History
Established in 1989.
In the fall of 1989, StenoTech opened its doors in the West Essex borough of Fairfield, New Jersey, as the state’s newest educational facility for the study of court reporting. In September 1992, on the eve of the school’s third anniversary, StenoTech proudly announced its relocation to expanded headquarters at 20 Just Road, Fairfield, where the main campus continues to operate in a spacious 10,000-square-foot training facility.
To validate its effectiveness and success as an institution, StenoTech obtained its initial grant of accreditation in 1997 from The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). ACICS is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education and is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
