and inside. The friendly staff is more than eager to make sure you get good service. They have their own parking lot right on Bridge Street. And then there is the food. I def had to go with the well-known Bolivian meal of Piqué Macho. I wasn’t disappointed at all. Their Cochabamba rendition of this steak extravaganza pleases the eye and palate — especially with the addition of the ubiquitous Bolivian Llajwa sauce. The meal began with a nice serving of nachos and salsa. Next time I eat here, I’ll def try out another Bolivian dish called Silpancho. Buho means«owl» in Spanish. So be wise like an owl, and check out this great Latin fusion restaurant and bar!

Great find in Phoenixville! Our waitress certainly needs more practice and polish, but overall my friend and I enjoyed our lunch here on a fall Saturday. Cool space and generally nice vibe, and good menu selection. She had the carnitas, while I chose chicken enchiladas. The portions were large, and the food was good. We both loved the salsa, which had a decent kick.

Very good Mexican food. They serve you chips and salsa right away which were both excellent. We also got the guac which was delish and I recommend trying. We tried both the steak and chicken chimichanga which were good. The quesadilla was pretty good but it wasn’t the best I’ve had and was a little soggy. The margaritas were great and they came in the cutest glasses shaped as a cactus. They had a mariachi band outside that night so it made it extra enjoyable to sit outside and eat. The entire outside is adorable. It’s very inviting. The staff is great and very attentive. They had good drink specials during dinner hour which was a nice plus. It’s a great addition to Phoenixville. I’ll definitely come back!

Great food., outstanding service! Came to visit my best friend who lives in Phoenixville and decided to go for Mexican food. We had been here before when it was under a different name.,(can’t recall the name) but this time the food was much better., more variety., they now have typical dishes from South America and Central America. I had the Argentenian Churrasco and the Tostadas and they were both excellent. My favorite were the Tamarind margaritas! Out of this world! Angel the owner was so nice & professional, He came to our table more than once just to make sure we were satisfied with everything. Highly recommend it!

Really disappointing. The salsa was fermenting. I haven’t seen that before. Bought chips. How can you not make your own. The entrees were ok at best. I had the mixed Mexican plate and my age had the tacos. It seems much more Mexican than Asian Fusion. Oh well.

Visited Buho’s for an early dinner. Will need to visit again and give it another shot. Walked in and felt lost & not welcomed. The staff seemed to be between shifts. We basically sat ourselves outside. Food was OKAY. We will revisit and I will post an update.

Read your receipt! I love the food and drinks here– BUT we have been here for dinner 3 times, and two of those times we have been overcharged. Pay attention to the price on the menu and make sure it matches on your check. I don’t want to think this is deliberate, but charging an extra couple bucks per check could probably make a restaurant a good chunk of money. The first time was the most outrageous. We ordered food and drinks– my boyfriend ordered the Pina Colada right from the drink menu(he even pointed to it) There it was«Pina Colada– $ 8.» A few minutes later out comes this GIANT hollowed out pineapple filled with frozen piña colada– We got a good laugh out of watching him drink from it– and even commented«wow– this is crazy for $ 8!» When the bill came out we were charged $ 16 for it! When I asked her about it she said«that’s today’s special» I looked around and asked where that was posted– and she couldn’t show us– nothing on the easel outside, nothing posted inside at the bar(even though we were outside and never would have seen it if it were inside) Now listen, this was a great drink and worth well over $ 8 so I wasn’t arguing that– I just think it was pretty sneaky to upgrade us to the«special» that is double the price without consulting us– I heard her argue a bit with the owner in the other room and came back asking for $ 10 which i was happy to pay. The second time we were there with a party of 6 and 3 of our items were $ 1 – 2 more than what they were listed as on the menu. They were happy to fix it when we pointed it out.

Came here for dinner with friends the other week and had a good time. It was a pain to find parking, but there is actually a parking lot behind the restaurant which is easily missed and entered from a back road. The chips and salsa they give you to start were great. To drink, I ordered a regular margarita, which was perfect. For my entrée, I ended up ordering the meat quesadilla which was pretty good, but nothing to write home about. It was very filling, though. Service was about average. Prices were reasonable. The restaurant was a little too loud for me, especially for a Wednesday night. Overall, a good experience. I would try it again if in the area.

Local Flavor is a beautiful thing. A few weeks ago I took full advantage of a $ 15.00 for $ 30.00 worth of food offer at Buhos, a place I’ve been wanting to try for a while now. Buhos has the most curious choice of exterior signage I’ve ever seen used by a restaurant. It honestly looks like something designed in a high school wood shop. Thankfully there is more thought put into their food than into their branding. I opted for a to-go order of two entrees and a dessert. One of the entrees was the Piqué Macho and the other, sadly, I don’t recall the name and it appears to be off their menu. Piqué Macho — OOOOOH, YEEEEAHH. I dug it. Shout out to Randy Savage, RIP. This Bolivian dish is stocked with steak, home-fried potatoes, onions, tomatoes, jalapenos, eggs, and olives, and topped with lljawa, a spicy sauce. The other entrée was equally delicious. If I can think of the name I’ll come back and edit. The flan I got for dessert was a great finale but not worth the $ 5.95 for the relatively paltry portion. All in all I was pretty impressed and plan to return to dine in person.

Awesomesauce. Literally. The two salsas they served us were awesome. In fact, we kept commenting on them. I don’t always love green salsa, either, but I was really digging into this one. We weren’t sure what to expect when we arrived. No other patrons were about on this beautiful Sunday evening. We got our choice of courtyard seats. Pretty soon the outside was filled to capacity.(We’re trendsetters. Obviously.) Sangria and Margaritas were both good. The cheesey chorizo appetizer thingie was soooo delish.(Yes, you should order it.) Took our server’s suggestion and we both got the A la Mexicana for entrees. My fiancé got chicken and I got beef. We both agreed mine was the better choice, although they were both yummy. This dish is served with torts, but I found that it was better without. Other things that might be helpful to know: There’s a well-priced kids’ menu with entrees that won’t scare the bejeezus out of your kids.(We didn’t have ours with us, so no word on the taste factor.) The indoor décor remains very much the same from the previous restaurant. Not a pro or a con, just an observation. Parking is super easy. The place is surrounded by a ginormous lot. Menu had many surprises. Lots of eggs and potatoes. A few items mention Bolivia so I guess the fusion part is Cental and South America. Or just Mexico and Bolivia. I don’t really know exactly. Listen, it’s not my job to do your homework for you, so you can ask about it when you go.

I am working down the street today and was in the mood for Mexican. I saw this place was new and had a few good ratings. The menu sounds great. Lots of great options including one of my favorites; beef tongue tacos, and a great lunch special with lots of options! And all for under $ 7 it looked like a great deal! I called to place my order and the person who answered the phone was very pleasant and I was told 15 minutes, I was surprised and even repeated it back and he said yes TEN minutes! ?? So I waited 15 minutes and walked over. The place is very nice looking and looks like it has the ability to hold a lot of people. There was no one upfront so I had to walk around to find someone to who worked there. I was told just a few minutes and I waited. … And waited… and waited… and waited… the girl who was the only person I saw working there was the waitress, hostess and bartender. She tried to avoid eye contact the whole time. She was obviously nervous and I must have looked frustrated. The place looked empty except two guys at the bar and two tables that I could see. The two guys at the bar were helped several times before I was even offered a soda. At least put some chips and salsa out for me. lol 45 minutes after I ordered the check was brought out and I asked how much longer until I got the food. The food was out a few minutes later. When the food finally came the cook brought it out and apologized for the wait and said he gave us free guacamole, chips and salsa. I got the food back. I was expecting it to be piping hot but most of it was just warm to me. And then we started eating it. Three of us ordered nachos with chorizo, beef tongue tacos, and 3 meals. We split the beef tongue tacos and I got the enchilada. The Beef tongue tacos were very good. The enchilada sauce was a little bland for me personally. The nachos were basically a big thing of chips with a huge pile of cheese and fajita onions and peppers. It was really good. We also had some plain nacho chips which tasted fresh and very good with the guacamole. Two of The salsas were decent but the hot one was very good, smoky and spicy! My coworkers all enjoyed their meals also and neither of them thought twice about the temperature so maybe I am being overly critical. Sadly I am moving far away so I won’t get to try this again in a few months to see but hopefully this place gets the service to match the food. On a side note it looked like they had 4 craft beers on tap and a few tequilas. Some good daily and happy hour specials also.

I’ll definitely be back. It was a bit chaotic. It may have been their first night under the new name. The margaritas were good, the price was fair. The food was solid. I’d like to try more. The chips were great. The guac was great(read fresh). The service was spotty. We sat for a while before a drink order was taken. no water offered, no apology. Overall staff was super friendly, just a bit disorganized. I’ll definitely be back and you should give it a try, too. And oh yeah, tell ‘em Big Texas sent you!
