Nature’s Paradise Day Spa

There is a reason that the spa is empty and not a lot of people are around.
The receptionist was sweet but I agree with the pushy-​ness that others were stating.
The massage was fabulous by Gail.
However, during my massage the door kept opening and «notes» were being passed from the manager to her workers. Extremely peculiar behavior and too much micro-​managing.
I then got a $ 65 refresher facial. The facialist just put a bunch of oily products on my skin and on my clean hair. At one point I had to tell her the product was stinging my face and the products smelled disgusting and were far too oily. She really didn’t know what she was doing.
There were no extractions just a bunch of steam, so my pores were left wide open
I ran home and had to shower yet again because of the disgusting facial.

First off my masseuse, Jill, was great, very comfortable and relaxing massage.
4 stars for her.
The terrible two stars are awarded to the horrible customer service that came from the cashier/​receptionist. She completely ruined my experience and made me not want to get a massage at all. My girlfriend and I called for an appointment that morning and set up a massage for 30 minutes. When we arrived here the cashier insisted that we said an hour and continued to press it on us. She would not stop trying to sell us the hour massage. She continued to talk over us when we were set that we only wanted the half hour. I told her that we were customers and the way she pressured us was unacceptable and quite frankly rude and disrespectful. I’m not one to leave bad reviews but in this case I felt this one was in need. My girlfriend also told me when she was walking out of her massage room to use the restroom she witnessed the same cashier yelling at her masseuse. I think a change in management should be a must. I will not be returning any time soon and advise anyone who reads this the same.

I got a gift certificate from my husband for a one-​hour massage here. My appointment was booked for 10:00am; however, no one was there when I arrived. At 10:05 the massage therapist opened the door. My massage started about 5 minutes later. About 15 minutes into the massage, the main phone line rang at the reception desk and she stopped my massage to answer the phone and book another appointment. She continued the massage but left the room again for a second phone call. She ended the massage by applying oil to my hair and scalp. I have never had a massage therapist do that before. It didn’t really make me happy since I had other things to do afterward and didn’t have time to wash greasy hair. When I got back into my car the time was 10:55. I estimate my husband paid for 1 hour of massage and I got closer to 30 – 40 minutes. Clearly she wasn’t interested on getting repeat business from me.
While I enjoyed the foot and leg massage, the back massage was a bit too rough. So rough in fact that my husband spotted fingerprint bruises on my neck, shoulders, and back the next day.

I was disappointed in the service of this place. I paid for package treatment and if i would’ve known the staff was messy, i wouldn’t came to this place. I was getting over charge for things, and didn’t feel comfortable coming to this place every week. They keep leaving the room constantly, and i keep hearing laughter at the front desk, and smart remarks. I picked up jealousy from the women that worked there. I can see why this place is always empty, i won’t be back!

I had my very first facial today and chose a place close by that had availability as I needed, there were other places with better packages but I was not disappointed here. I got the acne facial age washed and massaged my face 3x before she got all my pimples and black heads fallowing by another face wash and exfoliate and massage my face/​Chest/​neck and arms and head! Amazing!!!

Terrible. I stopped in for a quick brow wax. They are uneven lengths now! Plus. wax was too hot! I could have saved myself the $ 27 (! 30 with tip!!) and done better with my own tweezers. I won’t be back — too bad, because it would have been convenient!

Friendly staff. I did a 30 mins facial and 1 hour massage, the service is just okay. You could hear noise from the street and the room is too bright. I used the bathroom and the flush is not working right.

I looked for the dirt at Nature’s Paradise Day Spa and found none. I keep a very clean household so I know how to find dirt. In the past year and a half they have expanded and re-​decorated. It’s nothing fancy and they clearly like butterflies — but good, reliable service coupled with the ability an appointment within a few hours works for me.
Yolanda the esthetician is fabulous; she does a very thorough job, is careful and has a very sweet nature. The owner is a bit different, but nice and means well. After several years I finally gave in and tried some of their products. I LOVE THEM. My skin has never looked better. This from a high end beauty product snob.
I haven’t had a massage at Natures Paradise Day Spa in several years, but when I last did — It was one the best massages I ever had.

I went here 3 years ago for eyelash extensions and it was a disaster. The glue was strong smelling, you could see white flakes all over my lashes in the end, and was told that was how they were supposed to be.
Since then, I went to other places in Pinole and had 100% better experience and quality of work.

I went in for a triple treatment because I was in dire need of some relaxation. They have online coupons so I went for the chocolate hands and feet scrub, the ½ hour facial, and the peel to minimize acne, etc. All this cost $ 98 which is a pretty good deal considering that you get charged at least $ 200 from other places for similar treatments.
The owner (Johanna?) I believe, seems to be a very caring person. She is the one that gave me the treatments. She was the only one there, so the only complaint I have is that she kept leaving the room while I was getting my facial done to tend to the front door. My advice to them would be to hire a full-​time receptionist.
The facial was really relaxing. She even threw in an extra mini head and neck massage and picked up on the fact that I had been stressed out. The hands and feet chocolate scrub was *meh*. I think I would have liked the scrub to have been done in a jetted tub, instead of the massage table, but it did feel good.
Overall, the facility seems clean and not as cluttered as some of the other Unilocalers are claiming. They must’ve read their Unilocal ratings because the place didn’t look bad when I was there.
Would I go back? Yes, I would go back because Johanna was very nice and did throw in some «freebies» while I was there to make up for the fact that she was leaving the room during my facial.

I would’ve given this place ½ a star, but 1 was the lowest so it will have to do. I booked an appointment to this spa to get my lash extensions touched up by a lash tech. I normally would get them done at Harmony day spa, which is right across the street, but I decided to give Nature’s Paradise a shot considering it was a bit cheaper.
Upon walking in… the spa smelled strange, and looked a bit dark, and run-​down. It was not what i expected a spa to look like. The couple that own it are very old, and could barely speak English. I got my lashes done by a young woman who just gossiped about how she hated working there, and my lashes turned out HORRIBLE!!!
I swear she did not know what she was doing! I was so disappointed with the outcome. It was my first & last time at the spa.
I do not recommend it to anyone, not even if it was FREE!!!

I booked a sauna bath and a massage. The sauna bath is a no brainer — you sit there and sweat for ½ an hour. After the session, no one came to check on me. I was dying of thirst; after asking, I received two dinky dixie cups of water before my massage.
Massage was good, however the room is too bright and is on a really busy street. I kept wondering if a truck was going to slam into the building!
The woman (presumably owner) at front desk seems to try hard, but this place is just not on the mark.

I just recieved a facial at this spa and Yolanda was very good. She was very relaxing and had a nice personality. However, I do have to agree with last reviews… the place is a bit cluttered. I did notice there was a girl there reorganizing the product display and it was looking better by the time I was done with my facial. So maybe there are some changes/​improvements being made? I’ll have to see next time I come in for a facial with Yola. I really did like the service!

I made an appt. for 6pm. I arrived at 5:58pm and when I walked in someone, I assume the receptionist, was sleeping at the desk. After I woke him up, he tried to introduce me to the masseuse, I am not sure if he was stoned or what but he forgot her name saying… uh uh uh… finally she spoke up and said you were suppose to be here at 5:45, I said, I had an appointment at 6. I was led into a small room and she told me to undress. I was scared to step on the floor barefoot. The carpet was a bathroom carpet that obviously had never been washed because it was flat as a pancake.
Next, she came in and started working on my back without asking me any questions. I had to speak up and tell her why I was there. The part of the chair where you put your face was broken so it kept tilting down and I had to fix it each time, she told me that it was broken and no one ever fix it, great!
I was trying to make small talk with her but she rarely responded to my comments. I told her my whole back hurt and she was just massaging the left side, I asked her twice to massage the right side and she mumbled that I wasn’t «tight» on that side. Excuse me? I gave up at that point. During the massage, you could hear people in the front office faxing documents, someone was on speaker phone carrying on a conversation, which I could hear loud and clear. The oils smelt old and felt super greasy! Since the «spa» is located right on the street, you could hear cars whizzing by, horns and alarms. Not much of a relaxing experience. After I was dressed, I never seen her again. She didn’t even come out from where ever she was hiding to thank me or anything. The owner tried to sell me everything under the sun and as she was doing her speech, I was looking around and it was nasty inside. Plus, they sell every thing money can buy in there, most of it looks old and out of date. Please don’t even try going there, you will be disappointed. I went because it is close to my house and I had a coupon, no wonder they need coupons, they need to bring in business.

Owner should stay home and let someone else run it. It’s like a wharehouse of beauty products that she crams down your throat. (Always on special) Buy a treatment, she wants you to get another (on special of course). She screws up your hair appts for the girls upstairs. Girls upstairs finally left. Need a good local day spa. How hard is that?

Just like the first review, upon walking into this place, your first thought is that it looks rundown and items on display are pretty dusty. I had a treatment that was not satisfying at all, and then got conned into buying a product I later found out was only a fraction of the price they were selling it for. All in all — not an establishment I find trustworthy nor one to recommend.

I had my hair colored and cut here twice and it was ok. Not the best. I do recommend getting your hair done by Kay she is wonderful and very friendly but dont go with anyone else.

This place just looks dirty, cluttered, and unsanitary. I definitely would not recommend it to anyone and I definitely would not go back for spa services.
