Update: Much better service this last time.
Someone needs to overhaul Will Call. I’ve been a customer with Garvey for over 15 years and ever since First Source took over it has become more and more difficult to do business with them. I have an account with payment info. I made an appointment. I walk in the door and my order is sitting right there and yet it took 35 mins for me to finally walk back out the door with my order. That is ridiculous!!! Especially since it was a small order!

I just called to try to place an online order and pick up at will-​call, that was a no-​go. You need a business or re-​sellers license. Meh… that sucks

If I could give them ZERO stars I would. Since they changed ownership they no longer allow you to walk & choose ur items. I came into the warehouse to do my shopping, the lady at the desk by the door «named Candi» told me to sign in. I signed in @ 10:32am…and she said she’d be right with me. All I needed to do was place an order since I was already here. She kept taking will call pick up as they came in after me. If u wasn’t already there waiting for an hour I would have left. All she had to do was tell me they were busy and it’s best to place the order by phone. Their website sucks! It’s 11:41 now & I’m debating on leaving… only thing is i’ve already wasted all this time!!!

Unlike Willy Wonka, Garvey is down to earth and not at all eccentric. Okay, I have no idea who Garvey is but I sure do like his candy store!
However, they NO LONGER ALLOW WALK INS.
So, before you drive all the way here, make sure you set up an account online or through
, place your order online or by fax, and pick up your goodies at will call. Unfortunately, the company’s policy changed so you can no longer peruse down the aisles. That’s not a bad thing since I would have spent hours in there if I could.
But despite the new policy (which apparently went into effect last year), the employees were awesome, friendly and helpful. Can you guess the theme for my daughter’s birthday from the picture of candies I bought? Does it look Frozen to you?
I looked online for quotes from other candy vendors and the prices here are clearly unparalleled.
850 pearlescent blue gumballs: $ 38.74

I only wish they extended hours beyond 8 – 4:30 pm, or at least opened part of the weekends.

Awesome place! I just wish the prices were on the shelves. There’s only one scanner in the warehouse. Employees are helpful & friendly.

Drove down here looking to find candy for a candy bar for my wedding. They no longer sell to the public so it was a waste of time to come down, I would check out Jack’s in downtown la they have everything!!!

Pretty much every candy known to man. This is a wholesale warehouse so you must have a sellers permit and an account to buy here.

I made my annual trip out to Garvey today to buy candy for a large event that I put together every year. I was very disappointed to see that they are now CASH ONLY.
I asked the cashier if I could price out all of the goodies I needed to buy and run to the bank and he said no. I told him that I would be buying $ 500-​$ 700 worth of candy, and that didn’t change his answer.
I think it’s very short-​sighted of management to a. not accept credit cards, b. not have an ATM machine and c. not allow customers to have what they would like priced out so they can go to the bank and complete their transaction.
I also think it would be nice if they added their cash only policy to their website. I wouldn’t have wasted a couple hours of my day otherwise.

Couverture chocolate! High end chocolate that’s good for chocolatering needs~ The brand I bought is usually $ 15 for 1lb of chocolate pieces online, but here, it’s $ 6.66!~
Grand selection of candies from all over the place! Mexican candies, American candies… even some candies made from China? It’s true.
But they carry the more popular ones, so I suggest before coming in, calling the store and ask if they may carry it or is in stock.
You might ask yourself, well, what about Costco candy in wholesale? Well, it depends on the candy actually. Some candy I felt to be cheaper at Costco, others were cheaper here (like the Dentyne Cinnamon gum packaged priced at 10 something compared to Costco’s $ 13).
ah yea. but cash only. good thing there’s some banks nearby close to the shopping plazas.

Ahhh mazing! When I walked in I told my aunt I wish I could lick the air! It smells so good! I needed bulk candy last minute for a baby shower & my aunt said that she had gone here 4 my lil cousins school candy table. I got what I needed & everyone who works there is very friendly… how can u not be sweet working in a candy factory? CASHOLA ONLY! Oh and no children are allowed either… which I thought was funny… isn’t that what u turn into walking into a candy store?

Their phone support/​ordering department/​shipping department is the worst of any kind. We have ordered from them about 4 – 5 times and EVERY order we have made has been messed up, delayed or mishandled. We are promised it will go out and sometimes it is more than a week before they ship the product. Twice they sent us the wrong product and what a hassle to return it.
I would look for another supplier if you need to order by phone/​mail. Their warehouse might be great but the customer support on the phone is the worst I have dealt with.

You drive around, see the Garvey Nut & Candy building, park, and walk in the front door. All’s good and well if you’re a corporate customer, but you probably wouldn’t be Unilocaling the place if you were. No, being the commoner you are, you’re relegated to the thug entrance around the back.
You walk into the warehouse, and the candy is packed so high that it’s scary. I mean that literally. There is so much candy here that if one stack fell over, you probably WOULD die under the weight. Every single candy you can imagine. Every single brand. Haribo Golden Bears by the 10 lb bag? They’ve got em. The sour belts that they sell at Sweet Factory (not the ones that Costco sells, as those as supremely inferior, you sour-​belt n00b)? They’ve got em. ANYTHING you’ve seen at any candy store and wondered «where do they buy this stuff?», First Source (previously Garvey Nut & Candy) will have it. Seriously, look around, they WILL have it.
Don’t make the mistake of shopping around in the front section by the registers, as that’s all the retail-​packaged stuff, and prices there are barely better than Costco (but mind, you, they still ARE better). The real deals are slightly further back and to the left, where everything comes in bulk-​packaging bags, not retail wrappings. A 6lb bag of sour belts was $ 23. A 5lb bag of Sour Patch Fruit Salad was $ 11. A 5lb bag of Peach Rings was $ 9. A 5lb bag of Haribo Frogs was $ 7. In comparison, a ONE pound bag of any of these at any retail candy store would be $ 13.
You’ll have too much junk you want to buy, and unless you find one of those rolling carts they have around, not enough man strength to carry it all. As an example, we couldn’t find the cart, and I’m arguably the strongest man ever (also the best looking, but, you know, let’s stay relevant here), and we could only realistically carry ¼ of all the stuff we wanted.
You’ll need at LEAST half an hour to find everything you want, because of how confusing this store is laid out, and the fact that everything is in giant cardboard boxes that you have to dig through. It’s dark, so take a flashlight. You might look like an idiot, but at least you’ll find the candy you want.

This place is amazing, yet overwhelming.
Okay first off you need to know what you want before walking into this warehouse b/​c it’s literally a WAREHOUSE! Think of Costco or Sam’s Club and that’s what we’re talking about here. There are rolls and columns ranging form your dried nuts & fruits to candies that you’ve never even heard of and everything else in between too!
Most of the items are in boxes so you’ll need to read the description they have on the rolls and columns, but if you’re still lost then you can always ask one of their fiendly staff that’s walking/​moving/​lifting stuff around. They’re there to help you out.
Prices are cheap on some items but if you’re looking to buy cholocate items then you’ll be paying a little more but don’t get me wrong you can still find a good deal here.
I would totally come here again, but will have a check list in handy this time! =]

HOLY CANDY MECCA.
As I pray to the East, there are hello kitty lunchboxes filled with what I can only describe as cavities in a cavity. But first off, to get to the retail side you have to drive to the loading docks and pass through some plastic stoppers filled with disease. However, once you go in there are endless aisles of candy. I really don’t know if the prices are that good but if you’re planning a themed party this place is for you. There are baby shower candy, m&m, jelly belly, chocolate covered pretzels, all your designer candies, etc. Some things you can buy in bags and some you have to buy the whole box. Overall, I think we name brand candy it’s about the same as costco but a much larger selection

They have really cute big old school lollipops that would be so cute for a wedding or party… i believe $ 1+ for one so $ 19.99 for a box of 18 and they have every color. But bring glasses cause it’s super dark in there and no one really helps you.

I came here to buy candy for the candy bar at my wedding. It was recommended by Jeni at EMP Invites/​Found Rentals. I had been shopping for candy and seeing prices of 450 – 600 for 100 pounds of candy.
Thank goodness I came here. This place is pretty overwhelming, but there are so many people that are willing to help you. They have so much candy and it is very reasonably priced. They even had some on clearance. I got a 5 pound bag of Lindt truffles for $ 7. Amazing.
The most expensive thing was M&M’s, but those are high anywhere. Depending on the type of candy, some were less than $ 1 a pound!
I left with over 100 pounds of candy for about $ 150.

I went here to get some supplies for work. This was the first time I have been here and I was truly impressed.
First off the place is huge! Be sure to go around the building to the loading dock for your goods. However, the receptionist was very nice in guiding me to the right place. This was the first of the nice folks that make this place great. I went around and parked close to the door, mainly because I am going to be carrying out 55 lbs of supplies. I walked in and was over whelmed at how much stuff they had. I soon realized that I needed to ask where to find the rock candy. There are employees everywhere as you are walking into a functioning warehouse, not just products on display like a regular store. Warning: there are big forklifts running all over the place. I was confronted with one and moved to the edge of the isle. The driver replied «Hey, thanks for moving guy» and every time I moved out of a workers way I got the same reply. Very nice and very professional.
So I was guided to where where the rock candy was but there it was all on sticks and was colored, I needed white with no sticks or strings. I looked all around, up and down the isle, looking very confused and the same lady I asked the first time directed me to another place where they had rock candy. I went there and found what I needed, but I had to make sure. Again, another worker helped me. He put down his clip board and we checked out the candy. It was exactly what I needed. Instead of walking way he picked up the box, asked me to get his clip board and walked all 55 lbs of the rock candy to the check out line for me! Very professional and very nice.
Once at the check out counter, the checker was also very nice. I mentioned this was the first time I was here and he explained that they only took cash, so be forewarned. I was in and out of there in about 20 minutes. Pretty good time considering that I was lost for about 10 of them.
