The most unique Thrift store outside of LA! You must stop by if you’re in the neighborhood. Neat and special items.

I stopped by today since I was looking for a sturdy set of bookshelves and found a unique dark bookshelf. The quality of the furniture available is in great condition. I have been shopping antique stores for some time and found pieces you would not normally find elsewhere. Great customer service.

This place is great! After the whole day of driving around looking for a particular lamp i found it at sanford’s woop woop! Vincent was very helpful and even carried my stuff to my car. You go Vincent you go!!!

vintage treasures at affordable prices! if you love mid century modern or well made, SOLID wood furniture, take a drive to sanford vintage. the boyfriend and i just scored a seriously sweet art-​deco era dresser with dovetail joints and detailed etched pulls that are AMAZING. it was in great condition and a total steal at $ 85. i couldn’t get a piece of junk ikea furniture for that price in l.a.!! vincent, the owner, is easy to work with. prices are so reasonable, you don’t need to take out a bank loan or negotiate, but i suppose you can. :)

Awsome find! We were heading back home to San Francisco and decided to Unilocal the nearest Thrift Store while we were stuck in traffic. Stanford Junk came up with great reviews, so we took a chance. Very glad we did, this place is filled with treasures! We buy an shabby old wood furniture, and Vince truly gave us a great deal on multiple pieces! We will definitely hit him up again the next time we are in the area!

I stumbled across this great find on Unilocal about a month ago and purchased all the milk glass vases for a buck each, (much better than goodwill, $ 2.95 ea). The guy at the counter was a hoot and very helpful!!!
I stopped in this past weekend looking for more milk glass items for a vintage themed baby shower I am having. I totally missed the table out in front of the store (2 for $ 1) then Vince asked if I needed help, I told him what I was looking for and he showed me to the 2 for 1 table,…SCORE on milk glass candy dishes!!! After I paid and left the store he ran out to my car with other items, now that’s what I call awesome customer service… Will be back again real soon

Found this place on Craig’s list by accident looking for a park bench. Lo and behold, they make custom park benches for about half the cost — this inlcudes painting/​finishing/​delivery in the local area. I live in Anaheim and they still delivered to me for free. Vince was the guy that I contacted — he’s a younger guy and really did a great job. We purchased a condo in Nov. 2014 and had been looking for a park bench and picnic table combination for our dining room. We ordered a 7 foot table 2 ½ weeks before Christmas — thinking we wouldnt be able to have Christmas at our new place because of the short notice, we ordered expecting to have to wait until after New Year’s day. But Vince was great and gave us a turn around time of 2 weeks exactly and we got the table in time to have Christmas dinner at our place. We ordered the set with the dark brown top and white legs along with 2 long benches and 2 short/​end benches and love it to death! It is the centerpiece of our home and our favorite piece of furniture that we own to date. The pricing is great, his service is great and we wish Sanford’s Junk store much success. We have to stop by sometime to say «hello» and «thanks again!»

This place is amazing! They have everything from vintage clothing to mid century modern furniture. They are all priced to sell and they are constantly getting new merchandise. I would suggest to go asap if you are looking for that perfect vintage item to bring a room together. Make sure you talk to the owner Vincent! He is Awesome!

A great find. Lots of unique antique items. If you got the whole rustic decorative thing going on in your house, this is the place to look.

Found this place on Unilocal and thought to stop by. Mentioned that it was our first time and we were told there was more stuff next door. There is a mixture if everything. My husband bought some really cool The Savage Sword of Conan The Barbarian and The Hulk, he cleaned them out. If you are in the area stop by and check them out… you never know what you’ll find. The person that was helping us was really nice. They had a selection of furniture and collectibles. Great use of space. Yes, Sanford’s will be in our rotation and we’d definitely go back!

Been dropping into this store on and off for a couple years now. Its one of the very few cool places in Pico. Vincent is very reasonable, helpful and not pushy at all. I haven’t had the opportunity to drop money on big ticket items but everything he has is the real deal. From little trinkets to glassware, furniture, garden and housewares. Its really fun to paw through everything. You cant be in there for just five minutes… I stay and make my rounds to make sure I didn’t miss anything. You’re gonna leave with something, hopefully. Drop on by, its a good time :)

This place is pretty cool, but deff over priced. It is true that nothing has a price and there is absolutely no haggling. I wanted to buy three vintage suitcases (all different sizes; the biggest was the cheapest @ $ 10) I wanted the owner to give me a better deal since I was taking more items and he literally told me «no, I can sell those all day long so take it or leave it!» I ended up just taking one suitcase, but I was really irritated with his attitude.
Overall the place has lots of vintage finds, but he knows their worth so he prices the items at what he feels is a good price for him. I thrift often so I’m use to haggling or at least getting a good deal, I just don’t get that feeling at this place, but deff worth checking out!

Just m the neighboring city of Whiiter and seen this place driving by, so we stopped to take a look! Great antique/​vintage things! Owner/​employee/​whatever was the nicest, most easy going person ever! Walked out with 2 items for less than 20 bucks! !Thanks for a wonderful experiance and awesome items!

If you are a dickhead looking for perfectly staged presentation and a flawless «retail experience» as part of your vintage shopping, go to Silverlake and spend a grand or more on the amazing (AMAZING) stuff I got here today for half the price. Please, go. I will be glad. In fact, I don’t even really want to write this review, because I run the risk of tipping off more Silverlake dickheads like you, who will come and ruin this treasure chest of unique and reasonably priced gems for me.
Yes, it’s a small business. Their hours are not always going to be cut and dry – but you know what else this means? If you want to drop in to pick up a desk on Memorial Day, they offer to meet up with you, just because. They are a small, hard-​working team, and you can tell that they collect with passion.
Their prices are fair and, and although I am a shitty negotiator and didn’t even ask (because I already felt so high from finding the perfect dining room lamp, which I’ve been seeking for almost a year), they offered a deal because I took a few things. If you’re into haggling, you’ll probably have a field day. Not my bag.
I’ve been collecting vintage housewares and furniture since I was a teen, when they flowed like so much wine through the CHOC and Salvation Army of the glorious ‘90s. I never thought that, one day, my pastime would become nearly impossible to enjoy. Overpriced, overcurated collections at of-​the-​moment vintage stores, and «boutique» sections in even the most abysmal thrift stores have all but ruined the experience. But this felt like the real deal, and it was nice to enjoy that again.
I wanted to explore every little corner, but there just wasn’t enough time! I’ll just have to go back again. Soon.
Lastly, I grew up on the Downey/​Pico line (shoutout to Pepe’s), which makes this even more rewarding for me. All the more reason to go and pay a visit to mom’s place once in a while.

Last Sunday I started looking for a particular piece of furniture, after going to other antique/​furniture stores in my area I stopped by Sanford’s, Should have been my first stop since it’s so close to me. I’m so happy that I did stop in, as soon as I walk in I found what I was looking for. Sanford’s will probably become a regular stop for me.
Give this place a try… If you aren’t scared of a little dust.

I rolled into Sanford’s by mistake on Labor Day weekend and was bummed I had driven from downtown LA to Pico Rivera. Then a chill looking guy washing his truck asked if we wanted him to open up the store and look around. Naturally we said yes and I ended up with a mid-​century Venetian lamp, priced reasonably. There is a range of vintage items at Sanford’s from mid-​century modern furniture sets to gothic Spanish lamps to old school desks to just strange junk. While nothing is garage sale prices, it isn’t as much as you would pay for stuff on Melrose. Like any good self-​proclaimed junk store, deals can be made. I’m glad I took the trip down.

My experience with Sanford’s started off a little strangely when I called to see if they were open… a man answered the phone «Hello?»
I said «Oh, you’re open… I was just calling to check if you were open».
He responded «Well, just because I answered my cell phone doesn’t mean we’re open, but we are.»
Ummm, okay…
In retrospect I should’ve taken that as a hint or a sign as to what was to come.
There are two buildings, side-​by-​side. One is clothing and junk, and the other side is furniture and junk. When I say «junk», I don’t mean the euphemism for antiques and cool vintage thingies, I mean junk as in trash that the local Salvation Army would turn down. Broken things. Filthy things.
I actually saw a cute little vintage milk-​glass mug in a particularly sunny shade of orange, and when I picked it up to check the maker’s mark on the bottom, I was shocked as some unknown smelly liquid hit the floor and splattered on me!
When I looked in the cup it was full of the most disgusting ancient mold-​covered slime… I think it had been someone’s coffee about 6 months ago :-((((
The guy working there (owner? employee?) just sort of laughed and said «yeah, this is a gross store». No apology, no offer of a napkin to wipe off the festering goo that was now on my hand.
«A gross store»? Really, dude? Well actually, that pretty much sums it up.
