The Hobnob at the Cradle is located inside the Cradle of Forestry Visitor Center. There is a $ 5 fee to get into the visitor center, but the entrance fee is free every Tuesday. It’s also free everyday for America the Beautiful pass holders and up to three of their guests. If you want to avoid the long lunch lines at the Pisgah Inn, this is the place to go. It’s a fast casual restaurant with decent to excellent food and service. You won’t get the view that you have at the Pisgah Inn, but there is outside seating. Caveat: the hours are everyday from 11am to 2pm, but they close early if they are slow; so call ahead to be sure. The Cradle of Forestry Visitor’s Center trails are a great place to stroll before or after lunch. Great for kids and strollers!
