Was in town from Florida. Our car had died on the other side of the smoky mountains. We were towed over the mountains to Carr’s auto service. We arrived at around 8 o’clock at night and were able to rent a car from them for $ 40 to get us to our hotel for the night. They had our car up and running just after lunch the next day. The customer service was excellent. Rates were average but for the time frame the car was returned to us was excellent! Hope I never need their service again, BUT, if we are in the area, and I do, I would return to them in a heart beat.

We had a worst case automotive scenario on Sunday, Aug 2. My wife was away at art school and her car wouldn’t start. Sunday afternoon and you need a car repair– who do you call? She called me, who did quick search and saw that Carr’s AS & T was open. I described the problem, told them where she was, and they’d be there in an hour. Somebody gave a jump so she called to cancel the recovery truck and drove on to Carr’s. They could have «misdiagnosed» the problem and taken advantage of a woman traveling alone to make a lot of money (it happens) but instead were honest and replaced the defective three year old battery. Since they carried the same brand they called me for the original receipt and pro-​rated it, again, saving her more money. What could have been a really expensive day turned out to be an $ 80 fix. Everybody there was very polite and professional and it’s nice to know that there are still honest shops out there.

Carr’s saved our vacation! If you need help and are stranded at the top of a mountain give them a call! The only shop open on Sunday’s and top notch mechanics! They had us fixed up and on the road the next day!
