My family and I have been coming here for over 25 years. The doctors and staff here are great they really show kindness and affection to your pets as if they were their own. They’re really affordable and on Saturday they have a discount vaccinations the facilities are well-​maintained and clean.

Brought my dog here. She had mange. Dr was very attentive. He even called a week later to check and see how she was doing. Would bring her again.

I am only speaking through the perspective of the ear cropping process and how it works and how the staff treated me. So you like me could have a heads up and know what to expect from staff, the vet and MONEY it’s going to cost you!
So, I got myself a Doberman, he was 7 weeks old when I got him which only left a window of 2 weeks before the «recommended time frame» of cropping the Doberman ears as per professional advice.
This place was not my first resort, but more like my only resort because I originally wanted Butchko Veterinary Hospital in riverside to do it, but they were booked for months! Leaving just a few options and this was the only one willing to do it immediately. Naturally it was something I had to do and soon. I recommend Butchko he did my boxer, and a friend’s Argentinian mastiff and came out beautiful! You do the judging and google the establishment. «wanted Butchko Veterinary Hospital in riverside»
Scheduled my appointment:
Staff at this point seems inviting over the phone, and over the phone ONLY. Gives me an appointment tells me the dog must not eat anything after 8pm as he must have an empty stomach to go under anesthesia the next morning. So now I’m there the next day at the time of the appointment. If you expect people to get up and ask you what you want, why you’re there, welcome you, or fill you in on the explaining how the damn places runs this is not the place for you. You constantly have to guess or ask till their ready to see you.
Surgery process:
The ear cropping procedure costs 300, that doesn’t mean it’s going to end up only costing 300. My total was a whopping 655.22! And can cost a lot more if you get blood work, I/​V catheter etc., another reason why you don’t do it here. So before you start surgery they give you options which I think should be standard but aren’t with the 300 dollar ear crop. For example I Paid extra for a pain injection after the surgery (which I feel should be standard after they remove pieces of your body), I paid for an EKG during the surgery which I feel should come standard also, as they would never perform surgery on a human without monitoring vitals why would you not on your new family member?. After they connected the EKG they noticed an abnormality in the dogs heart beat so they recommended an Xray which costed me 180. Then they charge you for the post-​surgery meds, dog head cone and everything else.
THE VET:
Meeting the Vet whom crops the dogs ears (is a he) R.S. Goraya, DVM brings out a small photo album book of ear he’s done. Which are decent, but when explaining your likes and dislikes or how you want the cropping done he cuts you off and is in a hurry to get away from you. Which I absolutely hated, I had to keep showing him what I wanted and he was not into listening at all. Be advised! He doesn’t care what you’re saying.
Over all rating:
Staff is Rude and horrible at the front desk. Mr. Goraya does not listen and is extremely expensive and charges you for things that should come standard. Making this over all experience not good at all.
After the ears are done I will not return. Im in-​to-​deep. Very Disappointed.

I made an appointment online one day in advance. I hadn’t received an email or phone call so I called in to confirm. They said it wasn’t confirmed because I requested 730 and the latest they take exams is 7 pm. I asked 7 any day? They said yes. I get there the next day at 640 and someone is blocking the driveway so there is a line to the street of cars trying to pull in but can’t because this lady decided to park in a non parking spot. I park around the corner and wait in line. It’s now 645. The receptionist says it’s too late and the dr isn’t seeing anymore animals for exams. I explained I called and they told me before 7. She says it varies everyday and I asked then why would you guys say by 7 And explained this is my second day I’ve attempted to come and they’ve turned me away. She rolls her eyes at me and takes her sign in clipboard. Wasted two days and my dog is the one who suffers because she still hasn’t been seen. Now I need to find another place.

I’ve been going to the animal hospital for years never had a bad experience staff members are very helpful and polite aNother good thing they do on Saturdays they have vaccinations for a very afordable price I recommend the animal hospital to anybody that has pets

Great place! Pet friendly! People friendly! Clean environment! I have always seen it as I used to drive passed it on my way to my fiancé home. Seems busy on Sat.
So a few days ago my daughter notice that her bunny’s arm was tucked in (not knowing it was a fracture). The bunny showed no signs of pain, jumping around. But still we wanted to get a clear mind. So when I called to get some info the receptionist was very informative! I liked that. She set our appointment. We showed up half an hour early since I live 20 minutes away and wanted to avoid traffic. I was greeted by the staff. I inform her it was our bunny first time. We filled out paper work. Not even 10 minutes went by after turning in the paper work and we were called in. After being called in the assistant took weigh and temp. After that the doctor came in examined the bunny and new it was a fracture. X-​rays taken and 5 minutes went and he showed the film. He explained what needed to be done. So we left the bunny in his hands. Staff went over the charges and told us the time it will take. We went back 2 hours later and bunny was ready. The doctor left the discharge notes with the front desk and she explained everything clear.
I love how the office and staff made my daughter feel at ease knowing her pet is in good hands. Thank you Dr. Goraya

Staff is very friendly. Vets were very gentle with my cats and fees are reasonable. Office are is very clean and so are the rooms.

Had my Dobermans ears cropped here they have done any amazing job… Every time I come in to the hospital they are very quick to help.

I came in with my dog early morning two days ago as a walk in after my dog tore her toenail off.
This was our first time here and we were brought in after hardly any wait and our dog was taken care of in the best manner Ive seen yet.
She is a 70 lb pitbull terrier and usually I see her providers get intimidated by her. Not this staff, ultra friendly and got right down on the floor with her to help her the best way possible.

Pico Rivera animal hospital is the only vet I trust with all my pets. We have being going to them for at least 15 years and have many pets in there care. We take our dogs and cats here. They have worked with us for services on our pets. They also provide grooming which we utilize too. If any one ask for a recommendation for their pets I always recommend Pico Rivera Animal Hospital.

We went last weekend to get our puppy her second round of shots. It was during the Saturday low cost vaccination day. I was surprised how fast it was and how friendly the staff was. We have been coming here since our first dog was a puppy. He is 13 years old.

Came by again, this time for our Boxer Jane. The service has been nothing but great from all the staff and vets here. They really do take care of us and our loved one and show it not only towards us but our pets. Will continue to come here in the future. Have not had anything to complin about. The place is clean, waiting area is nice inside and outdoors, and the doctors are very knowledgable.
To uodate on our cat he is doing extremely well now. He is actually very annoying at times lol but hes part of the family and me and my wife love em. Thanks to this hospital we have been able to give him a great home after his visit as a kitten.
Now were hoping to prolong our dear Janes life as best as possible without letting her be in pain daily. It will be a difficult few weeks. She is 9 years old and has a number of things affecting here from eye sight to tumors. Were praying for the best and hoping to make the best possible decisions for her. She one of us and its painful to see her this way… but i think we all take that journey when we decide to buy/​adopt a pet.

I have been coming here for years and I love Dr. Goraya, however Dr. Louka was awesome! My 10 year old doberman went in with back pain and Dr. Louka was just great! He seemed to really care about my dog’s pain and examined her very carefully. He gave me his recommendations, which I felt were sincere. I paid for x-​ray and they did her entire body for a flat rate. I also paid for blood work, medication and shots for the pain.
The reason I give them 4 stars because I feel they should waive the office visit fee if you pay for x-​ray and blood work. The other GREAT thing about this place is that they have all NEW people in the front. The old employees were sometimes rude or seemed not to care about the customers or pets. So great Job Dr. Goraya for getting staff that care about our pets.

I understand that it’s a Saturday and the shots are cheaper on this day but I didn’t like the service. The people on the front desk could be a little more helpful and specially when things need to be explain.

This is long over due, THANK YOU to Pico Rivera Animal Hospital, its staff (Erin) Dr. Gill & Dr Keal. We were reffered and they have been a blessing for our Italian greyhounds health and life. She had broken her leg, and we had got the run around and overcharged with bad treatment from another animal hospital. Since bringing Claire here, shes received the best treatment and care, in a extremely clean and up to date in technology and facilities. They have a customer care staff team that answer all questions through and through with a smile. They are affordable, work with care credit and dont just come off all about money, but truly care for your pet, and treat you as well. Each experience either for surgery (which they have performed for us), or a check up its always worth bringing your pet to the best of the best, so bring them to Pico Rivera Animal Hospital.

Got my pitbull/​XL bully pups ears cropped here and they came out great! I was hesitant at first because it was my first time there but Dr Goraya did a great job! I plan on going back soon!

0 … F@$k this place! I took my boxer to have surgery back in December. They left the the IV catheter in her vain. I did not see it right away, do to the white tape and her white fur on her legs. I called the office and was told the Dr. Would call me back. (no call back) following day I was left on hold for 12 minutes, no one came back to the line. I took my boxer in and they did not let me in with her, a vets assistant came and took her in the room, I was asked to stay in the waiting room. When asked to speak to the Dr., She was not available, «she’s in surgery». Vet assistant came back with my boxer and said «she’s okay, she did not have the IV in her vain anymore». No shit! She pulled it out and bled in her bed!!! Never apologized and I never was able to speak to the irresponsible Dr. Who left the IV in my dog!
